A great 4 star story that had me reading non stop till I was done with the last word read. A captivating story about an actor, his wife and deceased best friend. No love triangle there.
Lucas is going through some difficult times. The suicide of his best friend has shattered him in unimaginable ways. Mila, Lucas’s wife is trying to help him cope but he’s pushes her away.
This was captivating story that had an unique storyline. I was sucked in their despair. It does deal with a difficult subject, suicide. It was an angsty story that was addicting. The only reason I didn’t give it a 4 star is that there are a lot of flashbacks. So we are reading 4-5 months ago and a lot of flashbacks. But little appens in the present. It was original but I had to reset my mind every time to the time frame.
This is a beautifully written story that was well thought out. Told in a dual POV with an HEA. I recommend this story.
Already one of my tops for 2019
Sometimes if you sit on a book long enough you can put your feelings into words. Then there are times where, no matter how long I sit and think about a book, I will probably never be able to put words to how I feel…this is one of those times!
Kate Stewart has a gift. A gift of placing you right in the middle of her world, and it doesn’t matter what world it is, and letting you live right along these people. You hurt when they hurt, you cry when they cry, and you breathe a sigh of relief when they can finally breathe. So why should I be surprised when I’m swallowed whole for the entire story and feel spit out and trampled on when the words “The End” show up?
There are so many good quotes that resonate for anyone who is loving someone, missing someone or is losing someone. One of my favorite lines…
‘A few bad years in a marriage is a reason to leave, a few bad months in a good marriage is a reason to stay’.
Outstanding. Brilliant. Phenomenal.
These are just a few words that describe this amazing story that I cannot stop thinking about. And they don’t even come close to doing this book justice.
I have never wanted to start reading from the beginning immediately after finishing a book as much as I did with this one.
I read the blurb, so I knew what the book was about. But I didn’t KNOW know. Ya know? Seriously, I was WOWed – this book rocked my fucking socks off.
From the unique storyline, to the eloquent writing, to the characters that captured my heart, I lived and breathed this story. It’s full of heart-pounding, angsty goodness that I couldn’t get enough of.
The genius wordsmith that is Kate Stewart, took this complex story, brilliantly weaved together the past and present, and made this journey of marriage and friendship and trust flow smoothly and flawlessly. My heart was taken on a long and winding emotional roller coaster ride, and I still felt the effects long after I finished.
The love Lucas had for Mila was intense… I felt it deep down in my soul. He adored her, worshipped her, loved her something fierce.
Their passion was intoxicating, scorching, and it made me crave more.
Mila, ah sweet Dame…such an amazing and strong heroine.
I admired her, I loved with her, I hurt and cried for her. I felt I was right there next to her.
Many sensitive subjects were a part of this story and I feel it must be mentioned that Ms. Stewart handled them with care, finesse, and class.
I can’t recommend this book enough.
So different from anything I’ve read.
Read it.
Beyond 5 stars! Kate Stewart expertly delves into intense, emotionally relevant topics in an easy to follow flow. It has left me reeling with so many emotions! I’m totally speechless and awestruck by this amazing story! This is a Magnificent Story that MUST BE READ!
Method, A rollercoaster of emotion, a different story, with twists and turns that you won’t see them coming, a book that will keep you glued to your seat wanting to know more..
Method is the story of Lucas a Hollywood actor who will do everything and anything to achieve his goal. to become a great actor sometimes means to hurt and break does around you and even the person that you love the most.
Mia, independent, smart and beautiful with a brilliant career and future. her life was beautiful until everything went wrong, a tragedy that will change them forever.
Lucas and Mia story was intense, they both loved each other immensely, you could feel the need and the connection between them at all time, no matter the situation their love was stronger than any memory, promise or past.. they were made for each other even if his work keep trying to break them apart..
Bad choices, past promises a battle that is taking him away from what they built with so much love and trust..
Method, a very different story, with the right amount of angst to keep you wanting more.. I love Kates writing and Method was not the exception she always takes you on a ride that you won’t guess until the very end..
Overall the book was good, the characters had a lot of depth making this story very intriguing and more appealing.
You know those books that you pick up and you just can’t put down?!
That is exactly how Method by Kate Stewart was for me.
I was completely invested in Mila and Lucas. I wanted to peel back every layer and know what would happen next.
And I’ll be honest, this book deals with some very sensitive and heavy subjects. However, Kate handles them with such extraordinary care, honesty, and brutal intensity that you absorb every second.
I was completely humbled by Kate’s ability to deliver such a powerful storyline. With so much heart, and still deliver a twist that you’ll never see coming.
This is definitely a must read and one I’ll be recommending to all my friends and fellow book lovers.
5 Huge Stars
5 It’s A Wild Ride of Emotions Stars!!
This is only my second book by Ms. Stewart and once again, my emotions have been taken for a ride. This book was so much more than I thought it was going to be…all in a good way. Ms. Stewart has tackled some very sensitive issues and she has done a marvelous job of depicting them and how they affect people.
Mila and Lucas are a couple that seem to have everything. But as is the case a lot of the time, there’s so much more than what’s on the surface. Lucas is an actor on the brink of making a name for himself, even though he’s been working for a long time in Hollywood…overnight sensations don’t really exist!
This new role comes at a time when something horrific has happened in his life that skews how he lives on a daily basis. Add into it, the storyline of this new movie is one that will test everything he knows as an actor. It affects not only his career but his life with Mila.
We see the inner workings of Hollywood film making with this book in the sense that we get a peek at what drives a story and a director to push the actors beyond what they think they’re capable of. With this pushing also comes consequences and through a series of flashbacks, we see how the last several months have played out and what happens when the proverbial dust settles.
Ms. Stewart has given us a book chock full of emotions that ranged from angst and anger to love, lust and passion. Her writing is brilliant in its details and her ability to draw the reader into the story, not letting us go until that last page is turned…I’m still in recovery mode to be honest…It’s a book that will stay with me for a long time to come that’s for sure. It’s also in my top reads of 2019!

It took Method to bring me out of my book funk and get back the 5 stars rating!
Method is just exceptionally built! Not only is it moving but the way Kate Stewart built her story, alternating chapters between pas and present, beginning with the end then going to “four months ago” to follow with years past was brilliant, clever and demonstrates a huge talent!
Honestly I always focus my reviews on the characters and I will but I need to take a moment to delve on the structure of that book! Because smart is not a strong enough word to describe it!
Rarely have I read stories with such flawless construction.
Usually when choosing to peek in the character’s past, you alternate between past and present chapters but Kate did not stop there.
As I said above the prologue is a dramatic scene located somewhere close to the end of the book.
Then you are sent into “four months ago” as it was the turning point of the story. The culprit or rather the trigger for all that will unfold later. Interwoven with “four months ago” are memories of years past. Then step by step you will progress to present time.
This allows Kate Stewart to have us guess for a long time what pushed Blake to that point. It also gives us an insight into Mila and Lucas love story as well as Lucas childhood.
At no point in the book does it get boring nor uninspiring.
Kate Stewart managed to keep the suspense and the tension all along while anchoring us into Mila and Luca’s orbit. They truly are one of these legendary couples.
But even couples united by a love as deep as theirs have their own ordeals, their own work to make it a success again and again.
This is how writing must be done!
Now I would not be true to myself of course if I did not speak of the characters. And what characters!
They are perfect for each other and will obviously have a place among my OTP (One True Pairing).
Mila is opinionated, smart, independent, dedicated and generous. She can live alone but she will take a leap of faith to live with Lucas, thrive as a star’s wife without embracing Hollywood’s extravagance.
Lucas was just …not perfect as he did mistakes but one of the best book boyfriends I have ever read about!
He was handsome, smart yet humble. Loyal (thank God!), loving, incredibly gifted and committed to have his marriage last a long time.
Reading about his childhood just broke my heart!
“I was the smelly kid, you know? I was the one that had to steal deodorant from The Family Dollar so I wouldn’t fucking reek after gym. The one with the shredded clothes.”
When he found Mila he found his safe harbor. His life partner.
“You changed my luck, Dame. And for the first time in my life, I feel like if I ever need rescuing, I’ll have somebody there to help save me.”
Yet, Blake’s death and the method acting will take their toll on him and pose a huge threat for their marriage.
One of this book’s main topics is about method acting, I think Kate did a great job highlighting the toll it takes on actor’s lives. How totally consumed by their character they become. So immersed with their role that it threatens theirs sanity and make family life extremely difficult.
You will also think about fulfilling your dreams and about what’s next. When you are on top of the mountain, what’s awaiting you? What makes you thrive? And was it worth the cost?
Because the cost Blake’s paid was certainly not worth it.
While reading this story I experienced the whole feeling’s spectrum: joy, angst, anger, fear, sadness, love … It was nor overdone nor downplayed. Just …balanced.
I can’t find a flaw in that story. I can’t pinpoint to something I would have done in another way. I can’t choose a scene or a chapter that felt unnecessary nor roughly written.
I am simply smitten with that story, these characters and the story building.
Just read it.
5 stars. Method, by Kate Stewart, is phenomenal. This Hollywood romance was EVERYTHING! Lucas is a Hollywood screen God who meets and marries Mila, a beautiful wine sommelier. Lucas, a hardcore method actor, lands the part of a lifetime. This role challenges him from an emotional and creative standpoint. Will this new part stir up suppressed emotions and guilt, ending Lucas and Mila’s storybook romance?
Kate Stewart delivers an Oscar-worthy writing performance. Method had all of the essential elements of a blockbuster romance including memorable characters and a unique, heartfelt emotion-packed plot.
Method was a page-turner. This book is going to grab you by the Golden Globes and make you wish there were awards for books like this! One click this five-star Kindle Crack.METHOD
5+ You’re All I’ve Ever Wanted stars!
Mila is the girl next door type who captures the heart of the most eligible bachelor in Hollywood, movie star Lucas Walker. Their chemistry is instant and all consuming, and they are obsessed with one another. They fall hard and fast, and soon she’s under his spell being thoroughly seduced and living the fairytale. They’ve been married over five years, and have become a bit co-dependent. They have built a beautiful life and are better versions of themselves when together. They have something real. A once in a lifetime love that is shaken up when the death of a longtime friend rocks their world.
Lucas is suffering and in pain from his friend’s absence when he’s offered the role of a lifetime. He’s been waiting years for an opportunity like this to come his way. Always striving to perfect his craft, he’s prepared to fully embrace the character. He does method acting with complete immersion. The process is brutal, but the results are career making. Once he’s immersed he doesn’t break character. He has to go all in with each new script and grueling role.
Mila isn’t a fan of her husband’s work routine, but always tries to understand and support him. This time something feels different and off. No role has ever been this taxing on their relationship. They aren’t connecting anymore, and are slowly growing further apart as his schedule takes its toll on them. She aches for her husband as the distance between them makes them feel like strangers. Their in a place that’s unfamiliar as their life is imploding. Mila can’t reach him and wonders if in three months when filming is done will she finally get her husband back? What will be left after a job well done?
I loved this book so much! Kate Stewart writes a brilliant, original, deeply passionate story full of angst, emotion, and love. It is told from past to present as this couple evolves and changes going through heartbreak and desperation. Their love is challenged and tested as they realize no love story is perfect or easy, and they have to choose to fight for what matters most. This book was an easy five stars for me, and my new Kate Stewart favorite. It completely captivated me and I felt so connected and invested in these characters. It’s unique, addicting, and will definitely be in my top reads for 2019!
“It’s genius and crazy and nothing less than what I should have expected.”
This was one of the quotes I highlighted in this book and it perfectly describes this story from beginning to the very end. I have often wondered when reading books, especially darker, more suspenseful, super angsty books, where does an author go in order to bring us those kinds of stories. Kate Stewart really does bring to light that “method” that many authors and actors (since that is what this book is about) put themselves through in order to bring us the beauty of words that we devour on a nearly daily basis. I’ve been hooked from the very first book of Kate’s I read…and that one was a truly difficult read and when an author says “that book killed me”, I can really see how that could happen when I was done reading THIS book. And while we know that Lucas is an actor and that he immerses himself in his roles, there is so much more than meets the eye with this story. I can’t describe the feelings I felt when reading it. It is a story you need to experience for yourself. You will experience pain, fear, disgust, concern, sadness and hate. But above all, you will experience love — all encompassing love, love from so many different angles that you feel like it is impossible to feel that kind of love for another, love in so many different forms and from different people. I cried, I laughed, I pulled at my hair. I had no earthly idea where the author was going to take me. I hoped for a Happy Ending…but I knew there was the possibility that there may not be. Kate Stewart took me on a ride I was only too happy to take but that found myself taking a break from now and again just to take in all the scenery. Definitely a top read of 2019 for me.
I finished this beautiful story this morning. I was left in tears Both happy AND sad. (Which is a testament to Kate’s writing ability bc I don’t cry easily). This story was like NO OTHER I’ve read and I was blindsided by its breathtaking and powerful content and characters. It truly is a story I never saw coming It’s REAL. It’s RAW. It’s ALL CONSUMING. It’s love at its truest and rawest form.
This book shows you that no matter how strong your relationship foundation is, it can be shaken and unrecognizable at times, but not unrepairable. Those times will test you, but they will also teach you. Relationships grow and change and so do the people within those relationships. Life changes us, so inevitably life changes people. You just have to be willing to have faith in your relationship and trust that this journey called “life”, is worth every milestone and “bump in the road” along the way. There will be good and bad days, but that’s part of life and everyone has times in their life that they need to crumble and in those times, your UNWAVERING love shines through because this is when you need to prove you can have faith in your relationship to stand by their side through their struggle.
“Humans are gloriously flawed, and some types of love are never truly unconditional. A lot of my mistake was expecting our love to stay perfect, because a lot of the time, it was. It’s wanting our love even after we’ve seen the imperfections that makes or breaks us.” – METHOD
GAH, I could go on and on about this book but I want it’s amazingness to be experienced through your eyes without giving much away. Just know that this was an emotional journey that will stay with me forever and that even before i finished, I was “driven” to tell everyone that they MUST read this book. If you’ve never read a book by Kate, start with this one. You will be blown away by her writing and left craving more of it.
This was easily a top favorite read of 2019 for me! Kate is making her way to my top favorite author list at this rate. I’ve only read 3 books of hers, but I’ve undoubtedly loved every one of them. And METHOD I more than loved!
Beyond 5 stars
Do you know what happens when you crack open a Kate Stewart book when you have a free day? Or at least a day free from working. If you’re me, it means you spend the day curled up on couch with a coffee and words brought to you by Kate Stewart. It was wonderful to spend hours reading Method from start to finish while ignoring my family and housework. I’ll be honest, I needed this and Kate Stewart was the author to give me some much needed relaxation. I mean, Kate Stewart transports you to a place where you can just read and become a spectator in her world.
Method is really unique. I really enjoyed how Stewart presents the story. Having a couple already together and going back and reliving their entire coupling is beautiful and heartbreaking. I’m just in awe of Stewart’s storytelling. She manages to make my heart ache while still having the ability to make me laugh… and those naughty bits were so much more than just sexy. You could feel the intimacy with Mila and Lucas. Everything about this book is unique and special. Stewart gives us a close up look at several various relationships and how different we are with others and how we make up those relationships.
I really feel like Method is a book that everyone should read especially for those struggling in their different roles. It’s eye opening. Last year Kate Stewart and Heather M. Orgeron wrote my favorite book, Heartbreak Warfare. It was so many readers favorite. While this story is no where near the same… I am so happy to see and feel Mrs. Stewart’s words resonate so deeply again. Method is so much more than I thought it was going to be.
Shocking.
Stunning.
Beautiful.
Heartbreaking.
Soulful.
Poignant.
Intimate.
Intense.
Touching.
Passionate.
Kate Stewart filled my heart. She broke me, only to lift my heart and my spirit. I truly wish I could reread this story again for the first time. Sometimes an author manages to touch you deeper than just your heart… she caresses your soul. This is more than a good read! It was just what I needed to read today.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
I thought this book was a really good read. I don’t typically go for movie star type storylines but I did enjoy it. I felt it moved a little slow at parts but that ending definitely had me emotional! I would definitely recommend it.
An Emotional Journey
It’s hard to describe a book that was written so beautifully and tore me apart. This story was poignant. The author is beyond talented with her ability to tell a story that leaves you feeling every emotion with her characters.
Lucas was a method actor. So consumed with the dedication to his craft, he lived another life when filming. Mila was the woman who loved him and stood by him as he became someone else.
I was moved, I was brought to tears, I was angry and frustrated. The author evoked all my emotions with this story. However, underlying all of this was a once in a lifetime, incredible love. Two people who didn’t seem like they would fit, were exactly right for one another.
Their love was tested, but their foundation was strong. The cracks only made them stronger.
This story was difficult for me at times, but I am glad that I read it anyway. It was a true emotional journey and I won’t ever forget it. Be prepared for the angst and heartbreak, but also for the love.
Another beautifully written book by Kate Stewart that tugs on your heart strings and keeps you turning the pages. And oh that cover is just stunning!
She has this ability to write damaged, broken but redeeming characters whose emotions, feelings and life force roll off the page, making them so real no matter who they are and where they came from.
Lucas has had a tough life, but acting has been his focus since he met Maddie, a former actress, when he was 8. When he left home with nothing, he met Blake in LA who became his best friend, his brother and together they set out to fulfil their dreams. No journey is easy and when Blake dies unexpectedly, despite his very happy marriage to Mila, the cracks, the doubts, regrets and guilt send Lucas spiralling into an acting role that will change his and Mila’s lives forever.
I just loved how different this book was to other stories set within the Hollywood glitz. Lucas and Mila are already happily married and completely in love with each other. The method acting subject is what really sets this apart. The author has obviously spent a lot of time researching. The depth and detail blew me away and I’m very aware of what method acting is and how involved in the actors psyche it becomes. It still gives me a new found respect for the actors and actresses who dedicate themselves like this to be the absolute best!
It was fascinating (and slightly petrifing) seeing Lucas’s immersion into his role, how he focused and gradually shut everything and everyone out. The emotions, the effects and consequences and the twists for the characters in this book had my heart pounding whilst holding my breath and losing my nails!
The timelines in this book switches between their pasts, how the relationship between Lucas and Mila evolved and the few months leading up to the present day. This worked really well, although I did have to keep focused, not a big problem as I was glued to the pages!
I always look forward to a new Kate Stewart release, I know how good it’s going to be, how the characters will grab me and not let go. Method was no exception, I loved it. 4.5 stars
Method is a book unlike anything I’ve ever read. It was so unique and one I know I will remember for many years to come. The writing is stunning and complex. The emotions that this story evokes are very real and I just did not know how I would feel from page to page. It was a heart pounding and emotionally driven story; the true definition of ‘a page turner’. It genuinely stands out as one epic masterpiece that everyone needs to read. It was a truly emotional and brilliant journey and definitely one of my top reads of 2019.
Method centres around married couple Lucas and Mila, and all their trials and tribulations. Lucas and Mila have a special kind of love that most people search for their wholes lives, but are never able to find. It’s a connection so powerful that you know they are destined to be together forever. Their love is full of passion, sweetness, romance and so much chemistry and intensity. The angst level was literally off the charts and I had no idea what was going to happen next. I was on the edge of my seat throughout and the more I read, the more I needed and wanted to know. Whilst the story flitted between the past and present, it flowed so effortlessly that I never once got confused as to whether I was in the past or present. Sometimes flashbacks don’t work for me in books, but the pacing was seamless and the flashbacks were executed to perfection.
Method is one unforgettable angsty story about loss, sacrifice, grief and an epic love story that is so powerful your heart will both break but then mend once again. It’s compelling, emotional and sensual. Once again, Kate Stewart touches my heart and leaves a lasting mark.
So, so good! Kate Stewart has outdone herself with Method! I’ve read all her books but this book, it’s going to stick with me, it’s excellent writing and story telling!
Lucas and Mila’s romance is a whirlwind, instant chemistry, twists turns, ups and downs…Hollywood love at its finest!
Read this book! Highly recommend
I devoured this. I was all wrapped up in it and it was hard to put down. I loved reading the ins and outs that Lucas had to through to fine tune his craft. The struggle and strain that it put on not only him, but also his marriage. Mila is fantastic. The understanding and love she has for Lucas got her through some tough times. I would say the one thing that held me back from 5 stars were the flashbacks. There were a lot of flashbacks, I was getting a wee bit frustrated with them. By the 60% mark I wanted to pull my hair out. But I was so invested with the story that I had to know how it would end. The ending was great, I had all the feely feels.
This book sucked me right from the first page. It’s so different than what I have previously read. I have been trying to get out of my book funk for months, then I came across this one. It did it. It took me from my book funk and blew me away.
