This was the first book I have read from this author and I loved it, I can’t wait to pick up more of her books and look forward to seeing what she delivers in the future!
Love her books and chapters. Can alway depend they will be good reading!
I should have never started reading this book at 11 o’clock at night as I couldn’t put it down. I don’t know why I waited so long to read this book. I loved everything about it. Your emotions with range in this book to sadness, happiness, laughter, tears, steaminess and everything in between. The mystery in this book was quite a surprise on what happened but more why it happened. Terry and Nate are perfect for each other and it was fun to read them become friends to lovers. I hope there are more books in this series or even with these characters. Also you can read this as a stand alone. I didn’t even know this was the second book in this series until writing this review.
*I received this free book from NetGalley and am leaving my honest opinion*
I could not put this book down. This love story with a couple twists was great. The characters were believable and I felt like I was right in there – part of all the happenings. I did not want this book to end.
Great book, Jude Devereaux never disappoints!
I enjoy all of Jude Devereaux’s books.
Jude Deveraux is my guilty pleasure. When I need a break from psychological thrillers, I love to read a light romance with a bit of mystery. Jude never disappoints.
In this latest Summer Hill installment, Terri is working at the lake, doing all sorts of jobs when she enters her home and finds a man there. Nate Taggert (of the Montgomery / Taggert clan) is tall and handsome, but engaged to perfect Stacy. However, the sexual tension and compatibility between Nate and Terri continues to build until it can’t be ignored.
Terri won’t let anything happen because there are too many rumors in town about her and also about her long lost mother. She doesn’t want to give the town any more to talk about, so she won’t let her feelings towards Nate grow into more than friendship.
Of course, that isn’t satisfactory for a Deveraux novel. There must be some conflict, and the Taggerts always get the right girl. Additionally, the mystery of why Terri’s mom disappeared so suddenly is solved.
A perfect beach read or a perfect book to read when it is freezing cold outside! Either way, a guilty pleasure!
#MetHerMatch #JudeDeveraux
I loved ALL the characters in this story & loved how it unfolded! Great story & thoroughly enjoyed it!!
Fast romantic mystery!
A wonderful read.
I love Jude Devereaux and her characters. This book develops the characters well. The mystery was partially obvious and partially surprising. The male protagonist is the son and nephew of previous characters so I enjoyed that. Worth the read.
Good Reading. Have always liked this author.
Terri is strong: physically and emotionally. Deveraux’s MET HER MATCH has Terri bumping heads with Nate Taggert (of the Colorado Taggert’s); which isn’t too hard because they are sharing the same house. There are many twists and turns along the way, including solving a murder and preventing another murder. MET HER MATCH is a page-turner. Enjoy.
6 star book. Awesome. Romantic. Read in 1 setting. Didn’t see ending coming.
I. Love all her books, have never read one that wasn’t great!
What a great story! The characters and the mystery kept me reading late into the night/next morning.
Some of the townspeople of the small town of Summer Hill think highly of themselves and look down on the people that live by the lake. For most of her life, Terri Rayburn, has been subjected to a bad reputation that she did not deserve. Her hopes to travel the world, were squashed when her father needed her help to run the resort at the lake after his business partner’s death. Her life has become a jack of all trades and she has no life of her own, until Nate Taggert ends up staying in her aunt’s house with her, through the machinations of his uncle. Despite his engagement to the Stacy, daughter of the town’s mayor, he and Terri quickly become so in sync with each other that most people at the lake think they are a couple. The more time he spends with Terri, he starts to question his relationship with Stacy, but Terri is terrified of more scandal. Having worked for the CIA, Nate puts his skills to work, to find out what happened to Terri’s mother, and why Terri was blamed for actions, when she was the victim. The only con I had for this book, and it may be due to the fact that I read an ARC, was that the story just abruptly ended.
I read an ARC from NetGalley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
I was not sure about book while I read the beginning, but I soon got hooked on the secrets they were hiding, what were they, how do we discover what they were. Soon I found myself trying to finish the book before I had to go to bed. Very entertaining and I love the Taggart and Montgomery families.
This is one of the best books I’ve read this year! I’ve been a fan of Ms. Deveraux’s since I read A Knight in Shining Armor and when I’m asked what my favorite romance is, I never hesitate to reply with A Knight in Shining Armor. That is until I read Met her Match. I believe I’ve found a new favorite romance novel. Even though this was the 2nd book in the Summer Hill series, I didn’t feel like I needed to read the first. I wasn’t lost at all.
Terri Rayburn has a reputation in her town. She’s the one who fixes everything at the summer resort, the one everyone turns to for help there, but when she heads into town her reputation immediately changes. She becomes the woman everyone talks about. Stories in town abound and they aren’t good. She’s painted in the worst possible light and no one sticks up for her. She does what’s best for her and stays away from town, only going in when she needs something.
One day she returns from a short trip and finds a stranger in her house. It turns out that the Montgomery matchmakers are at it again, but this time there’s an issue. Nate’s already engaged, it’s to the mayor’s perfect daughter. Nate and Terri attempt to ignore the growing feelings as they get closer and becomes friends, but it’s difficult. When Nate heads into town, he hears all about Terri, and it doesn’t match up with the woman he’s getting to know, so he decides to get to the bottom of all the rumors.
This story just couldn’t be better, we’ve got an amazing setting, wonderful characters, and a storyline that’s perfection. I’m definitely interested in the rest of the series now and can’t wait to read them.
*I received an ARC of this story from the publisher and Netgalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Thank you for this book. I miss the time travels, the Taggerts, and the Montgomerys.
After they romanced their women and settled the small towns–you didn’t expand their family and stories.
I enjoyed the challenges of Terri Rayburn and the chemistry between her and Nate Taggert. Terri was a very competent woman and Nate was her ideal match. I hope the next book will continue with Rowan and Stacey…
Great author – collected her books for years – loved them all!
