“She wasn’t an angel, but she was his angel.”Tomik took Hannah like he had a hundred women before her, like any other collectable that his mesmer abilities let him control utterly and completely. He wanted to dress her in wings, make her crawl to him, do things to her body that were worse than sinful… they were nightmarishly obscene. But Hannah isn’t like any other collectable. She’s the girl he … collectable.
She’s the girl he ran away from, tried to protect… until she called him back.
Now there’s no stopping the darkness inside him, the cravings that demand he keep her all to himself — but that’s against the rules and his mesmer brothers are dangerous. Unpredictable. And how can he keep her safe when all he wants to do is make her scream?
Before love will come pain, blood, and the near destruction of her soul, and his.
“A twisted, upside-down, out-there love story.”
“I could still feel the darkness creeping and crawling through my imagination long after I closed the final page.”
“This is darker than 13 midnights – PITCH BLACK type of dark. There are more bad things than I can even prepare someone for.”
Mesmer is a standalone dark romance and is based in the Dark Hearts trilogy world created by Cari Silverwood, that begins with Wicked Ways.

Tomik and Hannah’s personal story started out years before when they were in school together. Sweet, innocent with the usual teenage angst….until it wasn’t.
Their current connection is one of victim and mesmer/master. While depraved, darkly decadent, twisted, cruel, horrific, torturous, soul-sucking and sub human in places the true evil is his ability to treat someone that he cared for in the past this way. The sexual scenes are intense, captivating and yet repelling at the same time. The other mesmers in this story…well they will certainly evoke strong feelings on many different levels and make you contemplate some nasty revenge tactics.
There is violence and degradation for Hannah and the other mesmer victims ahead that will make you shudder and keep you up at night. Yet Hannah continues to persevere with her own form of coping that is fascinating to watch evolve.
I have a love/hate relationship with this book, am totally torn about the actions depicted inside it, happy and sad at the ending for Tomik and Hannah and left wondering what is wrong with me that I was so “mesmerized” by this story I couldn’t walk away from it.
This story has triggers and is not for the faint of heart by any means. Be prepared to have your mind blown when you read it.
Ladies you did a fantastic job of thoroughly twisting my mind and emotions.
Hannah has the love of her life back, but Tomik isn’t the same person he once was. Their story is scorching hot yet, tantalizingly dark, twisted and depraved. A fantastic book that I loved and couldn’t put down.
This story is not for the faint of heart.
That being said, it is a story for fans of really BAD BAD men getting exactly what they deserve. I was sucked into this book and, like a train wreck, I could not stop reading. Just when I thought it could not get any worse for our girl, it did. I was told there was an HEA, but frankly, I did not believe it was possible. If you can ride the wave and survive the pitfalls, there at the end of the tunnel, is a light. And Thank the Good Lord it is not a train!
These two authors always push the envelope when it comes to darkness, imaginative writing, and depravity. Combining their words into one freakishly amazing book, well, you just can’t sit idly by and not read this!
Imagine the ability to control people at your whim. There are no boundaries – you’re literally at the mercy of a mesmer.
Tomik wasn’t always the monster he was for most of this book. There was a time he had a heart, a conscience. Can Hannah help him find that person again?
I love it when a book makes me reach deep into my soul to remember that there is goodness. Mesmer takes you to a most perverse place. And I loved every sick and twisted bit of it!
Are you looking for something dark and twisted that will keep you up at night worried that the Boogey Man will come and get you? Well then, step right up and grab yourself a copy of “Mesmer” from the devious minds of Cari Silverwood and Jennifer Bene. If the premise of the story seems familiar to you, then you’ve already traveled down the black cobblestone path of Ms. Silverwood’s Dark Hearts series—fear not, this is a standalone story and while helpful, it isn’t necessary for you to dive into that world unless you have a therapist on hand to meet with you after.
In the meantime, rumor has it that you can eat whatever you want while reading this story because every time Tomik hits the reset on Hannah, all those calories go away. Don’t believe me? Read the story to find out.
