The sea is a dangerous and fickle mistress, and no one knows this better than Captain Loreley Blackmore. Orphaned after losing her father in the same storm that nearly claimed her own life when she was but a girl of fifteen, the ocean is both Loreley’s greatest love and her greatest fear. Having since made a life, and a name for herself as a pirate, Loreley has managed to put her past behind her … her save for one aspect…
The melody that has haunted her for fifteen years since her miraculous survival…
The melody imprinted upon her soul by her three destined mates.
Serving as both Loreley’s greatest source of comfort as well as her greatest source of confusion, the melody serves a far greater purpose than she could ever know. Unfortunately, a new danger stalks the sea, and it has set its murderous intentions upon Loreley and her crew.
Will Loreley find the answers she seeks before it’s too late?

Was anyone else as excited as I was to see another book in the Cadarnle world A. J. Ryder created? I love the fact she has made lady pirates as commonplace in her world as male pirates are in mine. Loreley almost lost her life at the same time she did lose her father at sea when she was just fifteen. Down to her last breath, three mermen found her and after discovering she was their intended mate, sang their song, saved her life and released her ashore hoping they would find her again when she was older. Their song haunts Loreley her entire life. Do they manage to come together and become a pod? In A, J. Ryder style, the chemistry between the four of them is breath-taking and the storyline pulled me in and kept me there until I finished their story. I’m so glad I didn’t miss this one and can’t wait to see where she takes me next.
This is book 4 of the Ballads of Cadarnle series. I loved this story. I loved the characters and found them well developed. The book is well written and I would recommend reading.

Mermen’s Melody is book four of the Ballads of Cadarnle series and I must admit I was pretty excited to see it. If you have read the first three books in the series then you know what I mean. If you haven’t, I definitely recommend you read them too. I loved the chemistry between Loreley and her three destined mates and the way it was a song that tied them together. This is a great addition to the series and I can’t wait to read more.
Dont’t be afraid of the unknown. Loreley, almost lost her life by the sea when she was 15 in the same storm she lost her father. She was rescued by three mermen, PrinceMorfyll, Ansylo and Siarcod, black guy, the quiet one, who recognized her as their mate. They were happy because they had been waiting 200 years. Sadly, at 15 they knew she was too young. They had been together since they were 13 preparing their pod for when their female mate arrived. They knew they ahd to let her grow up. Siarco d suggested they sing her their song, so when she grew up, she would be compelled to find them. Selyna, saved Loreley, took her under her wing and mentored her. Loreley thrived and matured into a remarkable woman. When she was ready, her mermen wooed her with their song. She then entered into a magnificent adventure. Good story! Friends and family introdued were fun and funny. The dialogue between Loreley and the Trust was everything anyone may have wanted in a rollercoaster adventure. Well done! Mermaid, pirates and sirens are only a few creatures/beings that make up this fantastic and engrossing story. This is a very unique read that is well written and a very fun read. There was one twist that was a bit predictable, but overall this is a really great read. I definitely recommend this story.

I really loved this book! I read it in less than a day. I couldn’t put it down. I liked the authors take on a world where female pirates are common place and there are a multitude of strong female characters. I really liked the idea of three merman mates to one female. The love scenes were hot and the plot was interesting. Well done! I can’t wait to read the next book!

This book is amazing and I absolutely loved it! The story of Loreley, Morfyll, Siarcod and Ansylo is an absolute delight to read. Full of twists and turns, this book grabs a hold of the reader from the very beginning and doesn’t let go. Loreley is a ship captain who has lost both her parents, one to childbirth and one to the sea. She was aboard her father’s ship when the storm hit but was saved by three mermen, who know her to be their mate. Being that Loreley is too young, they return her to a port city where she finds a savior. Captain Selyna Khem takes her under her wing and teaches her what she needs to know to be a captain. Now having her own ship, she sails the sea haunted by a melody she doesn’t remember hearing. Trouble begins brewing when a new sailor comes aboard her ship. Loreley is unsure of Teneti but her first mate Freely is sure nothing is wrong. Freely is wrong and soon the whole ship will pay as Teneti is a siren and she wreaks her evil on board. Loreley is gravely injured by Freely while under the siren’s spell and thrown overboard. Her mates, Morfyll, Siarcod and Ansylo, rescue her and care for her as she recovers. In time, she is turned into a mermaid so that she may be with her mates. Teneti is still causing trouble topside and soon is confronted by Selyna when she finds Loreley’s wrecked ship. Teneti is actually Selyna’s niece and when Selyna’s rage becomes too great, she kills Teneti and becomes a siren herself. Taking her anger back to her people, she is in the midst of an attack when Loreley spots her and she is able to bring back the goodness is Selyna’s heart. The battle does not end well and Selyna is lost. From there, Loreley goes forward with her mates towards her happy ending, with a short pitstop to help Freely overcome his grief and move forward with his own life.

Loreley went to sea with her father at the tender age of 5 after losing her mother. Ten years later, on a day that will change her life in so many ways, she loses him as well. They were bringing in their largest haul to date when a huge storm came up. The storm tossed everyone but her overboard before capsizing with her tied to the mast. Unconscious and unknowing, she’s rescued by a merman.
Morfyll is shocked to find that this waif of a girl slipping away into the sea is his Trust’s fated mate. Ansylo and Siarcod join in his shock and they finally decide that she’s too young to keep with them, Hoping that they will find her again when she matures, they sing her their song and place her safely on a beach near a fishing village.
Fifteen long years later, they will be reunited, but it’s a bittersweet reunion. Will she give up her life on the sea for one under it? Will her Trust give up their tails for trousers? What will become of this potential Pod?
I absolutely loved this book! I want more of the merfolk of Cadarnle’s seas. Very well written, great depth to the characters and wonderfully integrated into the larger world.

The idea of the story was good. But it was very repedative an wordy. This drew out the story longer than it could have, making it pretty boring. I almost gave up reading the story a couple of times.
