I could not have guessed the way this book ended. A good story to follow to the end.
I must say, I never knew there was such a thing as a professional performing mermaid. (I looked it up after reading this adventure.) Alas, I don’t believe we have ever encountered the real variety. I was dubious upon reading the description, but found this book quite entertaining.
Tara always wanted to be a mermaid; unbeknownst to her, she was already halfway there. This fast, light read will carry readers from an aquarium’s mermaid show into the deepest recesses of the ocean, and into unfathomable worlds. Enjoy the adventure!
She wanted to be a mermaid since she was a child and against all of her family she goes to work at Neptunes. The story shows her going from being a self absorbed teen to one involved in a host of events and having to fight for the welfare of someone else and stop a war. Yup it’s all peaches and roses watching her change (which is cool how it happens) and deal with the lies and secrets. This author reveals it all in pieces and let’s us in on the secrets and fun. This is a light and fun read and great start to the series which can be read out of order cos I did and didn’t get too lost since they are standalone reads with carry over characters but there is an overall story that details are spread throughout the series. I love this author and the way she blends all types of magical types into this story of this troupe of mermaids coming into their individual powers.
Tara has dreamed about being a mermaid since forever so takes a year out to wear a fake tail and be one in a professional group of performers. Then she meets a real one called Finn and starts to become a real one. When she tries to find him to stop the transformation she gets caught in the middle of a war between the land and sea – her only escape is to learn to be a real mermaid.
A charming story with a gentle love story mixed in with the being a mermaid transformation and the impending war. Well written, clear and easy to understand. An enjoyable light read.
Fun to read, unfortunately I finished it too fast, so now I need to get the others so I can continue the story!!
It was okay, I think it had a foundation but didn’t build on some topics. Like the relationship, or if she would be interested in finding out where her father came from. Also the next book is about a witch, probably one of the other “mermaid “ performers. Witch means less interaction with the girl from the first book.
Very slow, not suggested for adult readers
This is a sweet, cute read with an unusual twist. The characters are well developed and the book enjoyable.
cute disneyesk story.
Proving dreams come true
great quicl read I finsihed in one day. Love this author. I am sure we all have wished to be someone special like a mermaid.
This could have been a great book but it wasn’t. Writer was repetitive with information. I don’t need to be retold over and over basic information that was developing the character. Also, in same paragraphs, yes further repeats, had the main character whining about getting her wish granted and then in awe of the beauty of undersea life. The “romance” was ridiculous, although clean, it was based on nothing. This could have been a really good story instead of a waste of time.
Very cute, quick, fun read. I was hooked from beginning to the end. In fact I have gone on to read the next few in the series!!
Darling story about a girl who wants to be a mermaid! Loved it.
This was a sweet story but so short! There could have been more time spent describing the characters and the world around them. Great idea, just wish it was fleshed out more.
A pleasant read.
I liked it, but the instant love thing turned me off.
This was a good clean young adult romance. I did feel it was missingsomething, I’m not sure what, it just felt off in some parts.
The story line was descriptive and easy to follow. And I fell in love with the characters quickly.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was a good, clean read that all ages can enjoy. I liked the characters and the storyline. I wanted the book to continue and there is another book. This book is about a girl that has a job as a “mermaid”, in a show. After a show, she sees a small dolphin, that is so sad. I can’t tell too much more without giving away spoilers, so, let’s just say she meets some real mermaids. Great read!
