Mallory’s mother died fifteen years ago. But her father’s last words on the phone were unmistakable: “Find . . . mother.”
Shame and confusion have kept Mallory Davis from her home for the last fifteen years, but when her dad mysteriously dies on his mail boat route, she doesn’t have any choice but to go back to Mermaid Point.
Mallory believes her father was murdered and childhood sweetheart … murdered and childhood sweetheart Kevin O’Connor, game warden in Downeast Maine, confirms her suspicions. But Kevin is wary of helping Mallory in her search. She broke his heart and left—without a word—years ago.
When Mallory begins receiving threats on her own life—and her beloved teenage daughter, Haylie—their search intensifies. There’s a tangled web within the supposed murder, and it involves much more than what meets the eye.
As answers begin to fall into place, Mallory realizes her search is about more than finding her father’s killer—it is also about finding herself again . . . and possibly about healing what was broken so long ago with Kevin. She just has to stay alive long enough to put all the pieces together.

Awesome book Awesome writer
I borrowed a copy of the audiobook version of this book by Colleen Coble from my local library. When Mallory Davis’s dad dies, she returns with her daughter to Sunset Cove, and encounters her former fiancé Kevin O’Connor. When she learns her father was murdered and so was her mother 15 years previously, things begin to heat up. Colleen Coble is great at suspense and keeping you guessing who is behind all that happens, and subplots abound. Great read.
I love Colleen Coble’s books. This is another great one.
I like Cobles books. Mermaid Moon was an easy read and very sweet.

Loved this book and the characters. Many were still unable to forgive themselves and/or forgive others. There were mysteries to solve and sweet attraction with two people meeting up after many years apart. Couldn’t put this book down and can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

I received this books for a honest review from Fiction Guild. I have read other books from Colleen Coble an know that I would enjoy this one also. From the moment I opened this book it was hard to put it down. Mallory is trying to sell the jewelry she designs and makes so that she can pay up on the mortgage on her home and put food on the table. He dead husband left them in financial straights when he passed and he is holding on. She thinks her daughter doesn’t know what trouble it has been for her mom. Mallory just got a check and is on her way to deposit her check and gets a phone call from her dad which didn’t sound so good and he tells her to find her mother. She has known that she was adopted but never really thought about looking for her. She calls a friend in the town where her father lives and she grew up and asked him to check on her dad because she is at least 2 hours away and has to set everything up for her daughter to be taken care of by her neighbor. And heads up to her home town. Only to find out that her father is dead and he has a new boat she doesn’t know where it comes from. The man who helps her is the guy she ran out on 15 years earlier and they have issues the need to work out. But someone tries to hurt her daughter and neighbor and burns her dads house down. And she finds her real father for only him to die the night she finds him and finds out the wonderful neighbor who has helped her is actually her mother. I laughed, cried and could not but this book down
