I went from being on top of the world to the lowest point of my life. My husband’s affair.Going head to head with my arch nemesis, Veronica. Not to mention, I have a feeling someone is trying to take me out. And I don’t mean on a date.Which will be pretty hard to do since I’m already undead.Trying to keep my suburban life from crumbling, while making sure I don’t weaken under the sunlight is going … weaken under the sunlight is going to take a whole lot of energy and pints of O negative blood.
I’m Rachel Jones, and I’m the Vampire Housewife.

I loved this book 2 in the series sooo much. I love the snarkiness, and the attitude of the heroine, Rachel. I’m hating the husband and the so called best friend even more than she is. I loved everything, the daughters, the true friends, the evil Veronica and her daughter, dang I even loved the salesgirl at the dress store. Woweeee, the minute I read Khalan was taking the pups to someone that would care for them, I knew the author was throwing in some of my favorite genre. I can’t wait to see how she tries to have a “regular” life with her girls once she’s a full blown vampire and of course her and Khalan; what is going on there? What the heck, looks like someone is trying to get rid of our girl permanently. You have to read this series and especially book 2and I can’t wait to see what happens I book 3.
4 out of 5 stars
After Rachel finds out about her husbands affair things have to continue even though her heart is breaking and she has to deal with being a vampire . She needs to get up and feed the girls and get them to school. All while she is dealing with becoming a vampire and basically left to fend for herself . And now she has someone trying to kill her will she get out of this with out a scratch and will her cheating husband get what is coming to him . All in the day of a vampire house wife .
Rachel is back and is getting stronger and feistier . Even when she is beaten down by her ex we see the you aren’t going to get me down attitude . I truly like these characters they are so very well written . Everyone from the concerned friend that really isn’t that concerned Miles is the two timing husband , who honestly you want to slap him upside the head with a cast iron frying pan. He thinks that he should have his cake and eat it also but he is a cheat and a liar who should get what is coming to him.
This is the second book in the series and starts basically where book one stopped . We get to see Rachel grow and become more of herself and how she is dealing with being a vampire and a mother .The characters are well written and you will fall for them . There is a good mystery and a little romance to go along with the mystery. The characters will have you laughing and the story will have you on the edge of your seat So if you want a good series for the pool check them out ,
MERLOT AND DIVORCE AND DEADLY REMORSE is the second book in the Vampire Housewife series. These will need to be read in the order of release.
The second book is even better than the first. Rachel is trying to come to the terms with the end of her marriage and the beginning of her afterlife, but some things are easier said than done. Adding to the misery and adventure of a new chapter in her life, it seems someone is trying to end it – not knowing that she’s already dead.
The story is entertaining and kept me tied to my Kindle. I was never so happy to wait in a doctor’s office! Yep, yep, take your time.
There is plenty of wine and whine, a touch of romantic interest, and the sweetest daughters – though not perfect – to make it a perfect read.
The next six titles are listed at the end, so we know there is plenty of story already outlined in the author’s mind and that is good news!
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via Booksprout, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Rachel is back & still fighting to keep her family together, minus her cheating husband. Her nemesis, Victoria, is causing trouble at every turn & is giving Rachel’s husband “ammunition” to use against her, even tho none of it is true. She still can’t accept that she needs to drink human blood & thinks any kind will do. She finds a cattle farm & goes to ask for cow’s blood to make “blood sausage.” Khalan, her maker, is still irritated that she won’t leave her human life behind to become a true vampire. He takes her out & tries to help her start learning to use her enhanced senses by rescuing some unborn coyote pups from their dying mother. He tells her that it is her responsibility to look in on them after they’ve been adopted in to a wolf pack, but he doesn’t tell her anything about the pack. She gets a shock when she goes back to check on them. She’s also trying to get what she thinks she deserves from the marriage, but after another couple of attempts on her life, she thinks it’s her husband & vows to get everything she deserves & more.
I could not put this one down. I love Rachel & can’t wait to see what antics she gets up to in book 3. I’m looking forward to more interactions with Khalan. Grab this series, you won’t be disappointed.
This is a laugh out loud, emotionally thrilling, action packed adventure filled with engaging charters, witty banter, heart racing twists and exciting turns….. a great read from beginning to end. Really enjoyed this journey!
Part of The Vampire Housewife Series. A divorce, an attempted murderer, drama, danger, glamour, and unpredictable, a good story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Rachel Katherine Jones, a recently turned vampire after a snowplow accident, laid on the floor in fear over the horrible pain in her heart. Heart attack? Or may this was just the discovery that her husband, Miles, was having an affair with her best friend Nikki? She got up to fix breakfast for her girls. Arianna was angry that she had lied when they asked if daddy had a girlfriend, as she had heard from a friend in school. Gabby, the youngest, was upset but still talking to her mom.
Liz Thomas, a neighbor and one of the members of the wine club that masqueraded as a book club, stopped by to talk to Rachel. The past Friday night had been the black-tie event at the country club and Rachel had learned that Miles had lied about it being a one-time thing with Nikki – they had been together for over a year, which everyone knew. Rachel confronted him in front of everyone at the party and announced they were getting a divorce. Now Liz was telling her everyone had been in shock at the party – not because of what Miles did, but because ALL of them thought Rachel knew all along! Even Liz thought that!
Heading to the garage to move the car out and take the kids to school, the heavy doors didn’t open. Rachel used her strength to open them, moved the car out, but when she went to close the doors, they fell on her. She scrambled out and held the doors so the kids could safely pass under. Then she went to see her attorney about a divorce. But Miles had been there first. Everyone seemed to want her to make amends with Miles, even though he was the cheater. More incidents occurred, and it became pretty obvious that someone was probably trying to kill her, but why? She hadn’t harmed anyone and Miles was the dishonorable one. And why were her “friends” not there for her? What was going on?
This is a good mystery where no one seems to be behaving as expected. Rachel has to deal with one thing after another while everything goes Miles’ way? Grab your copy and find out who is after Rachel. There are strange things going on!
Rachel Jones is struggling with turning into a vampire. She has learned how to get blood without taking it from humans. Despite her maker telling her she needs to accept her new life and leave her family and everyone behind, which she refused to do, she is adjusting. He is helping her but in a weird way, at times she finds herself a little attracted to him, I ‘m wondering if there will be a romance in future books. She is finding out although he is gruff he’s not such a bad guy. Now the soon to be ex is another story. Living the life as a rich doctor’s wife she thought she had a great life, until things went south, now she is finding out who her true friends are. Very good second book, I can’t wait for the next to see what happens.

Rachel is facing the awful, awkward and acrimonious fallout from divorce proceedings.
It is usually really disheartening to discover how many people want to be your buddy just to get details to dish to their cohorts. It stinks how few are really interested in being a true friend, putting themselves in the line of fire with the gossips, and heaven forbid, letting you anywhere near THEIR men – as if you would be desperate to hurt someone like you have been hurt.
On the upside, Rachel does have some glamour skills, and persuasive talents could only be useful during acrimonious negotiations.
On the downside, more people might be out to get Rachel than she can survive.
Intense and occasionally empowering , sometimes disheartening, journey of self exploration

Someone is trying to kill her, and she is dealing with her snotty “friends”. A great read, and I can’t wait for the next book!
