Jane, a shapeshifting vampire-hunter-for-hire, crosses paths with a stranger who has arrived in New Orleans, enlisted to hunt vampires who have gone insane-or so he says…
Life is finally going Jane’s way. She’s back home in her beloved mountains with her new boyfriend Rick. The mini vacation shatter when the new of weres are announced on live television.
She returns to NOLA to solve a confusing crime that makes her world change forever.
She’ll need her strength to recover from this battle.
I highly recommend the Jane Yellowrock series.

In this third installment of the Jane Yellowrock series, shape-shifter Jane is still in New Orleans and working for the Vampire Council under retainer as news that were-panthers have announced themselves. Werewolves have come out as well, returning to New Orleans and accusing Leo Pellisier, vampire Master of the City, of murder and illegally running them out of town years ago. Were representatives are set to meet with the vampires to work out a treaty, but the vampires refuse to deal with the werewolves. When a member of the were-panther delegation is murdered, Jane must find the killer, as well as discover what has become of Rick, her missing boyfriend who was working an undercover police investigation among the weres.
This was another fantastic adventure with a lot of familiar characters, as well as quite a few new ones. I can’t wait for the next book to see what Jane will get up to next.

Faith hunter does not write about Jane Yellowrock quickly (often) enough for my family. we devour her books and want her to write as quickly as we read. of course, we know she can’t; writing is harder. but we can wish and hope. i don’t give book precis when i write reviews. I’m telling you why you should read, not what it’s about. you should read this book if you like action, adventure, vampires, vampire hunters, shape shifters, and fun.

No rest for the weary! Faith Hunter does not let you fall asleep on this book! So typical of her! Hehe. She just grabs one by the throat and drags them along! What an incredible ride! I’m not big on giving out spoilers so I have to rave in some other manner. The characters are fully developed and the world is just rocking! We are given more history and details of the world. Faith Hunter writes a tight story with consistency and color! So much color! God, I’m loving this series!

Mercy Blade is book three in Jane Yellowrock series by Faith Hunter.
We are treated to strong characters, mythology that is rich and world-building that is detailed. I’m enjoying the books, but something is still off. It might be the men in Jane’s life.
In Mercy Blade we are presented with a conspiracy, a murder, deceit, surprises, action, twists and turns, and a touch of romance all ending with either the (worst or best) cliff-hanger ever.
Jane is one tough women who gets the job done, but on the inside she’s like everyone else, looking for her place in the world and to be loved. We get to learning a little more about Jane and Beast. I like how the author has combined both characters together.
In Mercy Blade shifters come out into the world and Jane has to learn to navigate this new world. I enjoyed the addition of new supernaturals.
As for the love interest(s). I’ve never been sold on any of the men in Jane’s life. I’ve always felt she could do better. Neither George or Rick have sold me, but in Mercy Blade Jane is with Rick.
I’m not a fan of Rick. Sure he’s sexy and tough, but he also keeps secrets and he cheats on her. Cheating is a one-way ticket out the door. It’s one thing I don’t like to read about, can’t forgive, and really upsets me. I don’t care if it’s part of the job, it’s a no no for me.
Then we have George, aka Brusier, and the Master Vamps blood servant. He tempts Jane, but she knows that she will always come second in his life and not first. But she is also starting to see that she’s not first in Rick’s either.
The series has been fun, action-packed, and intense at times. I’m a fan of our heroine. She is a women after my own heart. (She loves tea ^_^) If you enjoy Urban Fantasy then give Jane Yellowrock a try. After that ending in Mercy Blade. I’m diving into the next book Raven Cursed.
