WARNING
There are memories and actual scenes in the story that could be triggers for those who have suffered abuse. I did my best to shelter the reader at the more abusive parts while bringing to life this story of darkness meeting mercy, (who is a woman named Mercy, in this story). So read with caution.
As a sadomasochist, Sade just wants to get and give pain in manageable and somewhat legal … pain in manageable and somewhat legal doses.
All Mercy wants is to walk in her father’s footsteps–a man who sacrificed everything to save her from a life of abuse and suffering.
When Mercy finds an envelope on her doorstep leading her to Sade, the result is a collision of pain and mercy.
For Sade, Mercy’s kindness is dessert for his sadism, and her strength has his masochism hot and begging. Exploiting both for his own pleasure is his plan until he realizes that Mercy’s got her own love bites game. And playing it requires something he’s never had.

This is the story of Mercy, a young woman who endured unbelievable horrors at the hands of traffickers as a child. She was then saved by her father who taught her how to fight and win. He helped her become interested in nursing and martial arts, and two weeks after his death, she gets notes on a patient he was trying to assist…a young man named Johnathan whose street name was Sade. He has a sadistic/machoistic personality from his upbringing and loves to be beaten…becoming Mercy’s project to see his past as just that, the past, while looking for a different future…but you will need to read this story to see if either can become what society calls normal. Mercy believes it’s her mission to save Sade. They are both broken, they heal one another, and fall in love. Good book, well written!

Talk about a story that rips your heart out and leaves your guts exposed. I did not think I would like this story as much as I did. In fact I loved it. I cried, I laughed, I was nervous and I kept wishing things could be different but I fell in love with both Sade and Mercy. The strength each one has and the amazing emotional journey they are on together brings them so close. I am anxiously waiting for the next book.

This is a love story but there is a huge cliffhanger and it is not a typical love story. This is about two broken souls who come together I the most unlikely way. It is intriguing, no-one is as they seem and there is a lot of violence. However, the story pulls you in and makes you want to uncover all the secrets. Certainly not for the faint of heart but gripping and compelling until the end.
My initiation to this author and I’m thrilled to of read this psychological, kinky and sexy book. I found the storyline was unique, with varied characters from the breakers, to the broken and the saviours. Warning this book finishes on a cliffhanger but the trilogy is complete. So get ready for one hell of a ride and a little whiplash.
Mercy says her final goodbye to her father when she finds an envelope, with a name. Johnathon Lee Ashcroft AKA Sade, her father obviously left unfinished business. So she decides to pay him a visit to see if she can help him. Shock would be an understatement at their first meeting, trepidation their second and stupidity the third.
Who is this woman that has collided into Sade’s life, making him have mixed emotions? Trusting her does not come easy, he hatches a plan to get the truth. What the hell did he just sign up for, he certainly never expected to agree to these terms. He’s suffered immeasurably, has been backed into a corner and his only release is pain.
Whoa. Well that was one hell of a cliffy. After I get over that, I need to take a cold shower.
I stumbled across this author on a GR poll the other day, so I thought I would check this book out. I’m so glad I did. I really liked it! You know what I appreciate? Great writing. I like to feel that I’m right in there with the characters, and I really felt that with this book. Especially during the fun times. *wink wink*.
I can’t express enough how much I loved Mercy. I loved that even though she had a horrific childhood, she didn’t let that stop her from helping Sade. Mercy is such a badass to boot! Girl can kick some ass. I thought it was perfect example of two broken people trying to fix themselves, yet doing it together. And even though Sade doesn’t initially want to, he knows that Mercy is worth battling his past for.
I’m seriously looking forward to the second book and I’ll for sure check out his other books.
This is such an amazing Series. I recommend it to everyone.
AMAZING!!
“Look into my soul. But you may not like what you see.”
Sade and Mercy are two people that were dealt a bad hand growing up. Now adults they are just trying to get by with what they know; how they know it. But, will that really work? Will they find themselves when they find each other or will they lose more?
Can’t wait to continue their story in the next book…
