A new second chance romance from Fabiola Francisco
The life I’m living was supposed to be ours, not just mine, and without her it means nothing.
I couldn’t climb on stage and sing to a crowd, knowing the one person my songs were meant for was miles away from me. Writing songs about her is the best I can do until she comes back because I know we’re not over. We’re just on pause, like your … pause, like your favorite song when you need a moment to take it in. But as soon as I find her, I’m pressing play on our love story.

This tale touched me so. I mean this author has a way with a story that just takes your heart and remolds it at will. Her characters start out young and in love and full of dreams of a life together but that’s not what happens. When tragedy hits words and actions in the heat of the moment propel them to parts unknown and alone. Their journey isn’t what they expect, but this author doesn’t take the easy way out. She takes us with her and makes us feel it all. She doesn’t go easy because that’s not her style. We feel their pain, the disappointment, the loss, the separation, we feel it all. Then as they heal as they grow as they come to the place where they are restored we feel their peace. It isn’t as easy as I make it sound but it sure is a wonderful journey thru their story.
I love this author and her quiet style of writing. This is a book from the heart and this author does these kinds of reads in a way that takes you there and puts you into the story daring you not to be invested in her characters. Her characters love deeply, their sexy without being erotic, angst without unneeded drama, broken but able to heal. It’s not insta-love, it’s a second chance at forever.
I absolutely loved Hunter and MacKenzie’s story. It was so heartfelt, tragic, and angsty I was tearing up a lot but in a good way. Their story was heartbreaking and watching them hurt was tragically beautiful.
Ms. Francisco has done it again. Memories of Us is a story that shows you never forget your first love, even when you try. Sometimes those memories can haunt us, they don’t let us forget and they bring us back to the people and places that we love the most, remind us who we are and where we come from. This book falls somewhere between drowning your sorrows in tequila shots while listening to your favorite country song and watching the sunset over the hills, while sipping sweet tea from a rocking chair on a rickety porch. Memories of Us is second chance romance on another level. Hunter and Kenzie’s story is packed full of angst, heartache, romance, steam and has the perfect makings of a southern fairytale! Do yourself a favor and one click this incredible story, that reads like your favorite country song, and tugs on every heart string!
Holy smokes… This book truly touched my heart. The characters fighting to get back to each other, I felt like in was right by their side each step of their journey. I cried and laughed as Hunter and Kenzie worked thru all their issues, I could feel the love flying out of my kindle. I couldn’t stop reading this I had to know what was going to happen… Now that I am done, I want more of their story..
My first book by Fabiola but definitely not my last!!
Right now, one of my favorite tropes is a second chance with the first love and Fabiola knocked this one right out of the park!!
High school sweethearts that had their whole future planned out, until one night. Words that can’t be unsaid or unheard. Mackenzie fled and swore her family to secret about her location and has never returned home. Hunter packed up and left to live the life they dreamed of….a life that is empty and void of love. Hunter pines for Mackenzie and pours every ounce of emotion into his songwriting.
When the opportunity to show up at Mackenzie’s doorstep presents itself…..Hunter flies across the country to do so. Can he convince Mackenzie to forgive him so they can have the future they always dreamed of or is too late??
All the feels woven into this beautifully told 2nd chance romance! My heart was invested in Hunter and Mackenzie’s journey from the start, and I couldn’t put this book down. I loved how Mackenzie and Hunter found their way back to each other! Hunter didn’t give up, and I loved that! Giving up wasn’t an option. The characters are raw and real. This book is a fight for a second chance, and a love that never went away. It has pain, heartbreak, and forgiveness. This pair is made for each other. Wonderful writing! Sign me up for your next book Fabiola!
Memories of Us is a beautifully written small-town love song with a country hook. It’s filled with heart and soul, pain and regret.
Fabiola Francisco takes you on an emotional journey where following your dreams sometimes leads to broken ones, but if you follow your heart, your forever can be found.
I couldn’t put this book down!! Hunter and Mackenzie fought through so much to get together. I laughed and cried throughout the entire book. Fabiola Francisco knows how to write angst. I’m completely in love.
There are some books that you start reading and you think “yeah, I want to know what happens next.’ And then there are books that you start and think ‘I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT.’
This is that book. I was invested in this book on page one.
Y’all. I kid you not when I say that I didn’t go to sleep until 7 AM because I was reading Memories of Us…
Between the hours of midnight and 7AM, I only did three things: read, listen to Drunk Me by Mitchell Tenpenny on repeat, and stare at the ceiling when I told myself to go to sleep (which didn’t happen so I went back to reading).
If you haven’t preordered this book yet, DO IT! I have literally felt every. single. emotion. I cried when they cried. I laughed when they laughed. I was in it with them. I was with these two mentally and emotionally from the start.
I have a lot of time on my hands at the moment so I’ve been going through books pretty quickly and in all honesty, I’ve read some AMAZING books lately but it’s been a little bit since I’ve felt so emotionally attached to a book and its characters. (I’ve had a few but not as many as I would’ve liked, you know?)
Y’all. This book. Gah! You need this book!
(You will also need chocolate, some tissues, extremely depressing country music, and your choice of alcohol.)
I don’t really want to say anything surrounding the story because I honestly don’t want to give even a word of this away prior to others reading. I think everyone just needs to get this book and devour it.
Word of advice: start reading in the morning and in private so you can read the whole thing. You won’t want to stop reading it once you pick it up!
Memories of Us is more than a second chance romance. It’s more than a couple trying to find each other again. Memories of Us is what the best country songs are made of. It takes you deep into the heart of your soul as you learn the story of Hunter and Mackenzie. I felt every agonizing decision this couple made that tore them apart. I cried for the forgiveness that was sought and I held out hope that everyone would find happiness with or without each other.
This author has written a series about musicians and songwriters and her talent is evident in the lyrics she creates that fit perfectly in each story. She brings cowboys and country life in full detail along with small town living and gossip. I am obsessed with this entire series and Memories of Us wrapped this series with a big red bow. This story can be read as a standalone and it is told in dual points of view which made it even more special. Pick up this book immediately but be prepared to read this one all night or at red lights because once you start it, there’s no putting it down.
We’ve all been waiting for Hunter’s story and Fabiola didn’t disappoint!
Hunter and Kenzie share a romantic history of happiness and dreams that was torn apart by heart breaking circumstance. Both trying to move on but somehow still stuck in that one moment in time.
Hunter is a songwriter struggling to find his balance after he lost her. It isn’t until Hunter returns home to face the damage that he decides to take action.
“Im stuck on rewind, staring at memories of us and the life we lost, wondering how I got this wrong”
But MacKenzie turns out not to be so easy to forgive and forget. Broken, Kenzie left without a word to pursue her career and attempt to form a new life. While she was able to escape, she is really only hiding from the one person who can put her back together. She needs Hunter to prove he is still the man she once loved. She needs him to help remind her they shared more memories than the one they thought was their demise. No matter how hard she fights, it is apparent where her love lies.
“Maybe we each hold the compass the other has been missing all this time”
Memories of Us is a second chance romance that will touch your heart and make you feel all gooey inside. Its about growth and promise with a side note of family and friends. All the Feels!
I’ve been looking forward to Hunter’s book for awhile now and it was good. It’s a second chance romance which is one of my favorites. Hunter and Mackenzie were high school sweet hearts who had everything planned for their happily ever after. But things don’t always work out as planned. This story was sad to read at times because you could tell Hunter was hurting so bad with his actions.
Mackenzie can come off as standoffish but when you find out the reasoning it makes perfect sense. I just wanted to reach into my kindle and give her a hug. I loved both characters but at times they could be SO stubborn. Y’all are made for each other. Yes, things didn’t go the you planned it but that’s life. So stop delaying the inevitable and get it together!
Fabiola Francisco is an author who I recently discovered and I’ve grown to love her books so much. The writing was good, the story flowed and the drama wasn’t drawn out and over the top. We had some sweet, tender and angsty moments. Everything I love in a second chance romance.
Boy oh boy Fabiola does it again!!!! what an amazing and powerful story!! I just couldn’t put it down! it was so heartfelt and raw! it had me crying for half of the book! you will feel everything the characters are feeling and more!! be prepared! you will be amazed!!
Another beautifully written book by Fabiola Francisco. She has the talent to make you swoor high with her characters and than cry along with them when they fall back down to earth. Hunter and Kenzie’s second chance at love involves redemption and forgivness. As soon as the characters let their past go than they can truly embrace their love and their future. Another amazing book by this amazing author!
I shared this thought on my FB as soon as I finished it, and I feel that it perfectly describes my feelings on this books… “Normally I’m a “Beast” type, but every once in a while I want a “White Knight”… and Hunter is the perfect country white knight in shinning amour. Twang and all. Y’all, this girl can write a country love story to make anyone swoon!”
I stick by this completely! Second chance stories always make me anxious, cause I go in wondering “Will they overcome it?” “Can their love give them all that they need…?”… literally, like my heart races cause I know it’s gonna break right along with the characters, and will the author be able to put my heart back together?! Fabiola did that and more, bringing Hunter and Mackenzie to be stronger after all the heartache. An added bonus is that my favorite characters from the Rebel Desire series, are along for the ride as well.
If you are looking for a story that will give you all the country love feels, this is for you. I’ll be adding this beauty to my bookshelf as soon as I can, knowing that I’ll be rereading it when ever that need strikes me.
Memories of Us is officially my top favorite from Fabiola Francisco! I was quite skeptic going into this because the hero’s name is Hunter and that’s my sons name, and who wants to read a book where the character has the same their child? I worried needlessly because I was transported to a whole new world where my son didn’t exist in my mind while I was between the pages.
Hunter and Kenzie’s story was driven by emotional highs and lows, one minute this couple had me in tears and in the next I was swooning, because Hunter is what book boyfriends should be made of. These two have lived a lifetime together and apart that would break most people but Hunter stayed strong in his convictions of love, even when he knew that he was the reason for them being apart.
Memories of Us reminded me of Loving on You at times with it’s angsty undercurrents, even though it wasn’t an overall angst filled read. I really enjoyed getting to spend time with Cash and the rest of Rebel Desire for a while, I am completely caught up in this world! I hope to see more from serveral characters we have met in Memories of Us and All of You, namely Dex and Reese, but I would also like one from Kenzi’s friend Chelle. Basically, I want to just live in these stories.
Memories of Us is a second chance romance filled with the makings of a a country song you will want to listen to on repeat. I couldn’t get enough of Hunter and Mackenzie!
Country music romance fans, this is the book for you! This is the story of high school sweethearts Hunter & Mackenzie. They had plans to follow their dreams together. But one night of bad decisions tears them apart and they go their seperate ways. 3 years later Hunter comes home to see his family and to fix some relationships. The one relationship he can’t seem to fix is with the love of his life that got away. He finally catches his break and finds her. And he saves her from a life that she didn’t know she needed saving from. But forgiveness doesn’t come easy. Mackenzie fights him all along the way. He hurt her heart bad and she isn’t sure she can forgive him. Hunter isn’t sure he can truly forgive himself. This is their journey. Him trying to win her back. Her trying to resist to protect her heart. This is a must read. You will fall in love with this couple quickly.
I just love Hunter. We start the book out with his point of view. And we do get Mackenzie’s but I felt more connected to Hunter. And I was totally on his side the whole story. I felt his regret and pain strongly. Who hasn’t made a mistake and said something in the heat of the moment they wish they could take back? But I did understand Mackenzie. It’s hard when someone you trust with your hear fully breaks it. Heartbreak is a terrible pain and who wants to go through that again? These two characters struggle was so easy to get lost in. I found myself not able to put the book down until it was finished.
Another cool aspect was getting a look into the world of song writing. Hunter is a song writer for country music. His dream was to be a singer himself but he couldn’t do it without Mackenzie. This story is full of lyrics that I wish were real songs!
Go read this book now. You will love it. I know I did!
Hunter has made so many mistakes. One of those mistakes was losing the only girl he will ever love- Kenzie. He has worked hard to get where he is, writing music for Rebel Desire- but he still needs her. He goes home after 3 years, his momma asked him to be there, even though he knows it will be tough. Growing up, living life, and changing in many ways is part of how finding Kenzie again will happen. He will not give up on finding her, showing her he will not give up on them. He will ALWAYS love her. The song lyrics, the descriptions of their favorite places, and Hunters determination are a few of my favorite parts in this country love story. Grab it! You will love it!
“If you’re listening, my feels are stronger than the watermill”
~Hunter
Mackenzie and Hunter are like a song that becomes your new favorite from the first moment it comes on. 3 years ago life was turned on its axis for Kenzie and Hunter and since then they have been adrift as they live apart. Ever word Hunter writes and sings means little without Kenzie. He’s just counting time until he can get her back. Kenzie left with a broken heart and uses her anger with Hunter to mask her love for him. These two are three chords and the truth away from their HEA, but it’s going to take some patient and passion.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book
Fabiola Francisico has penned yet another beautifully heartfelt, fiesty and sexy read. Memories of Us is an epic second-chance romance with all the feels!!!
The dynamic between Hunter and MacKenzie is brutally angsty. This book is utterly addictive and has some painfully heartbreaking moments for both characters that make you want to reach through the pages and hug them.
I have enjoyed my time with the Rebel Desire crew and getting Hunter’s story was a total gift.
Memories of Us is that one country song that lives and breathes in your heart and mind forever. You’ll never forget this touching story.
