Charming, debonair, and impeccably attired in a black tuxedo, Dean Martin was coolness incarnate. His music provided the soundtrack of romance, and his image captivated movie and television audiences for more than fifty years. His daughter Deana was among his most devoted fans, but she also knew a side of him that few others ever glimpsed. In this heartfelt memoir, Deana recalls the constantly … constantly changing blended family that marked her youth, along with the unexpected moments of silliness and tenderness that this unusual Hollywood family shared. She candidly reveals the impact of Dean’s fame and characteristic aloofness, but delights in sharing wonderful, never-before-told stories about her father and his pallies known as the Rat Pack. This enchanting account of life as the daughter of one of Hollywood’s sexiest icons will leave you entertained, delighted, and nostalgic for a time gone by.

The book was very informative how he started in show business…..like he was born to be a successful movie star. His stardom came naturally for him…..always the boy from Stubenville, OH and never forgot his roots. Took care of his kids and Jean. Movie stars are very hard to live with and this showed in the book. Sorry he divorced Jean and …
An interesting account of a good family man whose life was more complex than he would admit.
For those of us who still like to listen to Dino – a fine biography. A nice guy. We lost him too soon. But at least we can still enjoy his voice.
I grew up with Dean Martin on the television and on the record player. I felt this book in a very personal way as it reminded me of all my life events along with all of the feelings that went with it. I had not expected to like this book as much as I did.
I was too young to be a fan of Dean Martin but my mother was. I really enjoyed
reading this book by his daughter Deana. They had an interesting life, not
all of it was good.
Writing is that of an amateur but it was informative and interesting.
Informative if you are a Dean Martin fan. Some interesting anecdotes about Dean and the Rat Pack as well as other celebrities of the time.
Wonderful and inspirational
Have always loved this man, great to know about him.
Interesting biography that included the good and the bad. His daughter didn’t hold back, but you always knew he was her father and he could do no wrong in her eyes. She loved him unconditionally. Book got a bit long and I put it aside for a week, then resumed reading and finished it. He reminded me of other men of that era, especially my own …
Loved the book. I have always been a big fan of Dean Martin. Love the fact that it was written by his daughter.
The author is the daughter of Dean Martin and she certainly gave a fresh perspective on a deeply complicated man. It’s not always a pretty picture but it is a complete one from a loving daughters viewpoint. I thought I knew all there was to know, but I was pleasantly surprised. I very much enjoyed this book and I recommend it to any Dean Martin …
It was interesting to see how a man that was loved my millions was so introverted. Did not change my thoughts on Dean, just felt sorry for him. By5 he loved his kids and family and his close friends. Rat pack was an awesome time.
Lovely story about Dean Martin’s life from his namesake daughter. Interesting family dynamics…who knew Dean was drinking apple juice on the set of his TV show and the stages in Las Vegas!
Great read! Couldn’t put it down. What a story! It’s my history, my family in a Dean Martin wrapper, my childhood of the fifties, sixties! Oh the choices adults make in spite of their children! How do children survive their childhoods? This book brought back so many memories for me, movies, tv shows, Las Vegas of the sixties, crazy family …
This I enjoyed immensely. Made me feel like I knew him. He was such a
favorite of mine. His daughter made everything very real and true to life.
A good father, although he wasn’t around much. But he loved them all.
it was OK. It is interesting about Dean Martin’s life. I think the book is a lot longer than is should be. i
I enjoyed this book because at my age I remember this TV show and also his shows and movies with Jerry Lewis.
Honest portrayal of one of my favorite singers.
Another instance of someone who has fame, money, and a family and yet never realized true happiness and satisfaction.
