“You couldn’t ask for a finer guide to the future — or the past — than Doug Molitor.” — Larry Gelbart (A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, M*A*S*H, Tootsie)In this fast-paced, thrilling journey through time, archaeologist David Preston comes into possession of a baseball supposedly signed by the legendary Ty Cobb in 1908, thanks to Ariyl Moro and her mysterious companion, Jon … Jon Ludlo. Except the ball tests out to be an impossible paradox. It was signed with a ballpoint pen (not invented until 1938) using ink that’s several centuries older. But then, Ariyl and Ludlo aren’t who they claim to be either.
Ariyl, a voluptuous 6-foot-3 beauty, turns out to be a tourist from a 22nd century paradise where time travel is the latest craze. Unbeknownst to her, however, her traveling companion, Ludlo, is a psychopath whose thefts are starting to alter history. In a world were even small changes in the timeline can cause catastrophic consequences, Ludlo’s actions may completely destroy the future.
To stop Ludlo, David and Ariyl must solve a mystery involving Bronze Age swordsmen, modern-day Nazis, a steampunk world, Albert Einstein, some highly skeptical Founding Fathers, and a Golden Age Hollywood where the murder of a beloved movie star will spell doom for civilization.
Sci-fi meets romantic comedy…with sword-swinging adventure!

If you’re a physics fan, this is for you. Will bend your mind inside out.
Great time travel story from a very different angle from other time travel stories. Very entertaining.
a different take on time travel. i was a bit baffled by the scientific advances in the future after such planetary chaos on earth. maybe that would be explained in another story?
I liked as the characters moved through the past a lot of interesting facts were talked about so it was even sort of a learning story while at the same time a suspenseful and romantic story
Fun. I could willingly suspend disbelief on much of it..
It was fun, not too serious, and I enjoyed the historical people and references.
Great plot with lots of twists and turn. Humorous and thoroughly enjoyable.
This was an entertaining time travel book with a little romance thrown in. I also enjoyed the prior book.
A fun little book that I started and finished in a day. (If I don’t like a book I’ll stretch it out to a couple or three days)
Lots of twists and turns, action in different times, all around a great little story.
Dave is an Archeologist. He has a former room mate who plays baseball and on one fateful day, Dave has come to ask him to stay away from his sister. They are practically accosted by a fellow who wants the ball players autograph. There is also a very beautiful 6ft plus woman with a very strange accent with him.
At his current dig site this woman suddenly appears and digs up a valuable artifact with her bare hands. It is like she knew exactly where it had been buried.
As she tries to leave with the item he grabs her and so begins the adventure of time traveling. The woman’s name is Ariyl, pronounced similarly to the mermaid and her friend is Ludlo. He has removed the “safeties” from the time machine that prevents him from doing anything that will alter the time line. Have you ever heard about the butterfly effect? Here we get several lessons in how minute changes cause a ripple through the ages.
Yes, there is sex, and violence mostly implied and never fully described. Enjoy the story.
Good Idea for the story, jumps from one predicament to the next. good hook for a series of alternate history scenarios.
I guess I just wasn’t in the right mood for this book. I found it difficult to understand or identify with the protagonists and found it totally unbelievable.
Excellent book on time travel (the title says it all). I really did not like the opening chapter and I encourage the reader to go through it: your patience will be rewarded. As it is the case in time-traveling novels, great care has been taken to be consistent with the theoretical parameters of science but with some new and original twists that make the case for this and the other books in the series.
time travel is confusing. sometimes it is hard to keep up with where are they or is it when are they. fun and entertaining. quick read.
I found this book disappointing mainly because the time traveler who accidentally becomes one has the same experiences over and over…kind of like the movie “ground hog day” without the humor. Great concept. I normally love time travel themed novels…but this one just sort of stopped and if you liked it you could by the next in the series. Book 1 just didn’t go far enough and draw out the characters with any depth. The writer has talent to be sure…but it was like skating on ice as opposed to swimming in the water.
Cute time-traveling historical book. Reminded me a little of Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, which I loved. A little bit of language and sex, but not overpowering. Touched on a lot of historical settings, including baseball, Minoans, and the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Satisfying ending, but it’s obvious there is more to there story.
Boring. Stupid plot. Poor writing.
This authors product is coincidentally great and entertaining.
Kind of a light weight. Tried to be gunny but also serious. The depiction of some historical characters (Regan and Cobb) were extremely inaccurate and biased. Could have been alot better.
Lots of funny parts.
