“You couldn’t ask for a finer guide to the future — or the past — than Doug Molitor.” — Larry Gelbart (A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, M*A*S*H, Tootsie)In this fast-paced, thrilling journey through time, archaeologist David Preston comes into possession of a baseball supposedly signed by the legendary Ty Cobb in 1908, thanks to Ariyl Moro and her mysterious companion, Jon … Jon Ludlo. Except the ball tests out to be an impossible paradox. It was signed with a ballpoint pen (not invented until 1938) using ink that’s several centuries older. But then, Ariyl and Ludlo aren’t who they claim to be either.
Ariyl, a voluptuous 6-foot-3 beauty, turns out to be a tourist from a 22nd century paradise where time travel is the latest craze. Unbeknownst to her, however, her traveling companion, Ludlo, is a psychopath whose thefts are starting to alter history. In a world were even small changes in the timeline can cause catastrophic consequences, Ludlo’s actions may completely destroy the future.
To stop Ludlo, David and Ariyl must solve a mystery involving Bronze Age swordsmen, modern-day Nazis, a steampunk world, Albert Einstein, some highly skeptical Founding Fathers, and a Golden Age Hollywood where the murder of a beloved movie star will spell doom for civilization.
Sci-fi meets romantic comedy…with sword-swinging adventure!

Sounds strange, but I enjoyed the writing style as much as, maybe more than, the story itself. Very fun.
The plot was something that holds the reader’s attention.
A good book with twists and turns. If you liked the tv show sliders you will like this book.
Very entertaining story how the Author combines the novelty of future vacation time travel with how to fix the abuses of such travelers. Makes reader think about history as just events of randomness or an actual time line that can be reconstructed. If can be reconstructed, what could it look like.
Brings up some unusual situations for the time travelers. I particullary liked the girl from the future.
Interesting premise. Kept me involved
Interesting book about time travel
Good yarn! The author uses real events to make the story more interesting, well done!
so good i read it twice.
If I could go forward -or backward- in time, I think the travelers in this yarn would make entertaining, although occasionally infuriating, companions. Not a heavy read, but sometimes light reading is the most therapeutic use of your time.
Of all the books I have read I did not expect much of this one. it was, however, most entertaining and kept me turning pages to see what happens next.
This was an enjoyable read, although as a NZer, some of the USA-centric references were lost on me. I enjoyed the forays into the past, especially the ones thousands of years into the past! The nod to the golden years of Hollywood was a particular favourite part of the story. A small cast, which made it easy to follow the storyline. I’m not sure I’ll read book #2, but I might. I enjoyed the story.
Very interesting read
Engaging and genuinely literate. Real history is presented in believable fiction, even when the story line is fantasy (time travel). I don’t generally “bite” for succeeding volumes in a series, but I’m tempted with this one!
Good story, nice to explore changes of setting for time travels, enjoyed the splashes of historical context and impact for relationships.
When I started reading I didn’t think I was going to stay with it, but there is something just strange and weird enough about the characters and what they are going through that I’m going to stick it out to the end now. It’s quirky and a bit campy, but the whimsy is what makes it fun.
I love books about time traveling. They are so interesting and characters in this book are too. It is a very interesting read with some surprises that left me wondering what if this really happened?
Great read. Time hoping to try to stop history being changed. Enjoyed all the simple things that could change ones future. Recommend this fantasy book.
I really loved this book, easy and interesting read. Very entertaining and great twist on a love story.
I am currently reading this book, and it’s a riot. The timeline must be fixed, but the the one you are helping do so is a super strong, six foot three, clueless bombshell, who, as the author notes, has an hourglass figure that is more like an hour and a half.” Makes it rather difficult to move unnoticed through time.
