A dark Chemistry lab. A fake British accent. It’s all fun and games until somebody falls in love. When sixteen-year-old, Ashlyn Brooks, runs into a sweet British guy in the dark Chemistry lab, she has no idea she’s actually sitting in the pitch black room with her longtime rival, Luke Davenport. She also doesn’t know that she’s stepped into another one of the football captain’s pranks. It isn’t … pranks. It isn’t long before she’s sharing things she’s never told anyone, and starting to fall for the mysterious guy with a sexy accent who seems to understand her in a way no one ever has before.
When Luke’s mom dies the summer before his senior year, he turns to pranking Ashlyn to keep his mind off his loss. But the more he gets to know her, the more he regrets using his fake British accent in the first place. Soon Luke is walking the thin line of keeping his lies a secret and wishing he could tell her that the boy she’s falling for is really him.

Judy Corry does an amazing job with her newest book, Meet Me There. I loved how the two rivals fell for each other. If you like sweet romance with witty dialogue and endearing characters, you’ll love this book!
This book made me feel feelings a book hasn’t made me feel in a while. Judy Corry definitely did a excellent job of developing a beautifully created book. I loved it so much I had to get the Kindle version plus the paperback.
I definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves to swoon, laugh, or even get a little emotional. This book makes a perfect read for anytime of year-a cute summer read or a book to curl up with in the winter.
I loved Luke and Ashley’s personalities. I love how the author didn’t make Luke a male that thinks he needs to be strong all the time. Yes, he didn’t tell anyone about his mother, but after we learn Luke is actually an emotional person, he opens up to Ashley about his life. I love that.
For the overall content of the book, it was completely clean from my remembrance.
I’m so in love with this series! What a way to start & my heart is still pounding over Luke Davenport! I maybe 40 but I just sometimes love to read a good, clean YA Teen Romance. Meet Me There is about two rivals in HS that love to pull pranks on one another. Luke never realized pulling the biggest prank on Ashlyn would backfire on him. This was one of the sweetest stories I’ve read in a while. I cannot wait to start on Jess & Eliana’s story!
Wow! This book was my first introduction to Judy Corry’s books, and I finally get what all the hype was about, lol 😉 her writing is addictive, and if I had the time, I definitely would have read it in one sitting. I loved Ashlyn and Luke’s story, their shared prank-war past, as well as their getting to know more of their (real) selves throughout the book.
I liked that the story dealt also with heavier issues but in a respectful way (teen facing pressure from their parents, as well as verbal abuse by an ex, during and after their relationship; physical abuse/hitting from a parental figure; a parent thinking about suicide; a teenage dealing with anxiety attacks), while at the same time it was interspersed with different interesting activities, like learning to dance for a competition or training as part of being on the drill team.
Overall, a beautiful, Clean/Sweet YA story with characters that felt real and made me care for them. I seriously can’t wait to dive into Eliana and Jess’ story 🙂 ~ 5 star
Rating:
This was SUCH a GOOD book. I loved it so much. I’ve read a couple of books with a concept like this one but this has got to be my favourite. The characters were so well made. They had a background, their feelings were there, and their thoughts were a great place to be in. I loved all the silly pranks and the whole story, to be honest. I loved the small details that made the story up. There was so much going on but it was still easy to follow and understand. I liked that there was some seriousness in the story. The author’s writing style was incredible. I was captured into the book and tried to read whenever I got the chance.
Ashlyn and Luke don’t like each other. Luke started pulling little stunts on Ashlyn when they were in the same class the year before. Then he started it up again as soon as the first day of school started. Ashlyn pranks him back whenever she gets the chance. Luke’s mom recently passed and is hiding out in chem lab away from the counsellor and her do-gooders. Ashlyn’s ex-boyfriend approaches her and insults her based on a prank that Luke started. She hides out in the chem lab to keep her tears at bay. Luke decides to fake a British accent so that she isn’t able to figure out who he is.
It’s a wonderful YA romance and I really hope I get the chance to read the rest of the series.
I received a review copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Love the angsty teen drama and chemistry of these books. Fun reads. Reminds me of books like The Practice Boyfriend (The Boyfriend Series Book 1) and P.S. I Like You
I just finished this book last night. I really enjoyed it! Luke and Ashlyn made me smile throughout the book. It was such a sweet and wonderful book.
I discovered Judy Corry’s books this week and have read three of them on Kindle Unlimited. I have this thing about borrowing the books, if I really LOVE them I buy them. I do that because I love being able to revisit the pages whenever I want. I am in process of buying all three of Judy’s books!
Judy Corry has become one of my favorite authors. Judy proves that you can tell a story that is passionate, funny, swoony, without smut and bad language.
I have one more of the author’s books to read!!! I can’t wait to read new books by her!
This book has been on my Kindle for a while and I just got to it. This was a sweet, clean, book that I really enjoyed reading. I was drawn in by pranks and pulled farther in by Luke’s sad story. I found it hard to believe that Ashlyn wouldn’t recognize Luke’s voice, but was able to suspend my doubt to enjoy the book–which is not usually the case. I was in suspense to see when the truth would be revealed, and I liked seeing characters from Corry’s other book, Don’t Forget Me alongside these characters. The ending tied in well. No spoilers from me! I hate it when people do that in a review. It’s a review, not a summary.
Things are not always what they appear to be, and people’s actions are not always motivated by the things you think they are. In Meet Me There, Ashlyn learns this lesson in a big way.
Author Judy Corry only has a few published books so far, but I have really loved them all. With so many young adult books being so dark and angsty, her books are such a breath of fresh air. Despite the sometimes serious nature of the themes, she manages to keep them light-hearted and sweet. And her characters are so fun. I love that her high schoolers speak well, don’t swear, don’t drink or do drugs at their parties, aren’t all about sex and are okay with being good kids. (For the most part, of course!)
Ashlyn is so cute. She is just the right blend of confident and insecure. Her love for dance is something that drives much of what she does, and she is playful and creative. Her idea for how to get Luke to loosen up when they get paired together for a project is so fun. All I will say about it is that the cover of the book should have shown her holding a panda head, not flowers. (Judy Corry, that dress she is wearing on the cover is just perfect for that scene!)
I found it so fun that Luke’s nefarious plan as he pretended to be “British Boy” backfired on him. The way they had their innocent meetings at lunch in the dark chemistry lab was just so sweet. Luke was very tender despite being the very talented captain of the football team. He was willing to open up to Ashlyn about his grief over the loss of his mom which just endeared him to me even more.
This story is part of a series but stands alone. The events in it actually take place before those in Don’t Forget Me, so you might even want to read it first. Whatever you do, be sure you read it.

I would like to thank Judy Corry for giving me this item. My opinion and review were not influenced by this gift.
Judy Corry’s Meet Me There was so much fun to read. It touched all the feels and I couldn’t put it down. Luke was pretty dreamy when I got to know him. And Ashlyn was a lot of fun. If you love my books Summer’s End and Kiss Me Already, you’ll love this great read.

A funny, feisty, sweet story.
I bought the entire Ridgewater High series and really enjoyed this story.
Ashlyn and Luke were funny, feisty and cheeky, yet serious, real and broken. My heart went out to Luke and his fractured home life. He was a huge softy and so adorable underneath his mischievousness. Ashlyn’s past hurts added to her beauty, along with her flaws.
This book was written about high school age young people but it will appeal to all ages with its compelling story about Ashlyn and her nemesis Luke as they grow from over-the-top practical jokers into friends and then more. This story has depth and a plot that has some interesting twists and turns. There were points where I laughed out loud and others where I cried. I highly recommend it!
There’s something so delicious about a secret identity romance and this one, set in a dark corner of a high school, was pure fun. Although I keep getting older, these teen romances will always hold a piece of my heart, catapulting me back to the good parts of my past.
Full of cuteness and fluff, I wasn’t expecting the thick ribbon of depth that I found. I loved watching the story unravel, as the characters grew and matured. I loved feeling different emotions, without wading into too much angst, and the dancing scenes were an added bonus.
Content: mild romance (kisses); mild moments of seriousness (death, bullying, abuse, etc)
Ashlyn and Luke are pulling pranks on each other and they seem to go from bad to worse. When Luke pretends to be a British guy it doesn’t take long before he realises that his prank is on its way overboard, but he has no idea how to handle the situation.
It’s a sweet story where our protagonists goes from enemies to friends, to… maybe something more? It feels a bit cumbersome, to be honest. I DO like both Ashlyn and Luke, and the way they get to know each other on a deeper level. I also like that the chapters change between the characters so we know what both are thinking.
I’ve been listening to the audiobook and I’m not sure how much the narrating affected my feelings for the book. When the male narrator did the British accent he sounded like an older man, not a teenager, and that kind of threw me off. Otherwise I actually enjoyed the British accent! So I guess I liked the book more than it seems, but maybe not as much as I hoped…?
3.5
This was a cute and clean teen romance. It reminded me a lot of “P.S. I Like You” by Kasie West. Im planning on reading the rest of the series.
