Debra Salonen’s Meet Me in Montana is another wonderful journey to Marietta, MT. Again, we are accompanying the McCall sisters. These sisters rival Mia and Meg Zabrinski, and that is a very high accolade. Amber is the middle sister. The sister that always plans her every move. The dependable sister. The methodical sister. Until she meets Trey Brandel! Their attraction is mutual, and irresistible. Their short romance leads to a love that neither can resist. As it often happens in life, they struggle to realize their love.
This story is beautiful, captivating, wonderful, and fun… so much fun! Trey’s mother, Dinah is lovable and mystifying. She sees life as a big picture. She’s like a north star, but will Amber and Trey heed her advice? Amber’s sisters and parents help the story proceed, as does Rev. Sam Zabrinski, the author’s heroine from Montana Miracle. Amber’s friends, Jerry and Ben, and their daughters play important roles too.
This story is also a study on our current times, and the struggles between our values and our lives. Trey’s father has lived his entire life with tunnel vision. His entire world revolves around his family owned magazine. Trey has never been an integral part of his father’s life in New York City… something he desperately seeks. Amber has the job of a lifetime with friends in California. It’s a job in which she has excelled… is appreciated and financially rewarded, but it’s not a job that soothes her heart. They both must decide what is more important… well respected occupations and their financial rewards… or everlasting love. Will they both have the courage to declare their love, and to only settle for a life together… in Montana?
Two people, Amber McCall and Trey Brande, who each believe they need to be someplace other than where they are. Brought to Montana by family obligations, they think of this as a temporary detour from their high-powered careers. Funny thing, their demanding careers aren’t nearly as rewarding as running a classy thrift shop and staging homes for Amber’s sisters house flipping business. Sparks fly but can they find what they’re looking for in a small Montana town?
Couple meet in Montana working on house. One from east coast, one from west coast.
Both quit their jobs ans move to Montana.
Loved the series.
Amber and Trey’s story in Meet Me in Montana by Debra Salonen, book two in her Property Sisters series has these two falling in love at first sight as they are about to pass each other like two ships in the night but also has them re-examining their priorities.
Amber McCall is more than ready to leave her lucrative job in the Bay Area to return home to Montana, buy into a boutique store and assist her sisters in flipping homes. Amber never lost her dream to have a career in design. Working as an apprentice for Trey Brandel to stage the Property Sisters first project just fuels her decision to return home. The problem is she in love with Trey who leaving on the next plane to New York. Magazine editor and skilled designer Trey finally has that offer of a job at his father’s art and design magazine. He is hoping this will give him a chance to reconnect with his father and the city he left when his parents divorced. Trey knew his time in Montana was temporary but leaving Amber is definitely a hardship; making him question if he is doing the right thing. Amber and Trey share an amazing night, under the stars at a retreat where they can get back to nature, discovering their off the charts chemistry, and magnetism. They worked well together decorating the house, where their strengths played off each, one where they fit together like puzzle pieces.
Ms. Salonen wrote a wonderful second chance story that is definitely not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sizzling chemistry, amusing banter, and charming characters giving Amber and Trye a chance to find their forever love. I highly recommend Meet Me in Montana to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I had such a good time with Amber and Trey, let alone being back in the Marietta, Montana world. Meet Me in Montana is the second title in the Property Sisters of Montana series, and we’ve met Amber and Trey in the first book, Montana Blueprint for Love – and there were some sparks floating around that for certain.
One woman returning home temporarily only to find that her heart could truly belong here again. One man in town temporarily, his life, as he sees it, is in the big city rebuilding family connections. When that spark ignites between Amber and Trey the what-ifs just flew through my mind. Their story has connections as Amber makes the decision to stay and build the career she’s always loved, one different than she now has, and make a new life for herself in this small town. Meeting, working with, and falling for Trey was a delightful bonus. They connect on so many levels – except his determination to reconnect with his father in New York City. One night will change everything. One woman will draw Trey in ways he never saw coming – and now he has to make a choice exactly where his future, his true future the one of his heart, lies.
Trey and Amber work so well together as a couple. They are realistic in their actions, their decisions, and the choices facing them. Watching them go from a spark that could begin a fling, to a fire that binds them emotionally was a delightful journey. Yes, there are choices that Trey has to make. Hard ones, the uncomfortable what do I really want kind of choices. So, you may call that angst – I call it a deciding moment in a man’s future because he can’t know the answer without exploring the possibility realistically. I was rooting for this couple throughout the laughter, the bantering, the loving, and the emotions of their story. If you love a really good, solid romance then you’ll want to pick up Meet Me in Montana and the Property Sisters of Montana series – now.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from Tule Publishing. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
This is such a fun series! MEET ME IN MONTANA is book 2 in Debra Salonen’s Property Sisters of Montana series and continues the story of the three McCall sisters. Amber has a successful career but her return to Montana leaves her wondering if it’s time to take her life in a different direction. She is the design sister for the sisters’ new venture and she is lucky that Trey Brandel, who is in town helping his Mom, has the experience to mentor her on her first foray into staging a house. Not only does he have a wealth of experience, his mother’s shop is a perfect place to find everything they need: a win-win situation. Amber and Trey are on different career trajectories, but they can’t deny there is something more there.
This was another enjoyable read by Salonen, who creates fun and interesting characters you can’t help rooting for. I love watching Amber and Trey navigate their relationship and the quirky and interesting secondary characters add depth to the storyline. I love this series and the behind -the-scenes type look at renovating and staging a home. The series is perfect for those who are HGTV junkies (like me) who are also looking for a HEA. This can be read as a stand-alone but reading both adds to the enjoyment. I can ’t wait for Jade’s story!

Meet Me in Montana is book 2 in the Property Sisters series by Debra Salonen and while this is a standalone reading the books in order gives you a better understanding as to how the Property Sisters came to be!
Amber McCall comes back home to see if she can find what is missing in her life, working with her sisters, getting back to designing, staging the flip house the sisters are working on and possibly becoming part owner to the town’s thrift and antique store.
Trey Brandel an accomplished interior designer and magazine editor is helping his mother recovery after a small accident while also helping in her thrift and antique store. He’s asked to take Amber under his wing and teach her more about interior design and staging for the flip house before he leaves for NY and his new magazine editor job with his father’s company.
Will these two let the sparks fly and light up the sky or will the miles between them dim the stars??
Meet Me in Montana is Amber’s story. These books have interesting characters and a strong sense of family. Amber is torn between the job family she has built in California and her own family in Montana. She is also crushing on Trey who is pulled between New York City with his father and Amber. I loved their journey to an HEA and could not put the book down.
I received this arc from Tule Publishing in exchange for an honest review. This the second in the series about the 3 McCall sisters. This book is about the middle sister, Amber who lives in the Bay Area and has a terrific job in investments. Amber again returns to Marietta to help her family stage an investment property that her parents need to sell so they can retire. She has always been interested in design and while home decides she will return to California and help her bosses sell their public offering and then return to Montana. There is a shop in Marietta being run by a newcomer named Dinah that she has fallen in love with. Dinah moved to Montana after a burglary gone bad in her home of New Orleans to open her trendy shop. She broke her ankle and her son Trey had come to help her in her shop. We met both Trey and Amber in the first book when she had first come home to help after her dad’s sickness.
Amber and Trey are both interested in design and she realizes how good he is at it. She asks him if he will mentor her and help her choose pieces to put in the staged home she is charged with getting ready for the showing. Trey is going to be moving to NYC to work for his dad as an editor for his art and design magazine with the plan to take it over. The two have a lot of chemistry and end up having a special night at a B&B known for stargazing and hot tubs before he goes. Both regret it wasn’t more. Both realize their lives are in different places and don’t want to try the long distance thing. Trey’s dad is anxious for him to get to NY so he leaves as soon as they set up the house.
Dinah mentions to Amber about becoming her partner in the shop and she agrees. This gives her a plan for her life in Marietta. We learn that Dinah possesses psychic tendencies and sees a future for Amber and Trey. Both of them miss the other. Trey is so busy learning everything since his dad has told him he is retiring because his new young wife is pregnant. There is a lot of angst as they both would like a different outcome.
I would recommend this book, it’s great to have another family series set in Marietta. The author did a good job of introducing us to all the characters and then having them appear in subsequent books. I look forward to Jade’s story.
Meet Me in Montana is the second of the three sisters’ stories n Property Sisters of Montana by Debra Salonen. I greatly enjoyed the first book but liked this one even more if that is possible. Perhaps it is because the couple have a clear history where they didn’t hurt each other right after high school. Amber McCall and Trey Brandel are comfortable making their own decisions and successful at doing that very thing.
I loved how the three sisters are making their way back home finding new ventures together. They are risk takers who learn and grow in each of the book, professional and personally. Trey has his own personal agenda but one can’t help but wonder will it truly give him peace and happiness. Delightfully written with charming characters who are normal not perfect. They become your book friends before the conclusion, proving that love makes life better.
An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is the second book in this fun series and like the first it flows well and keeps you engaged as you grow to love the folks of Marietta like they where your own family
Amber is the second McCall girl she is the planner the one who always knows where she is going in life So why has she thrown away her career as an investment banker in NY to start a fledgling business with her sister flipping homes She gets experience by working with Trey Brandel and the connection between them is instant The only problem he is about to return to the big apple to reconnect with his father and start a job at his comapny but can he leave Amber What will happen will they find a compromise You will have to read to see
As we head back to Marietta, Montana Amber the middle sister comes home from the Bay area to help out with the new venture of flipping houses. It turns out there is a tv show too based on the 3 sisters flipping houses and using the antiques and re-using items from around the area. Speaking of antiques we have Trey who is co-owner of the antique shop in town and who we can see sparks flying between Amber and Trey. The only issues is Trey is only in town until his mom is better after having an accident then he is headed back to New York City to work with his father on a magazine. So really it’s worthless to start something that will take them no where but these two have one wonderful night anyways. Life has it’s own idea about what needs to be and fate will step in and push buttons, hammer nails and even paint walls if need be. This is a series of books that could easily be on tv and one I am so looking forward to the next book in this series.
I enjoyed Amber’s story even more than Ruby’s, and that is saying something. Amber and Trey have tons of chemistry from the moment they meet, but both of them have good reasons to ignore that chemistry. The conflict between their chemistry/feelings and the plans that they each had for their lives felt very realistic. Neither of them is the kind of person to impulsively change well considered plans for someone they just met, so they both understand why they cannot be together. It is all very rational and adult, no accusations or melodramatic scenes. But what if…
This is the kind of book I really enjoy. I loved the characters. The conflict was sensible, and the H and h actually talk to each other. The relationship felt real because of things they had in common, and I felt that Amber and Trey could make each other stronger together than they would be apart. I am very excited for Jade’s book next!
I LOVE happy endings and Meet Me in Montana was definitely a feel-good HEA. This is the second book in Property Sisters of Montana but it is a standalone. It tells the story of the middle sister, Amber McCall, and how her HEA with Trey Brandell happened. This isn’t a 100% clean romance as there’s closed door sex before marriage, however IMHO it wasn’t offensive. I can’t wait to read the third book about the youngest sister, Jade McCall. Tule Publishing provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

Is he making the worst mistake of his life by walking away?
This is Amber McCall and Trey Brandel’s story.
A wedding.
A sweet, simple, beautiful celebration of love.
And Amber McCall, middle-born sister of the bride, couldn’t wait for things to wrap up. She’d begged, bartered, and even threatened to quit her job in San Jose if her bosses didn’t honor her request for two weeks of family leave. “I’m needed in Montana,” she’d told them. “It’s a matter of life or death.”
A slight exaggeration. Dad wasn’t dying. But “Diamond Jim” McCall wasn’t going to enjoy the comfortable retirement he and Mom so rightly deserved if Amber didn’t step up to the plate and deliver on her promise to stage the family’s “flip house” before it went on the market.
She snagged the full mimosa from her mother’s spot, noticing Trey’s gaze follow her.
“Congratulations on your great job of officiating. You conducted yourself like a seasoned pro. Are you sure it was your first wedding?”
His soft snorting sound made her smile. “First and last.”
I highly recommend reading.

Meet Me in Montana is the second in the Property Sisters series a romance book I was given an advance reader’s copy of in exchange for my review.
This book was a very enjoyable romantic read with off the charts chemistry between Trey and Amber and it had a dramatic life changing surprise that I was not expecting. It also gave me a new saying I will be using the rest of my life, thank you Debra for letting me steal Trey’s granny’s saying for my own, I don’t know if I can copy it to print here so friends when you read the book it’s the saying about trouble and that one line will make me remember this book forever, well that and Amber’s desire to find a forever kind of love. Now I am waiting anxiously for book three of the series so I can find out more about Jade.
More of a 3.5 stars story
I enjoyed book one in the series, Montana Blueprint for Love and had high hopes for this one.
The story centers around Amber McCall, the sister that’s a wiz in the world of investment. She’s starting to wonder whether it’s time to leave the rat race, and go back home to do what she loves.
During her visit home she meets Trey Brandel, the son of the owner of Amber’s favorite store and one she would like to be part of.
As the friendship develops into more, Trey is torn and decides to go work with the father in NYC. A man he barely knows but hopes this time together, will change that.
This was about being at the wrong place at the wrong time. About how our childhood and how those that are suppose to love and care for us, does in fact affect us in adulthood.
About making choices, even if they are hard ones, in order to find peace and happiness.
Though it was entertaining, it didn’t wow me. I would have given it a 3 stars rating, but I respect the time and effort the author put into it, and for that, I am giving it 4 stars.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by TULE Publishing. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Is Amber brave enough to follow her heart and leave her well paying job in the Bay Area and come back home to Montana? Can Trey listen to his heart and follow his own path?
This is book #2 in this wonderful series by Debra Salonen. We met both Amber and Trey in the first book and saw the sparks fly between these two.
Amber McCall though has a very taxing job in the Bay Area that she loves. She adores her bosses and the family she has there but she is always on call there. She has her escape though in with her personal business of taking cast off chairs and turning them into fabulous useful chairs. She sells some and gives other away to those who need them. But Amber is loving being back in Montana with her sisters and working on their project house. She is also finding new parts of herself and being very daring in her relationship with Trey.
Trey Brandel pretty much grew up in New Orleans with his mother. His mother left his father when he was young and they left behind New York City and never looked back. Trey was planning to head to work for his father’s magazine after helping his mother out after a fall. Trey is a very talented interior designer and magazine editor. He agrees to help Amber stage the flip house she and her sisters have finished. Part of the staging is help showcase the house and sell it but also as part of a hopeful pilot for tv show that her sister Jade is pitching.
Trey thinks the only way to be successful is to make peace with his father and thinks that he can survive in New York City. But as he helps Amber stage the house, he starts to fall in love not just with Amber but also Montana. He has a lot of ideas for a modern magazine but he still thinks he owes it to his father to try and work for him.
Can these two find a middle ground? And can Trey learn that his heart lives in Montana?
I am really enjoying this series by Debra Salonen. The sisters are wonderful and the men they meet and fall in love with are not perfect. They are human. I loved how I was able to escape into the story and see the beautiful Montana scenery painted with the words chosen by Ms. Salonen.
I can’t read to read the conclusion to this series hopefully soon.
I did receive a copy of this novel in advance from the publisher in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.
