“[A] heartwarming story a la Bridget Jones’ Diary with a twist…Colgan folds in a colorful cast of characters and whips up an easy, sweet read.”—USA Today
A smart, quirky contemporary confection of comedy, recipes, romance, and friendship, Meet Me at the Cupcake Cafe#60;/em> proves that life might not always taste like you expect, but there’s always room for dessert!
Issy Randall can bake. … there’s always room for dessert!
Issy Randall can bake. No, Issy can create stunning, mouthwateringly divine cakes. As a child she took every opportunity to learn in her Grandpa Joe’s bakery. Now, with her desk job and her office romance crumbling, Issy seizes the chance to reinvent herself. Or…she will as soon as the drama-induced sugar coma wears off.
With help from new friends, and a disheveled-yet-appetizing bank manager, Issy starts to make the adorable café of her dreams into a reality. But she soon learns that her piece-of-cake recipe for a fresh start might be a little more complicated than throwing some sugar and butter together.
This book serves up a light-hearted rom-com, sprinkled with delicious recipes, perfect for fans of British chick-lit authors like Sophie Kinsella, Jill Mansell, and Abbi Waxman.

Such a wonderful story! Issy is an inspiration to anyone who has had their life turned upside down. It made me want to open a cupcake cafe! All of the characters are interesting and well developed, that it feels like you know them all. A must read!!
Very slow moving and hard to stay excited about reading to the end.
A bit slow at times but overall a good tale. Not sure I’ll read any more in the series. I’ve definitely enjoyed some of Jennie Colgen’s other series more.
Was a good book with characters having life changing events. Ordinary characters.
An entertaining weekend read when one wants to escape into someone else’s life and neighborhood. Recipes are a fun addition, too.
I love all of her books!
I couldn’t get into, it was boring to me anyways it drag. Didn’t finished it.
If you’re a fan of Sophie Kinsella, you’ll LOVE Jenny Colgan! I just discovered her and Meet me at the Cupcake Cafe was the first book I read, it’s perfect.
Issy is relatable, charming, and sweet. If you’re a little hung up on your ex and love to bake, Meet me at the Cupcake Cafe is right up your alley.

I fell in love with Issy and the Cupcake Café! What a wonderful tale of how a young woman discovers herself and her strength. You will be cheering her on and trying to talk her out of her bad decisions. There is a wide array of characters with an abundance of personalities … some you’ll love and others you’ll despise. But the ones you love …
Jenny writes such sweet books that are never syrupy – perfect antidote to the news:) A yummy escape.
Another fun fluffy read about a woman who finds herself when life throws her the most challenging challenges. Someone told me this was Bridget Jones Meets Cupcakes and that was spot-on. It’s about the love of a granddaughter and her journey to a fulfilling life as a cosmically great baker.
Issy was raised by her lovely grandfather between cakes and cupcakes. With her big heart and sweetness, she always sees the positive side of everything but found herself groundless when her boss dismisses her and on top of that ends the hidden relationship he had with her, ending her dream to start a family. His grandfather is now older and …
I enjoyed this book so much and look forward to trying some of the recipes. I listened to the audible and found the British accents and humor delightful. The relationship between Izzy and her grandfather was touching – it brought me to tears in many parts as I remembered my own.
