Jordan Collins doesn’t need a man. What he needs is for his favorite author to release another one of her sexy supernatural novels and more people to sign up for the romance book club that he fears is slowly and steadily losing its steam. He also needs for the new employee at his local bookstore to stop making fun of him for reading things meant for “grandmas.”The very last thing he needs is for … last thing he needs is for that same employee, Rex Bailey, to waltz into his living room and ask to join Meet Cute Club. Despite his immediate thoughts—like laughing in his face and telling him to kick rocks—Jordan decides that if he wants this club to continue thriving, he can’t turn away any new members. Not even ones like Rex, who somehow manage to be both frustratingly obnoxious and breathtakingly handsome.
As Jordan and Rex team up to bring the club back from the ashes, Jordan soon discovers that Rex might not be the arrogant troll he made himself out to be, and that, like with all things in life, maybe he was wrong to judge a book by its cover.

This enemies-to-lovers romance between a romance-addict and a cynic is SUPER CUTE, a la early-2000s TV & film romcoms. I love books about books, so reading a hero like Jordan, who’s so devoted to romance and runs a book club, already ticked a ton of my boxes.
Then there’s Rex, the arsehole bookseller who essentially prods Jordan because he has a crush. If you like the whole tormentative bad boy with a heart of gold trope, you will fall head over heels for these two just like I did. (Sidenote: autocorrect claims tormentative is not a word, but tell that to my grandma.)
Speaking of grandmas, I was thrilled when these heroes bonded over their love of the strong women in their life. Rex’s grief arc after the loss of his grandmother really hit me in the feels, and I loved Jordan’s friendship with his grandma.
There was just so much to get soft and fuzzy for in this book. So. Much. It was wonderful!
This was my first book by this author and I was actually surprised by how much I truly enjoyed this story, yet I can’t figure out why I thought I wouldn’t love it. Its an M/M rom-com centered around a romance book club.. I am her for it! The characters were well developed and likable, the plot felt fun and fresh and the chemistry between these two was on point.
I loved the range of emotions I felt throughout the story, the sadness for one of the characters losses, the smiles from watching them flirt, the cringes from some awkwardness, the overall warm fuzzy feeling that was Jordan and Rex’s romance. I still have so many thoughts going through my head after reading this but I don’t want to spill to much of this amazing story. Read this book!!

Reading, no matter the genre can stimulate, comfort, excite and sooth. it can also introduce good friends.Jordan likes his romance novels. Rex who works at the book store appears to mock his reading choices. Jordan worries about his book club the Meet Cute Club’s membership. When Rex shows up, he wants to ignore him but he can’t afford to ignore new blood. As they get to know each other’s reading habits, Jordon learns there is more to Rex than he thought. Each man has close relationships with their GrandMothers, although Rex is packing up his recently deceased GrandMa’s home. They find peace joy and comfort in their reading and find a common purpose in teh Meet Cute Club. Will they succeed in reviving the Club? Will Rex stay? Will Jordan see the half full glass? This was a soothing story even though the success of the club hangs in the balance. It is nice reading about nice, good men. Nicely done. This m/m romance was really sweet, funny, heartwarming and emotional and I really really liked it. I have never read a romance written by a man before and it was great to get a guy’s perspective on a m/m romance.
I think Jack Harbon did a really great job getting all the thoughts and feelings and angst included in a short romance about Rex who is white and gay and Jordan who is black and gay.
They are two very different people who find each other in a very difficult time in their lives and discover a peace and openness whenever they are together.
Jordan is a very uptight and proper person who lives by rules and lists but when he meets Rex he starts to loosen up and starts to get out of the rot he has found himself in for a very long time. Rex is a very open and carefree person on the outside but when you look closer he has a lot of problems that he is dealing with. He is a very complex person.
They meet in a bookstore where Rex makes a very bad first impression. But when he shows up to his first Meet cute club meeting showing an interest in getting to know romance books and Jordan everything changes.
I really liked that the book centers around the Meet cute club and the four other members are really great and funny side characters. Rex’s sister and Jordan’s grandmother are also amazing side characters.
I can definitely recommend this book and this is not the last time I read something from Jack Harbon either. I can’t wait to see what else he writes.

Meet Cute Club is the perfect quarantine read. While you’re stuck inside, dreaming of the day you can safely browse a bookstore’s shelves once more, this book offers bookstore drama, Romancelandia nods, and one very cute couple at the heart of it all.
And let’s not forget about the grandmothers!
Both Jordan and Rex each have grandmothers who heavily influenced their love of reading, as well as their outlook on life, picking up where distant parents left off. Their love for their grandmothers helps bring them together, even after a first meeting that’s more cat fight than love cats, and both grandmothers clearly have their own distinct style that is reflected in the relationships they have with their grandsons. Although Rex’s grandmother has recently passed, and he’s sifting through her belongings in the house she’s left behind, it’s obvious that her spirit is still with him as he wonders whether there’s anything left for him in the town of Sweet Rose.
Jordan, the founder and leader of the titular Meet Cute Club, sounds like the kind of guy I’d love to be friends with – and the kind of friend who would strong-arm you into joining his book club, whether you love romance or not! He even provides free copies of the books to entice his friends to stick with it, and provides some truly delightful snacks at each meeting. Honestly, what’s not to love?
When Rex, a new member of the Millerstone bookstore team, starts to pick on Jordan’s love of romance, we can all predict exactly where this is headed: it’s the perfect enemies-to-lovers meet-cute! Luckily his troll-like behavior gives way to more lovable characteristics, like his pledge to help Jordan keep the book club up and running. At first it doesn’t seem like he’ll deliver on his promise to recruit new members, but as with any good romance (spoiler alert!), this story has a very happy ending.
I can’t say much more without ruining the surprise, so let me just leave you with this: If you love books, bookstores, meet-cutes, small-town romance, enemies-to-lovers, grandma’s boys, motorcycles, hot M/M sex scenes, or what promises to be the start of an infinitely delightful small-town series of romances, then grab a copy of Meet Cute Club now!
