Look away if you want to live…My life is a giant crap pile with a cherry thrown on top. I’m an immortal woman cursed to kill people with just a glance. And now I’ve been kidnapped by three mouthwateringly sexy gargoyles, who I’m pretty sure want me dead. But it gets better…While I’m trying to make the best of being a prisoner, guarded by yummy eye-candy, I’m also being dragged on a dangerous … eye-candy, I’m also being dragged on a dangerous mission. One that throws me right back into a world which has haunted me for far too long. And if history repeats itself, might end in some seriously twisted scenarios.
Things don’t look good for me. But then, that’s not unusual. What is? I think I’m not just risking my life this time, I’m risking my heart. And that’s one thing that even monsters fear.
MEDUSA’S DESTINY is a full-length reverse harem romance with a sarcastic heroine, three gorgeous gargoyles, and a tale full of twists and turns. But be ready for a long night of reading, because these gargoyles are stone-hard.

First of all, that cover = SWOON. Second, I love a sarcastic heroine. Third, the premise of this has me all kinds of excited. I love Lacey’s writing and can’t wait to dive into this book!
Hawt and then some! Absolutely loved every moment of this audiobook. It had a great romance, mystery, adventure and yummy steamy scenes. I was hooked from the first word and can’t wait to listen to the whole series. The narrator was new to me but I really enjoyed how well she did the whole story.
It’s been a while since a book grabbed my attention and held it. I loved Medusa’s vulnerability and the love her gargoyles show her. A tale of two species that should not like each other learning to love instead of kill. Highly recommended.
Awesome read. Can’t wait for the next book of this series.
Thoroughly enjoyed this! Fun read and a standalone!
I feel for Medusa. I wanted to hug her through the book! Sad what all she had to endure and what she had to put up with. Glad she got her HEA. She honestly deserved it.
I am up for the next book too! Seems these gargoyles really needed to step out of their comfort zone and stop being a-holes to all those different from them. But who knows how Keto’s story will be. Seems there are some whose stripes will never change…
Byron (bad cop gargoyle) and Harold (good cop gargoyle) kidnap the monster, Melissa Gorgon, *the* Medusa. Byron finds himself strongly attracted to Medusa, despite viewing her as an enemy. Carrying her as he flies turns out to be an arousing experience. They meet up with Forrest, the third gargoyle, and he asks Harold, “after she completes their assignment, how are we going to kill her?” Byron and Medusa have their clothes stolen and walk to Eros’ temple naked. They are given ambrosia, which acts as an aphrodisiac. Harold and Forrest investigate what’s taking so long and also get drugged with ambrosia. The four of them spend an erotic sex-filled night. Though they do manage to steal the statue. Next to succumb is Marcus, the alpha, after they steal Aphrodite’s necklace. Then back to the Gargoyle sanctuary, where Medusa is still considered a monster, and “monsters must die”. But fate intervenes in a miraculous way and Medusa’s destiny becomes clear. There are many more plot twists and turns throughout this story and a lot of hot, steamy, erotic RH sex (eventually four on one!), so skip this if you aren’t into vigorous sexual solo, coupling, tripling and quadrupling.
A very different version of Medusa’s story, in all its hot and steamy glory, fantastic characters, world building and narration. The lot is gripping, a little heart wrenching in places, with a happy ever after, not to be missed. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
Straightening new take on monsters
I love the retelling of classic tales with a modern twist- and of course with a healthy dose of sex. This was action packed and yet beautifully romantic. The world building was very good and the characters interesting, especially Medusa. I look forward to the next monster tale.
This was such a blend of fantasy and mythology of know mythological characters that we know so well. It is a magnificent retelling of Medusa. I love her and her guys personalities. They are felt throughout the entire story. It is extremely well written and the support characters are fantastic. The descriptions are vivid and well thought through. This is a fantastic read and doesn’t disappoint.
Medusa, Byron, Harold, and Forest-
So how do you know if someone is a monster who is evil? You don’t until you get to know them. What is Medusa’s story? So when she meets the gargoyles who are monster hunters. Byron, Harold, Forest and Marcus. They are on a mission but first need her help. What will happen once they actually see her? Will she still be doomed. I can say that there are heated situations. Will this effect her fate? This is definitely an intense and page turner.
This story concept was interesting, and it took me a little bit to get into the idea. However, it was an enjoyable fantasy RH read.
An addictive and well-written story! I absolutely loved this book! The author had me sympathizing with a monster and feeling anger at the supposed good guys.! The story starts fast and keeps running, the action is steady and when the steamy stuff starts, it’s hot hot hot. I loved the character development and the way the story just unfolded naturally. Once I started reading this one, I couldn’t put it down and I highly recommend that you should read this one ASAP!
For the Audio –
Wow! Fabulous turning of monster is the heroine! I am so team Medusa. Life is all about perspective and no one ever stops to ask the monsters about their points of view. Not only did Medusa’s Destiny rock it with the POV, it did great on turning the table on the fable. And you have got to love the men in this – they are literally hardheaded! Gargoyles! The story was enjoyable to listen to how everything unfolded, the tasks that were needed, and how life of the “gods” had changed and not changed over the many years. There were some of the sexier scenes that didn’t seem to flow as well within the story. However, overall it was great start to a series of monsters that might not really be monsters.
Marie Smith rocked it as the snarky and quick wit of Medusa along with voices of the men. I found her flow easy to listen to and follow along with the story. A good commuting listen.
I love her writing! So rich and entertaining.
Beautifully written story.
Medusa’s Destiny is so steamy that I needed a break to fan myself cuz things got HOT! lol! Next thing I knew the author had me wanting tissues at certain moments in the story. So let’s just say this book is pretty awesome!
We all know the story of Medusa, the evil gorgon who turns people to stone. Well, this story takes that one and flips it on its head. Medusa is an awesome character. She’s engaging and truly fascinating. I love how the author put this story together. She gives us a unique twist on the story but still holds to things that we are familiar with in the original. We easily get to see that the real monsters in this story…isn’t the one that has been labeled as such, but are the ones who deceive themselves into believing that they are “doing what is right.”
There isn’t anything that I don’t like about this book. I love the variety of the characters that the author gives us and how she even throws in a hint at the next book in this series. I have to say that I am eager to read the next book.
If you are looking for a STEAMY read, engaging characters, and a fantastic storyline then grab this book! You will NOT be disappointed! This book is easily 5 out of 5 stars and hard to put down! Keep a cool drink nearby because you WILL need it! LOL
Medusa’s Destiny is a stand alone, first in the series of the author. When your looks could literally kill, then thank god that your men are made of stone (pun intended!). But when old prejudices came into consideration, will the Medusa’s men be able to overcome it and get their happily ever after?
I love the mythology of the story and the way the author put a new twist to Medusa’s story. This is a bit of a fast paced, medium burn love story so there was never a dull moment on this one. I’ll definitely look forward for the next installment (Keto’s story) and I have a feeling that I may still see these characters on the next book.
What a great twist on some classic stories- Greek, Roman, even Old English. It’s rare to get a good RH romance story that doesnt have more than 2 books in a series for it even to have a remotely good plot. This one not only had a good plot, but great characters and steamy romance scenes (a must for a great RH). It’s a great stand-alone story that is part of a series. I look forward to the next book
Oh yeah, I definitely need a cold shower. This book was awesome! The poor gargoyles didn’t even know what hit them when the met the monster, Medusa. It’s got a very happy ending and not just a naughty one.
Hurry up an one click this book. You won’t regret it.
