Meddlesome Madge is book 11 in the Mail Order Bride’s Rescue series. Madge has helped raise her 4 brothers after the death of their mother and now she is 27 and considered a spinster. The new preacher comes to the kitchen where she feeds the miners that work in the diamond mine. He had eyes for Madge but could not figure out how he could get her to be his wife. To complicate his life more is his nephew that was a teenager shows up to live with him. This sets off a series of events that will test the patience of Madge and their safety. Can what Madge and Abe have worked so hard to get be taken away from them the same day?
I liked this story, but I wish it was longer. I felt like it could delved a little deeper. There was Ty, the pastor’s nephew that came to live with him. Overall, I liked this story and I would recommend it.
I loved this sweet story about Madge who resigns herself to be a spinster after raising her stepbrothers and the Pastor she secretly yearns for. When Pastor Abe asks for her help it is with the attention to woo her. After it works something comes along to put a damper to their happiness. But between her brothers and Abe they will save the day. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing
Great fun read! Loved Abe and Madges story. I read in one sitting and laughed out loud several times. Pastor Abe was looking for a wife and had his heart set on Madge, a self proclaimed spinster. The antics he went about getting her to notice him, and her no nonsense attitude, made an enjoyable story. If you like clean, inspirational, fun books, you can’t go wrong with ‘Meddlesome Madge’. I highly recommend. I received this book from the publisher. The thoughts and comments are my own.
Great quick read! Loved Madge! She is a tough lady and she had to be with 4 brothers. Pastor Abe would like to court Madge but she feels she’s too old to be courted. That won’t stop Abe. He’s determined to win her and is pulling out all the stops.
Another fun story in this series! I’m sure in the days of the Old West, it was hard once you reached a certain age to think of not getting married – that you were “too old”. That was how Madge saw herself. She had been so busy raising her brothers when her father “checked out” after her mother was gone, that suddenly she was “old” and saw herself as a spinster. She thoughts she’d be the woman in town doing all the charitable works and just being an aunt the rest of her life! Then, a new pastor comes to town and sets his sights on her! Abe is somewhat older too but he’s a looker!!!! Their story was fun and when you add in the mix one nephew who is suddenly sent to Abe without his knowledge, how can things get any more interesting???
Loved Madge and Abe’s story!! Madge was “mother” to her brothers, and thought (because everyone said so) that she was too old to find love. Wrong!! Abe knew she was the one for him when they met! He had just to help her see that what she wanted was right there in front of her!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review and the opinion expressed is my own.
Madge is know as a very busy lady who everyone knows. She has her fingers in a lot of “pies”. The town’s pastor, Abe, has fallen in love with her, and concocts a plot to persuade her to marry him. In the meantime, Abe’s teenage nephew, Tyler, comes to live with him because Tyler’s dad can’t handle him. This story has an unexpected twist before everything falls into place.
