It is clear from the writing of this novel that the author has a clear passion and understanding of love and romance but she adds her own kind of twists and turns that you even expect in a romance novel.
Millie is a famous author her latest novel being measure for measure, she draws the attention of many who come to her book signings and other promotional events, but she also draws the attention of her very own stalker that takes things too far from the very beginning of the book, having no trouble murdering in the name of his love for Millie.
Then there is Millie’s true love Ryker who she walked away from three years prior with the thoughts of saving her heart from further pain, but did she really. Through a turn of tragic events Millie and Ryker are forced to reunite with Ryker’s intention of protecting and keeping Millie alive while their cop best friend Mick tries to find Millie’s stalker before it is too late for them all.
Millie and Ryker soon discover that the past cannot just be forgotten and that the power of love and passion is still there after all this time, as they fight not only each other but themselves to stay sane as they try to catch a killer while protecting their hearts at the same time.
This books has the stalkers identity kept secret until the author is ready for the readers to know, but hints are dropped along the way, but it is who you least except it to be and the reader sits back going I did not see that one coming.
The author clearly has a passion for writing romance and it is clear to see in her book, each scene is set out clearly showing the love and passion between the hero and the heroine. With the real hero turning out the be the heroine at the end of the day. The author has not created the women in this story to need men to survive, the women are strong independent career driven women who underneath have passion and sex appeal for the man their heart desires.
Millie the main character does not want to hide away, she does not want to see those she loves getting hurt to protect her. She wants to stand and fight for herself and those she loves against those that want to bring her down or take her away from reality because of their sick twisted mind and version of reality believing that the novel written is about his love for the main character was real.
It is clear the author has done her research into both the victim and stalkers mind to be able to write the thought processes of both these roles in her book. She clearly wants her readers to be able to understand both points of view, to really get inside the mind of someone so sick and twisted who could murder without a thought behind it. But at the same time, she does it in a way that does not turn the book into a thriller instead of a romance.
I loved the book and would gladly read more of this authors works, I hope we can do more work with this author in the future
