He doesn’t do commitment. She’s his dead friend’s wife. They can never be more than friends.Piper Stevens had already met—and lost—the love of her life. When she buried her husband, she buried her chance for a happily ever after…but also found a shoulder to lean on in Nate.As a commitment-phobe womanizer, Nate Hall has never had a female as a friend, but he made a promise to his buddy before he … promise to his buddy before he passed. Take care of Piper.
And these days? He can’t imagine his life without her.
Now, a year later, things Piper thought were long gone are beginning to come back.
Like her previously healthy libido.
Except she can’t picture dating someone in her husband’s place, nor can she sleep with a stranger either.
So, she turns to Nate. After all, he’s the perfect choice. He’s her friend but also a player. He cares about her but they’ll never fall in love…and she won’t get hurt. Not like she did when she lost her husband.
But sometimes the universe has other plans. Like bringing together two people who were meant to be together.
Meant to Be was previously published under the title Nasty (Naughty #2).

Stories with a touch of the forbidden are one of my favorites! In Nasty, book two in the Naughty series, by R.L. Kenderson we get a touch of the forbidden in this friends with benefits story.
Piper Stevens married the love of her life. She was happy and in love. Then she buried her husband and everything changed. Nate Hall does not do relationships or any long-term type of relationships with females. But when his friend dies, he is determined to be there and support Piper.
Now almost a year after her husband’s death, Piper is experiencing things she thought were long gone. But she can also not imagine dating anyone or someone taking her husband’s place. Nate has been so supportive and there for her, but he is also a man who avoids any commitments. Maybe they can have a no strings friends with benefits relationship with each other and keep all feelings out of it. Easy, right?
Then the sexy times begin and when two people have a friendship and then feel a spark, all bets are off. Because neither is ready for more, there is tension and guilt. Their journey is not always an easy one, but their chemistry is strong. But can Piper again open her heart again and can Nate finally commit? So worth finding out! I devoured this book as quickly and I could!

Happy reading!
Emotion filled, laugh out loud funny and super steamy! I loved Piper and Nate’s story! The underlying plot is easy to fall into and follow throughout the book. The characters both have past heartache that has defined who they are today and they each are trying to work through some of their issues. They’re really adorable together as best friends, and as lovers, oh my, they heat up the place for sure! Really enjoyed their story!
When Piper Stevens lost her husband a year ago, she figured life as she knew it was over. They never got the chance to start that family they always dreamed of, so now it won’t happen. She became numb when her husband died and parts of her never came back to life. She’s going through the motions of her new life with the support of her good friend Nate by her side.
Nate Hall was her husband’s best friend, and he promised him he’d take care of her. He’s a major player who has never been friends with a member of the opposite sex before, but this past year has been eye opening for him and he now adores Piper and would do anything for her. When she comes asking him to be the one that reawakens her sexual journey though, that one he’s not so sure about! He wants her, he won’t deny that … but she’s a happily ever after type of woman. Can she really be happy settling for just sex?
This is the first book I’ve read by this duo and it certainly won’t be the last. They write great characters,a well-thought out plot, and smoldering sexy scenes. The characters are relatable and the emotions are realistic. It’s hard to write about deep emotions and make the reader feel and this book has all the feels. There is humor, witty sexy banter, great turns, and an nice twist at the end.
Piper has been a grief-stricken young widow for a year, her only solace her dead husband’s best friend, Nate. After a year of friendship and support, Nate unexpectedly stirs her libido. While the idea of moving forward terrifies her, the guilt she feels for wanting a sex life and the loss of Jordan has her being more than cautious.
Nate has his own guilt. He feels responsible for Jordan’s death and takes the promise he made to his dying friend to heart: Take care of Piper. His support cements their friendship, but as time goes on she kicks in feelings that Nate has fought his entire life. Nate carries his own baggage from his past, as well as his player reputation. So they can just be friends with benefits, right? What could go wrong?
I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning to finish this book. I found I could not put it down and I can’t wait for another read from R.L. Kenderson
Another winner from RL Kenderson! I loved Nate and Piper’s story! Nasty is a hot friends to lovers story, with a great balance of angst, funny, and sexy.
