When nothing is as it seems, all you can do is trust your heart…
On the eve of her thirtieth birthday, Meara O’Rourke can’t help but feel alone. With her last remaining relative newly buried … alone. With her last remaining relative newly buried and her potentially disastrous engagement freshly broken, she makes a resolution to begin her life anew — only to have an unexpected phone call turn her whole world upside down. Her biological mother Sheila, whom she met only once six years before, lies in critical condition in a nearby hospital. And though the woman once refused to see her daughter ever again — her last wish is just the opposite.
A few whispered words, and Sheila is gone. But the questions she has put into her daughter’s head, and the historic stone inn she has unknowingly bequeathed, sweep Meara up into the whirlwind of another life — and a legacy of deception. When Meara begins to have memories of a place she’s never been, she realizes that while finding out the truth about her birth and adoption could answer all her questions, it could also tear her apart.

Very good mystery, very clean which I appreciated.
I enjoyed this book and it was a fast read.
Meant to Be was just what I was looking for: a romantic story with a interesting mystery to solve as the plot line. A satisfying read in a time of turmoil.
Great twists and a more complex plot than expected. Loved it!
This book had a unique story behind the love story that kept me engaged.
I enjoyed this book. It is a story about adoption and has some dark moments. The writing is outstanding and extremely realistic. If you like meaningful characters and a bit of mystery…READ THIS BOOK!
I enjoyed reading this book. It had some interesting twist and turns which kept your interest and I mentally wrote my own ending but won’t share it because it may spoil someone else who could make a different ending thought. I like my conclusion!
Light women’s fiction. Oh good distraction from the times and a fun read ,well written..
From page one, I couldn’t put it down!
I am discovering that Edie is becoming one of my favorite authors. This is the second book in this series and once again, the further into the series I go, the more I am liking it. Very well written. So many times I thought I had it all figured out, only to find I was wrong. There was just one little piece of the puzzle I wanted to fall into place at the end, but it was left unsaid to the imagination. Great story.
This is my first book by this author, Edie Claire. I really like how she writes. There was suspense and a good plot in this novel that kept me turning the pages. As I have adopted children, I really felt the emotional aspests of this role from all sides. This is a great read and will be looking for more stories by this author.
This book is about a woman who gets a call from a hospital telling her that her biological mother is in intensive care. She gets there and her mother tells her to avoid her husband’s children. She finds out she inherited a bed and breakfast on a large forest. The husband’s children are suspicious. She also finds out her mother was married to a cop who may be her father. Her mother went to prison for shooting her husband.
Sweet easy read, nothing earth shattering.
I just didn’t care for this book.
Very good read and very well written
Writer held my interest; I never knew what direction she would take next with this story. Enjoyed.
After worrying that it was going to be a Grade B Romance I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. The story moves along with good characters that are connected in an interesting manner. The romantic relationship is obvious from the start but doesn’t overwhelm the story. A decent beach read.
