I’ve been loving this whole series by Layla Hagen ,and loved Meant for You so much!!!
I don’t think there’s a single Layla Hagen romance that I haven’t adored to pieces, and MEANT FOR YOU seriously gave me ALL of the feels. Amazing characters, even better banter, and a romance that left me swooning. Loved this one!
Come on…it’s a Layla Hagen story. This is a no-brainer. One-click!
Detective Will Connor Meets His Match In The Independent Paige Lamonica
Twenty-eight year old Paige Lamonica returns home to L.A. after a stint working at her non-profit’s Paris office for a few years. While she enjoyed the experience, personally and professionally, she feels like she has missed too much by being away from her family.
She and her family inherited her grandmother’s aging inn months earlier, and she is determined to do her share of the work needed to prep it for sale. She is at the inn catching up with a couple of girlfriends when a knock comes at the door.
Detective William Connor doesn’t normally take calls, but for some reason he answers to the report of someone breaking into an old boarded up inn. He is struck by the woman that answers, and can’t get her off his mind afterward. When she shows up at his precinct a week later to file a vandalism report, he asserts himself by offering to help her purchase a security system, then offers to help with the installation.
Paige’s father had a military career, and Paige grew up witnessing her mother’s grief when her father faced danger. She has no desire to be in a relationship with a cop, knowing the grief and anxiety she would suffer as a result of the dangers of the job. She struggles in vain to resist Will.
Despite Paige’s fierce independence, Will’s patience and determination eventually win her over. Will had done his fair share of dating previously, even had a few relationships, but he had never become attached to a woman until he met Paige. He obsesses over her when he is not with her and cannot touch her enough when they are together. He knows she is meant for him. He is not one for words, but he shows his feelings by his actions.
Will’s three sisters know him so well that they can read him by his expressions. They know when work is getting him down, for example, even though he cannot share particulars, and they know how to help. But they’ve had a lifetime to learn this skill; Paige has not. She struggles to understand what he is thinking.
Will and Paige work through career and communication issues, and with the help of their loving families, they find their HEA.
This can be read stand-alone, but it is the third book in the Connor series. I recommend reading them in order to get the most out of them.
Like the first two, this book is sweet and spicy. This one might be a little more on the spicy side, if for no other reason than the fact that Will’s character demands it. He is a man of action, not words.
Will’s lack of words probably contributed to me being slow to warm up to the couple. I really liked and respected Will from the earlier books, but I cannot say for certain how I would have felt if I had not read the earlier books.
The Connor family and this series are fast becoming a series I will read and re read, I love everything about them, their loyalty, their love and passion as well as the way they protect what’s theirs. I’m playing catch up with Ms Hagen’s books and I really regret not coming across her sooner but I will get there I will get every book read.
Paige and Will have an instant attraction for each other but Paige grew up with a father who put his life in danger every time he went to work so it’s going to take a lot of persuasion to get Paige to take a change on police detective Will Connor. Will Paige ever let go of the fear of a man she loves getting hurt or will Will leave a job he loves for the woman he has fallen hook line and sinker for…..
This is a be written love story that ticked all my boxes, I smiled and I swooned as I watch this couple fall in love and once you add in catching up with the rest of the Connor clan you get a perfect read. Can’t wait to pick up book 4 in this series of stand-alone’s. Great job Ms Hagen
Meant for You is the third story in The Connor Family series and I love each story. Layla Hagen is an amazing storyteller and I just love her books. I love how she mixes in bittersweet moments for each of the Connors. I love the dynamic of the Connor family and their extended family, the Bennetts. Meant for You is the story of Will Connor, who is a police officer and Paige Lamonica. Will is the third oldest of the Connor children, behind Landon and Val. It was Will’s job to take care of Lori, Jace and Hailey after their parents died. Paige has just returned home from spending several years in Paris for work. She and her friends are getting together at her late grandmother’s house and a neighbor calls the police, because he does not know that Paige is in the house. Will decides to take the call on his way home even though he is not on patrol. Will is so attracted to Paige that he decides to ask her to be his plus one at Lori and Graham’s wedding. It is lust at first sight between Will and Paige, and this sets up some very sexy scenes between Will and Paige. Paige grew up as an Army brat and has some misgivings about Will being a police officer. I love that Paige is a strong woman and that she goes for what she really wants, in her career and her personal life. Meant for You is an outstanding story and I love the plot twist. But I really loved everything that Will did to get Paige back and get their happily ever after.
Ahhhh don’t you just love a man in uniform who gets knocked off his feet by an unsuspecting fierce woman! I just can’t get enough of these Connor siblings, their cousins and friends! I love the storyline, how fiercely they love, their protectiveness and even their vulnerable side!
3.5 stars!!
Oh how my love for the Bennett’s has now morphed onto the Connors!! This is book three of “The Connor Family” series and can be read as a complete stand alone.
To be honest I think the Bennett’s set the bar really high for me because I just can not seem to get into the Connors book nearly as much. I love all the characters. Will is a sexy, slightly egotistical police officer who is out for justice. His brother Jace, ahh I can’t wait to find out more about this good boy. And the other siblings we all know. I think Paige is sure of herself and smart. These two together make one hell of a team!!
Sadly I couldn’t focus. This book didn’t reel me in and maybe I will try again another day but for now I will say the heat is there and the plot is good. This couple goes through some ups and downs like all good relationships do. In the end these two belong together.
**I received this book as an ARC and in return gave my honest and very late (I am sooo sorry) review**
Favorite Quotes:
I practically flew to him. It felt that way, at least. Like I was so light that my feet weren’t even touching the ground, merely skipping over the surface.
“Just keep your eyes open for a smart and very sexy guy. Strong arms are important. Six-pack always a plus. Great skills in bed are also a requirement, but obviously, there’s no way to check that beforehand.” … I made a mental note never to ask about girl talk again.
My Review:
Layla Hagen is my go-to gal when I need something light and amusing as well as sweet and steamy. Her alpha males are full of swagger but quickly learn the importance of groveling when needed. I enjoyed the sweet pairing of Will and Paige, they were a feisty and sweary couple who could go toe-to-toe as well as scorch the sheets with their volcanically hot sexcapades.
Layla is and will ever be my go to author when I want some swoon worthy romance combined with some thrilling action luring in the background. She will deliver and then some.
From the other books Will came on as cocky. And I am personally a sucker for a cocky but sensitive hero. And Paige is the sassy and smart-mouthed woman who will always put him in his place. But surprise, Will is the sweetest and at his best behaviour in this book! Defo swoon worthy!
The icing on the cake: A little interaction and mention of the Bennett clan. Oh, how I miss them. A 5 stars read!!
I have been enjoying the Connor series. The family is great and the storytelling is fantastic. Meant for You is Will’s story. He is the middle brother and a police detective. I loved how from the moment Will and Paige met, it was instant connection. They couldn’t stop thinking about the other and I loved how they run into each other time to time and the interactions they have. Layla does a great job building their relationship and seeing how Will and Paige fall in love. It was a nice journey. Seeing how they work through things and how much they care and love each other. I also really loved the interactions between Will and his siblings. They are so much fun and always leaves you with a smile. Meant for You is a fun, sweet, and loving story. I’m excited to see who is next!
Layla does it again!
I love these characters!
Follow the story of Paige, just back from working in France. Hanging out with her friends catching up at her Grandmothers Inn when hot detective Will, stops by to investigate seeing as how the Inn has been closed for quite some time! When he comes face to face with Paige, he’s hooked as well as she finds him extremely hot!
Layla made me fall in love with these two, Will is amazing, and Paige is sweet and his equal! Grab this one as soon as it’s available, you even get previous characters stopping in! 5 stars for this one!
Meant For You was a sweet enjoyable read, like all of Layla’s book, but this has to be my favorite book so far in this series. What is not to love about Will and Paige, they might just be the perfect couple. Will and Paige just have ways of making their bad days even better for each other. You also get TONS of family time in this book which I adore. If you love a sexy dirty talking detective that rides a motorcycle then you need Will Connor in your life. I highly recommended you read this series and the Bennett’s.
I love story worlds with big families and lots of siblings, probably mostly because it’s super new and interesting to me having been an only child. This story has that, and so much more as we follow will and Paige into a very intense love affair that neither of them could have predicted or expected!
These characters are very well drawn in their own right – families, careers, interests – and when put into proximity with one another they can’t help but orbit and be drawn together. A wonderful love story with some really great setting and background not to mention some pretty spectacular love scenes. Get into this world, you’ll be glad you did!
Will and Paige start the Connor Family series. Loved it
Hot, sexy love!
This is the story of Will Conner and Paige Bennett. Paige is home to fix up her grandmother’s inn prior to selling it. Her grandmother has passed away, and Paige and her siblings are working together to fix up the old place. Will stops by the inn after hearing a call that there may be trespassers at the old inn. But when Will sees Paige (and vice versa), the chemistry sizzles. Paige is reluctant as she remembers her family waiting for her father when he was on a dangerous mission with the armed forces. She never wants to feel worried like she remembers feeling and watching her mother go through. Will, on the other hand, is a police officer and is trained to be ever vigilant.
I enjoyed this book, but I found the plot was a bit slow moving, other than sex scene to sex scene. Perhaps, having a bit more drama that the two would have to work through would have made me feel there was more to this than initial real love and lust. However, I still enjoyed the book and look forward to reading the next book in this series.
I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely.
Will and Paige are my favorite couple in the series yet! Paige has come back to fix up the B&B she inherited from her Grandmother, when Will comes to investigate if there was a break-in, she automatically puts her guard up. Paige doesn’t want to live the life her Mother did, when you love someone in service, waiting for the dreaded phone call. I loved watching them try to fight the chemistry and deny the connection. A wonderful addition to The Connor Family!
My first foray into Layla Hagan’s books was The Bennett Family Series. When she began The Connor Family series, I counted myself in. If they were anything like their cousins, I knew I would be hooked. And hooked I am.
The third book of her series, Meant for You, follows the second oldest brother of the Connor Family, Will. A police detective and owner of various rental properties, Will is not looking for love, but, one day, he meets Paige accidentally, and he’s smitten. Paige has just moved from Paris and is simply looking to reintegrate into a life she left behind years before. However, like Will, she finds herself attracted to his good looks, cocky attitude, and caring demeanor. Their story follows them through career changes and a quest for a romantic relationship.
Together, Will and Paige have chemistry galore. From their first meeting, we feel their attraction. Thankfully, it doesn’t take them long to acknowledge it and act upon it. This isn’t the type of angsty romance where you constantly worry about the H/h. You know fairly early on that they will be together. Yes, they have problems, namely Will’s job puts him at some risk and he has a tendency not to communicate well. However, Paige’s influence on him helps him with his challenges. Also, these two are hot in bed. They light the bedroom on fire.
I appreciate Hagen’s books because you feel as though you are wrapped in a comfy blanket of romantic fiction. There are so many romance stories wherein the H/h struggle or the entire relationship seems founded on sex that the minute they decide to marry as the reader you’re surprised. That isn’t Hagen. She takes her time developing the relationships of her characters. There is a bit of strife within the relationships, but they are typical of real life struggles, not fictional book dilemmas.
If you want to wrap yourself in a blanket of romance, then Layla Hagen’s book, Meant for You, is it.
Overall: 4 Stars
WHAT A SENSATIONAL STORY WITH BENNETTS AND CONNORS ALL MIXED UP IN A STORY THAT WAS BOTH FUN, SEXY AND HEARTFELT!
Layla Hagen is quickly becoming a one-click author for me. Her books make me feel so good. And Meant For You is BEAUTIFUL and loaded with heart and lots of heat. The characters, both new and old, are wonderful and watching the romance flourish and grow between Will and Paige had me sighing out loud and brought me a great amount of joy. This story ensnared me right from the synopsis and it just kept me hooked from start to finish. And the cover, can I just mention how much I loved it? Its so pretty and makes one think of romance, hot and sweaty nights and sweet seductive days. Just too fabulous to pass up.
Meant For You gets a SENSATIONAL FIVE SHOOTING STARS!
