Every time I read a sci-fi romance, I promise myself I’m going to pick up more. But I mean it this time. I will pick up more, especially in this world.

Some things never change…
Mean Right Hook is a title that suggests fight club/mob enforcer/MMA type romance. But the setting – far future, mining planet, Xylan male miners with a strange connection to the ore they extract – says SF/fantasy. Now, THIS I gotta read. Yeah, I know, curiosity and the cat… N E way, From beginning to end, this is pure office romance – cute but totally focused intern get stuck in the elevator with a hunky Xylan nice guy who turns out to be her boss. It’s cute, ironically funny in spots, sweet, slow-burn sexy, and loaded with enough warm fuzzies to melt Greenland. Michelle Mills knows how to tackle a trope and make it hers!
Leah is starting a new internship on Timbur. Her first day on the job began in a less than stellar way, when she spilled coffee on her work uniform, then her escort to the work site was called away on an emergency, then she got trapped in a lift with her supervisor, Saxon. The imagery of this book was such that I could actually envision what the author was describing. I am looking forward to reading more of her books.

I absolutely loved this book. The nanny is sassy, tell you how it is sort and yet a caring care-giver for the elderly. She is not the least bit prepared to be a nanny, much less to fire breathing alien twins. There is a small amount of drama but the book overall is wonderful sweet and I was pleased to find that it is part of her brides universe which was just a huge plus. I love shared universe series! I highly recommend it for when you are in the mood for a sweet and sassy read. This book had me laughing frequently throughout!

This was a fast and easy read – in fact, it went so fast I was almost disappointed when it ended. It was a complete story though and I was left with a smile. I expected Leah to be more reluctant and Saxon to be a little less “nice” but both characters were right on target. This was basically an OTT instant love with fun characters, a fast paced story and a great HEA.
Ms. Mills is becoming one of my go to author. This is shorter than I expected for a Sci-Fi but just as good. It was sweet and had a great dose of heat. Leah, expected Saxon, to be like some of the other Xylan’s which were very snobbish and acted superior. But total shock when Saxon was sweet. I love the interaction between these two and look forward to more of the stories of each brother. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Good short read. Enjoyed the characters and the background. Was well written to were I didn’t feel like things were missing but left me wanting more from this world. Wonderful HEA!
Leah is a new temporary employee with Minecorp on Timbur. She wants to do everything perfectly to make a good impression and has studied the culture. The majority of other employees are Xylans and seem very friendly.
When Leah is sent on ahead to go down to the mine, there is a malfunction. A male named Saxon with huge muscles, claws, and fangs had joined her in the cage, and he sees she is upset as the lights go out and they appear trapped. The big warning she knows about is to never touch the hand skin to skin with an unmated Xylan male. Both of them are supposed to always wear gloves. But with Leah terrified in the dark with the cage threatening to fall and take them to their deaths, Saxon tries to soothe the rapidly panicking female. What better way than to gently take her hand?
This was such a cute story with sweet characters that feel trustworthy right from the start. I loved the way they met and look forward to reading more of these stories. Grab your copy and see how Leah’s first day on the job turns out!
Wonderfully fantastic… The book was amazing… It had a lot of details and juicy scenes to it… The characters and their personalities match them perfectly… The plot and the storyline was very descriptive and amazing…

Leah is about to have the adventure she wasn’t ready for. The story plot is entertaining very detailed. The MC connection is explosive hot together. I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to read more in this series. No spoilers here I definitely love this book
The first book in The Fever Brothers series, a great start to this series. This is human mining internship engineer Leah Hernandez, and Xylan, Saxon of Nine, a Driller nicknamed The Hook. I found myself smiling as I read. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love all Ms. Mills books and this one was no exception. It’s shorter , but super sweet with a healthy dose of heat. I absolutely loved that the Xylan in Leah’s immediate circle LIKED her and were friendly. It was a nice change of pace from some of the other books (which I also loved) where the royal pigment Xylan were such complete snobs with superiority complexes. I liked Leah from the very beginning, and was expecting Saxon to be a bit rougher around the edges. His sweetness from the start was a wonderful surprise. I liked that the “drama” was situational instead of emotional. And I’m so excited to see more of the brothers. They seemed adorably dysfunctional in the most entertaining way!
This is a cute sci-fi romance! I love that there’s a new series about the Xylan warriors! It is sweet and steamy… with a big handsome alien guy that wants only his one fated mate…

‘Mean Right Hook’ is a short, very fast alien romance with attraction that starts as sensual curiosity & rapidly explodes into sizzling steam.
Leah (human heroine) is starting a temporary job on a mining planet, one she is estatic to have & at which she is determined to succeed no matter what. She’s read up on all the cultural do’s & don’t’s for the Xylan entities to ensure she doesn’t make any mistakes that might endanger her status on their planet.
The Xylan’s are polite, thoughtful & the males are huge muscled males with claws & fangs.
The overriding most important caveat? Under NO NO NO circumstances is she to touch (skin to skin) the hand of an unmated Xylan. And to that end, all unmated Xylan’s wear gloves & so too does Leah.
But then the mining elevator Leah is in with a huge HOT Xylan male named Saxon (alien Hero) gets stuck. It’s pitch black. Leah’s terrified & Saxon wants to soothe the panicking human female. But how? And what could happen if he does?
I liked this one. It IS a very fast read & the romance/attraction moves at warp speed but Ms Mills knows how to pack a solid punch her novella. The writing is deft, smooth & the reader rockets along with Saxon & Leah on their journey to love. I loved the world building of this one & believe it or not the author does a marvelous job communicating information about the Xylans.
This one is a fun, sexy, intriguing romance between an eager upbeat curvy human female & a calm friendly huge Xylan male. A very pleasant way to spend some time away from reality.

This is a fun introduction to this Xylan family. Leah is too cute. Hook is so matter of fact in how he approaches her and the situation they find themselves in.
I found this to be a very fast read. I like the world building. The relationship between Hook and his brothers had me laughing.
I’m off to the next story in line.
I usually rate these kinds of novellas a three or less, but the author impressed me with the depth she went into developing the alien species Xylan. I love the fact they are a mated species and what goes into how the species survives. For a short story, the plot and story line are very well developed. The ending makes you want to learn about the other brothers in this family.
What a first day
This book almost made me want to get trapped in an elevator. I love how the characters had that instant connection, and how they went through such a traumatic experience and just kept getting closer. I even loved the rowdy crew and their ability to overwhelm the room. This book is a fantastic super fast read that I already want to read again. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series, I really hope we get to see all of the brothers find their HEA.
Wow I enjoyed this book. The characters are well developed and engaging with undeniable chemistry between the couple which made for a great storyline that kept me entertained throughout the pages.

This is a short story in the Xylan warrior universe. In this short story, our heroine goes to a mining colony as an intern and gets the opportunity due to the previous person going into labor. She is told about the customs of not touching bare hands so she wears gloves. This is a sweet, short story that one can enjoy if looking for a sci-fi romance love at first sight.
