A very interesting story. Great couple. Just ending when things were getting good. It’s a happy ending, I just would have liked to see what comes next.
Leah just started her new job in a whole new world, she was no longer on New Earth. And everything was going wrong, then she’s trapped in an elevator. You would think that’s a bad thing but the Xylan she is trapped with is gorgeous and his closeness is doing all kinds of things to her body.

My bride is in her breeding cycle….., How cool is this sentence my itself. Like always it was kind of hilarious and the fantasy that you find in her books, just great. But, yes there is a but, it was pretty short. But still hat up, like we say in German. If you a fan of romance sci-fi you can not pass this author.
I love this author. I read Daxon’s Hostage and all the Alien Bounty Hunter Series. I really enjoyed Leah’s story, I just felt that it could have easily been so much longer. The romance and the bonding was there, but where was the action and adventure that could be found in some of her other books. I was a little disappointed, not enough to stop me from reading, because I like her style, just because I wanted more.

The writing and editing of this novel was clean, with few typos that I caught in the ARC version of this manuscript. The world building of the mining planet and company was vibrant and interesting, especially considering how short this story was. The characterization was done with a deft, light touch, which was appropriate for such a short story. The development of the romantic relationship was of the Fated Mates insta-love variety, which was again very appropriate for the short length. The plot and pacing was good, with plenty of excitement to keep me quickly turning the pages. There was low angst in this story and fairly high stakes. This story used the Forced Proximity trope, of the much beloved stuck in an elevator together variety, and the Fated Mates trope common to the novels featuring the Xylan aliens. I hope the next story in this series is longer, because this story was delightful but much too short. I wanted more! The world building, plot, and pacing was four stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship was also four stars. The combined score for this story was therefore four stars. This story ended on a Happy Ever After instead of a cliffhanger, so that is a big plus to this story. I recommend this story to fans of sci-fi romance who want a delightful, trope heavy, short sci-fi romance to read in the bathtub. I do not pan to buy myself a keeper copy of this story, even though I enjoyed it quite a bit, because of the very short length.

I am hooked on a new author after this. I not only discovered a new author but a whole new a world on a different planet. This is short but packs so much that I was immediately hooked on Saxon and Leah. It’s steamy, sexy, cute, and so good.

This is a brilliant read. It is a fated mate/alpha male story which covers all the bases – as well as having lovable characters it had both steamy moments and parts that made me giggle leaving me with a great feeling once I had read it. An absolute must in a book for me. I really enjoyed this story and cannot wait to read the others in the series. Definitely recommend!

This was my first book by Michele Mills and I really enjoyed this book. I loved the world that they were in and the way they find their mates. The chemistry between Leah and Saxon super hott and you may need to bring some ice water when you read this book! I’m really looking forward to more books from this author and this world. I would recommend this book!

Leah is a new employee at the Illibrium mine. She’s very excited since this gig will help her move forward with her degree, and she is eager to make a good impression. Most of the employees are Xylans, and the female assigned to do her orientation is very nice to her. Something comes up before orientation is completed, and she is directed to the correct shaft going down in to the mine. A male joins her in the cage, and this story gets rolling!
I love the universe that Michelle Mills has built, and this novella is an exciting entry point!
Wild ride!
Hook is so swoon-worthy, his and Leah’s insta-love is so fast and fierce, and I’m really liking the set up for the rest of the series. Plus, I really just want someone to tell me “Gods, you’re magnificent when you’re irritated.”
This is the first book by Michelle Mills that I have read. As soon as I finished, I loaded up my kindle! Quick, but incredibly detailed. This is a fully developed universe, and I had no problem losing myself in the story. With rich and vivid descriptions, Michelle paints a picture with her words. Leah is an ambitious, self-aware, sweet and energetic human. She’s thrilled to have an internship with Minecorp on Timbur, and is determined to follow all their rules. But she’s not prepared for a system wide power glitch and a malfunctioning lift. Saxon is unprepared for Leah. She’ll be on his team in the mine, and he’s intrigued by the brave little human trapped in the lift with him. Quickly he realizes that she’s the one who’s triggering these new emotions in him. She is his Bride! Saxon is an OTT alien alpha, and Leah is the only girl in the universe who can handle him! Witty banter, tender moments, nosy and boisterous family members, you can’t go wrong if you like scifi romances!

Mean Right Hook is book 1 in a new series by Michele Mills. Leah is trapped in a mining cage with a huge alien with fangs, massive arms and gloved hands. Number 1 rule is to always keep your gloves on and never touch the bare hand of an Xylan. Such a fun read! I can hardly wait for the next book.
Seriously I’m your what….

Leah didn’t expect to be wearing her cup of Joe but she didn’t have time to do anything but keep going she’d so hoped to have a better start then this.
Sunlinda had reminded her of her appointments with Intake an Medical.
Then she’d be meeting her new partner.
But then Sunlinda’s sister was suffering a medical emergency so Leah said the only thing that really made sense.
She stepped in the lift that Sunlinda had graciously programmed for her before she left to be with her sister.
Leah hadn’t been prepared for the lift to stop when it did or the male who’d
quickly stepped in.
His hands were covered so she knew
what this meant.
Saxon his name was Saxon of nine and honestly she wanted to watch him he was a very striking male.
There lift came to a screech stop then
the lights went out.
Saxon immediately noticed a change in the female there present situation was seriously stressing her out.
Being trapped in a lift didn’t even make the top ten of her to-do list in fact this was absolutely the worst feeling ever.
Saxon wasn’t sure exactly how to comfort a weeping female but he was willing to do anything to comfort her.
He knew his family would tease him to no end if they ever saw him holding her.
Saxon felt like he’d been hit by lightning out of the clear blue sky.. He’d found his one this human female was his.
Leah tried to grasp what he’d said to her but all her mind could think was she’d be fired for this and she didn’t wanted to lose her new job.
Saxon could understand wanting to be independent however he wasn’t letting her go either.
He may have accidentally found her in the lift but he had absolutely no intentions sealing their bond here.
No once they were rescued he’d make sure everything was set up perfectly because Leah was going to run for him and he would give her a fair head start.
However he had every intention of catching her. And once he did
all bets were off.

I liked this story of Leah and Saxon. I wanted to give this a 3 1/2 stars, i liked this but not totally loving this because it’s super short. I’m greedy… LOL
pu
Anyways, Leah found a job in a highly saught out mining company as an intern. She know’s that this position is temporary and is excited to learn and do her job. Anyways, this job is temporary and since she is in an elevator to meet her new co-workers. She is alone with Saxon a tall hunky male that she notices. Then unfortunate events happen in the elevator that quickly changes everything. Trapped in a metal box, blackout and about the fall to sudden death. What’s a girl to do??? Gotta read the rest to know more. Also, this is a short and fast read. I am hoping Leah and Saxon’s story will lengthen more?? Hopefully, if not I would have loved an epilogue. Also, I didn’t get the title of this story until almost the end. I had to laugh at myself because it took me that long to connect the dots.
I received this ARC for my honest review. This should be out in a few more days.
Mean Right Hook honestly needs 10 gold stars it is so good !! This is Saxon and Leah’s story . Leah is so ready to start her new job but of course she just had to spill coffee on her new uniform ! After telling the one showing her around it was fine to leave her to go tend her sister , Leah steps into the elevator for the long ride down to the mines . The elevator was supposed to go straight down but makes a stop . She leans out but sees no one and figures oh well when the doors start to close and then she hears a deep HOLD and sees a clawed hand hold the door . All she can think of is holy hot male ! After talking for just a few minutes the unthinkable happens . All power is lost ! Leah is afraid of the dark and Saxon decides to try his best to help her keep calm . And one thing leads to another and OMG !! This leads to Leah being sedated !! This is oh so good !! This is one of those OUTSTANDINGLY well written and STRONGLY recommended to all !!!
Absolutely adorable with a steamy, sexy finish, Mean Right Hook was the perfect balance of sci-fi and romance. Saxon is apparently the alien equivalent of tall, dark and handsome. Usually quiet, he has no trouble talking to Leah when he first meets her. Leah has no one to call her one, she only has herself to depend on. Landing this internship and doing well will help launch her career. Meeting and being immediately attracted to a male she will be working closely with is not what she had planned. These two characters were so perfect together, I didn’t want it to be over. Luckily, Saxon has seven brothers so I think we have some more stories like this in our future!
I did really enjoy this book, that being said, not much set it apart from some of the other Xylan books. I did really like that it provides more of the background on the Illibrium mines and affinity that Xylan have for this mineral, otherwise it seemed a bit of same scenes different book.

This book definitely contained all my favorite things that I enjoy in a book…Hot alpha alien? Check. Insta-Attraction? Check. Easy and quick read? Check, Check. I enjoyed this super fast and fun read. I enjoyed the glimpse of the world that this author is building in this series and cant wait to see more of it, along with finding out more about Saxon’s brothers.
