This book is not for someone who doesn’t want to cry, to laugh, and to fall in Love with the characters. This book will take you on a roller coaster journey. I absolutely LOVED this series! When it ended, I was gutted, but it was soo worth the ride.
I have read the book but and kept the emotions in with me for life ….
Lou is a loser in a tiny village in England. She has no job, her family is always short of money , when a 6-month job opens to her. All she must do is “ babysit” a mid-30’s quadriplegic man, a once-vigorous , handsome, full-of-life powerhouse of a young man , now trapped in his wheelchair. Why 6 months? What happens? You need to read this: the evolution of all the characters in the novel is beautifully wrought, and at the end of each chapter you’re left wondering what else could possibly go wrong. It is emotional and wonderful all the way to the last sentence.
What can I say? I loved this novel and it’s follow up, but “Me Before You” will always stand out among the three. I found myself hoping beyond hope that the ending I was predicting would not occur and then sobbed when I knew it would end as I had feared. It’s a beautiful novel about love & loss – Loving someone, Loving yourself, and finding out what loss does once you’ve found both.
I haven’t yet read the third installment, but very much looking forward to following up with Lou.
Read this and could not put it down – what an incredible story and the characters were soooo real – I also watched the movie and I could not hold back the tears. I was sooo hopeful that their love would work out but there are no guarantees in this life but she really learned about life & love. Still think about this story even though I read it about two years ago – some books just stick with me !!
An original and thought provoking story.
Loved this story! Even the movie was good.
Fun read as part of the trilogy
The story was realistic but with a sad end the guy choose to give up on life but it was a great book
Very original. Great characters. Quite a page turner, which was a surprise, given the topic.
Jojo Moyes has done it again!
A very thought-provoking, heart-wrenching story that pushes the reader to question what unconditional love and determined perseverance truly means to them as a person. The story itself was beautifully written, although at the end, I despaired at how the character chose a path I would never personally want them to pursue. Even when I disagree with the outcome, I love a story that provokes those kinds of emotional responses, and forces me to consider my own stance in a situation like this. Very well done.
I have read almost all books by JoJo Moyes, love her characters and hard to put down! Thoroughly enjoyed!
One of my favorites. I love love love everything about this book. I laughed, I cried and I truly mourned the characters and the story when it was over.
Touching coming of age story for a 36 year old. Tough ending for a tough guy who lived a big life.
Easy read but thought provoking.
This is one of the few books that I have ever read where the book was almost identical to the movie. Excellent story but very sad ending.
I loved this book, I couldn’t put it down.
It was a very good book loved it
This book was so unique. I loved it, but it broke my heart.
