Steve is the VP of the MC. He’s autistic, talks funny—especially when stressed, and swears like a sailor. His mind works like a machine, focusing singularly on potential problems and clearing them with precision and stealth. Military trained as a SEAL, he was a satellite for his team, but rarely involved with them. Working alone is what he’s best at, doing it quietly is what he excels at, and … eliminating a threat to his MC family is what he was born to do. When he turns that focus on Jess she doesn’t stand a chance and her natural sub tendencies are a perfect fit.
Jess is content being single. After three years of being asked out she finally says yes to Steve. She lives with a debilitating ailment and has to keep moving. She is determined to hide that from her new MC family.
With her finance degree she helps the MC stay out of the drug trade and they offer protection from union bosses. Pres works with Jess to get businesses up and profitable enough to keep his MC going and growing. Keeping drugs out of their newly attained clean world is a challenge that Steve will not walk away from especially when Jess becomes the target.

My first introduction to this authors books. I absolutely love VP aka Knight. The way he takes care of Jess makes me want to find my own VP. The introduction to the MC series was a hit for me, looking forward to the stories of the rest of the crew.
This is Book 1 in the MC series. I really enjoyed reading this book. Steve is the VP of the Club and has a military background. His club is his family and he takes scare of them in any way needed. Jess works for the same company that Steve does and finally (after 3 years) she decides to say yes when he asks her out again. So much happens in this book. You will love it all. Well, maybe not a couple of the things but I always did say payback was fun. I can’t wait to see if the next book is just as good as this one was.
Not your usual MC
Read and loved this and went on to read all nine books in the series. MC,erotica, Ménage Marriages and a little paranormal make for some very great reads. The recurring characters lend a continuity to the storyline; it was amazing how she could keep all these characters straight. Fast paced intriguing reads.
Great Story, Loved Steve and Jess
I loved the Baxter’s so a took a chance on this tie in series. I’m not a fan of MC stories, having known a few guys that ride growing up, I don’t like the negative, thug focus a lot take. I have read a few good ones and this is a good one.
Steve Knight is the VP of the club. Former SEAL who served with Jamie and Kevin Baxter. He turned down a job with Baxter Security to work for the club he grew up in. While he wasn’t proud of the illegal activities they were involved in they are his family. Things are changing. With the president dead, Steve’s best friend Ben is now in charge and is moving the
club into legal businesses, while holding on to their core beliefs.
Jess is the CFO of the flooring company Steve works at, he has been trying for 3 years to get her to go out with him and she finally said yes.
Jess grew up in foster care. She is off a bad marriage and is cautious around men. She likes what she sees in Steve and takes a chance.
Steve and Jess click. She makes a good impression on his club brothers and their old ladies. Happily puts her financial skills into work helping the club grow their businesses and investing in the future.
I loved that their story unfolds over 5 years. Loved Steve and Jess. Loved little Ben and little Jess, can’t wait for their stories. Loved the Baxter family tie in and what Steve did for Mitch. Will be reading the next book.
The story is steamy, with light BDSM.
5 out of 5 Stars
L. Ann Marie did an amazing job with Knight: MC Series Book #1, great characters that I feel like I know in person, great story about love but also, respect and honor and taking care of each other and family. A lot of twists from medical issues to shake downs and adoption.
Jess and Steve’s story is the beginning of the MC Series, with a lot of character’s and problems to overcome to get too their HEA.
Can’t wait for book #2 La Ponte: MC Series Book #2, starting to read that one next.
This book was recommended to me by amazon and this time the recommendation was right on. Jess and Steve are a great couple. I love these two! Yes, this is an MC book, but it’s not as gritty as some I have read. It appeals to a greater audience. If you are curious I highly recommend you pick it up.
