Maze Witch: Questing Witch #3
Pam & Mac are sent to ‘the Maze’ by the Sorceress. Pam had sent Oka, Alex & new guy Wade, ahead, with food for their people/pack in the caravan! Crimson tells Alex that Jasmine was up to her old tricks again while they were gone. He knows he can’t trust her & so he can’t leave her with them while he & Oka go to search for Pam & Mac, much to Oka’s annoyance he decides to bring Jasmine with them! It could turn out to be a blessing In disguise In the long run!?
In the maze Pam is split up from Mac & has her familiar links temporarily severed. She’s plunged into darkness literally & within herself. She’s been told the maze is designed to break her so she’ll give her power away, she’s battling hard to avoid that fate! Some old friends pop in to chat! Pam is facing pain & suffering as she fights onwards to Mac. Once she finds him, fighting together is a relief, even if her heart was exposed to them both In a cruel & brutal way!!
She’s got a goal to achieve now, above & beyond denying the Sorceress & whom ever is pulling her strings, her Power!! Pam isn’t sure she’ll survive it but is becoming more & more determined to try.
This book was a breath of fresh air compared to books #1 & 2!!I can see now exactly why I was struggling with the darkness & direness of them both. Genius, and absolutely necessary for this & the next book, obviously! Now that is dedication to your world build, characters & their own paths! This was an epic journey, it had a bit of everything! An unmissable addition in this series.

Now this is where the story deviates a bit for some major plot developments. You can see why Shannon split the narration between Pamela and Alex since they become separated for most of the story. It allows the reader to get a more well-rounded view of the world as a whole, while building suspense during tense moments by switching between the two perspectives. For the first half of the book, I didn’t enjoy it much because it just took too weird of a turn for me. As you start to see the pieces fall together though, it starts to make sense, and more palatable.
The book is just SOOOO DARK. There are moments of pure torture for many of the main characters, and it started to really wear on me. And Pamela has been through sooo much already, yet it’s one of the main ways for an author to develop and advance their characters. This book was very hard for me to rate in the series because I’m still hooked and need to know what will happen in the final book, but there was a lot that didn’t sit well with me. Some of the new advancements are a step above crazy, and nothing I ever would have thought of. Finally, the ending is a MASSIVE cliffhanger. Like obnoxiously massive. So much so that I practically jumped to buy the next book immediately so I could find out what would come next. In the end, although most of the book was frustrating for me, as I step back and re-evaluate Mayer’s choices, I can somewhat grudgingly applaud her for the advancements she has made in the plot of this story in her world.
Wow! What a mind bender, complex and twisting in and out of hellish situations…i’m hoping to see some breakthrough in book 4. I’ve been white knuckling it through the end…
Audiobook review: Maze Witch is book 3 in the Questing Witch series. Pam is trapped along with Mac and must face many perils and hard truths before freedom is won. This story made me tear up. The story takes many unpredictable twists and has plenty of action. The characters are likable and believable. The narrator did a fantastic job!
Shannon Mayer does it again. she takes the character that I like the least and makes me love and root for her! This book will have you wanting to know what happens next!
Pamela is stuck in a maze, but it’s not just a maze. Facing tricks and trials she must navigate her way through this new place in order to find Mac and get free to help the people she left behind, but her captor is not letting her go without a fight. Things are not what they seem in the maze, and it seems every challenge is meant to break Pamela so that she will surrender to the one who holds her hostage, but true to herself Pamela is not going to give up that easy. Trusting herself, her magic, and those trying to guide her is not an easy task when anything and everything could be a trap, but she must find a way because it’s not just her life that hangs in the balance!
Maze Witch is amazing! Pamela has been magically transported into a dark maze. Which is designed to break her and make her give in to the darkness inside of her. She finds herself alone and afraid. Making her way through the maze she discovers more about herself and where she is. She has a lot to over come to save herself and those she loves. The journey is an emotional roller coaster. Along with some big surprises, there were a couple laugh out loud moments. As well as some very tearful ones. I am really looking forward to the next book.
This book had my heart shattered and then I have to put it again in one piece! I loved it! Loved Pamela before and now even more. She grows up with every single book a lot and not in an easy way. Just through the pain – physical and emotional, accepting and trusting the way she truly is is the hardest one.
Fast paced, action filled with turns and twists, great characters and amazing world build.
I have to admit I love everything Shannon writes and this one is the same. It’s a must read!
Maze Witch is the third book in the Questing Witch series. Pamela was thrown for a loop when she landed in that Maze. Trapped within and cut off from her familiars, Pam must face many challenges, ones that are meant to break her. Rylee had taught her well but I don’t think she was ready for that last challenge. But still she did not break. Maybe cracked a little, but in time that will heal. I’ve always enjoyed Shannon Mayers’ books and this one was no exception! Highly recommend!
Maze Witch is the 3 book in the Questing Witch series and a Branch off or a continuation of the Rylee Adamson series.. This is Pamela’s story.
Pamela is the worlds youngest and strongest witches.. because Pamela is an Elemental Witch meaning she has all of the powers of Elemental and she is a witch.. Her father is Raven an Elemental and her mother is a full dark magic witch ..
Pamela must face the maze head on and save the ones that she loves. we also hear from Alex, Mac the Shifter Polar Bear that Pamela loves.. the fun Loving Oka .. Pamela’s familiar..
This book is full of lots of action, lots of worry from Alex and Oka, and love for all characters..
If you want to know what happens you will need to get the book and read..
