Ford Spurlock has known Ashe Trammel since they were babies. He’s also done his level best to stay away from her because every time he gets to within five feet of her, they’re fighting like cats and dogs.Ashe is the apple of her father’s eye. The motorcycle club princess that was never to be harmed in any way—or touched for that matter. And he’s always resented the fact that she could get away … could get away with things that he couldn’t. Things that she then blames on him and he always gets punished for.
Fast forward to adulthood, and Ashe is still off limits. Still driving him insane. Still…beautiful.
She never misses an opportunity to give him hell, either.
That has to be why he agrees to do a photoshoot for KPD SWAT that’ll benefit her charity even when he’d rather shoot himself in the foot with his duty weapon.

Ashe never thought he’d agree.
Honestly, she thought she’d ask him, he’d say no, and that’d be the end of it.
She never realized that she’d leave his photo up in her cubicle, and it’d be the last thing that she saw every night as she locked her office door.
When they were kids, Ford used to be that boy that threw dirt at her and pulled her hair.
Now, he’s the same Ford Spurlock, only a whole lot sexier. And a lot harder to say no to.
When he challenges her to one date, she has no other recourse but to agree.
What she didn’t agree to was falling in love with Mr. March. Or wanting to give him everything she had to give.

I still can’t believe that I only just started reading Lani Lynn Vale, her books are the bomb. In this book we get a fun childhood enemies to lovers story that steams up your weekend. A total must read.
I love that we a get a couple releases by LLV every month, I always look forward to reading her books and I put EVERYTHING down when one hits my kindle. Next in the KPD Swat Generation 2.0 series is Ashe and Ford’s story in Maybe Swearing Will Help. A good ole frenemies to lovers romance that I enjoyed every minute of.
One thing that I love about Lani’s books are the heroines, they’re tough cookies and can absolutely hold their own. Also, I realize that they all kind of have this hidden awesome-ness about them.
I think the bet that this story drives on was one of my favorite things of their story. Because Ashe and Ford have soooo much history together, I loved that he had inside information about her that she blew everyone else away. However, I hated the unfair treatment when she worked her butt off every single time. I know her name carries a lot, but she’s truly strong and hardworking individual.
These two have the insane amount of everything for one another and I loved watching their feelings come out. Such a great read and I can’t recommend this series enough.
**AN ARC WAS PROVIDED IN EXCHANGE FOR A REVIEW**
Lani Lynn Vale
This is the third book in the KDP SWAT Next Generation series. They are stand alones, and you won’t be lost if you haven’t read the original SWAT, or previous series.
This is Ashe and Ford’s story.
I knew these two would end up together! I’ve known it since the epilogue in one of their parents books and they were toddlers.
Ashe is no longer the little girl that fit into a big gulp cup as a baby. Shes almost done with her Masters. And she sure can kick some ass too!
Ford is a member of the SWAT team, just like his dad.
These two still fight like cats and dogs. And man, it will have you laughing hard.
It was just a matter of time before they both realized that they don’t hate each other. Once that happens…Well, ya just need to read about Kia and Soot.
Now we do have some unanswered questions. But, I know they will be cleared up in other books. Lani is setting something up and I absolutely love when she does this!
“Dear Math, please grow up and solve your own problems.”
Ok that’s the Lani Lynn Vale book I have been wanting. Honestly I read the first two books in this series and didn’t even care what this one was about I already knew I was reading it. Then I read the blurb and was a little apprehensive.
Ashe sounded like a bit of a bitch and I thought I wouldn’t like her. But honestly whoever wrote that blurb was a dirty rotten liar because I loved Ashe. She and Ford might have fought like cat and dog but underneath it they were thick as thieves and I really enjoyed their dynamic.
Having most of the book told in present tense with a small glimpse into the past made me appreciate their friendship. And I liked that they were both clueless about their attraction to each other. But everyone around them was just waiting to see what was going to light the fuse on the powder keg.
Ford was all things great. He respected Ashe’s strength and ability but he still wanted to keep her safe and protected. He got all protective whenever he thought someone was interested in her but he didn’t act like a dick.
The story was intriguing and I feel like there’s a few storylines there that I am dying to see play out over the course of the series. And I really need to read the earlier series because I am loving being introduced to all of these characters but I feel like I’m missing out on their stories.
But for now I am just going to wait and see who’s Mr April and who’s the lucky lady to have him win her over.
This is an epic enemies-to-lovers romance, that has all of that plus everything that we have come to expect from a LLV romance! This is one of my favorite books in this series so far (Yes, I know the series just started, and I know that I will probably say that about each new book!) At least I didn’t ball my eyes out with this story! Ford and Ashe’s story was just as amazing as I knew it would be!
Ashe and Ford grew up together in the MC, from babyhood! Their parents were friends, and they were constantly at the same functions. For some reason, they always rubbed each other the wrong way, pulling pranks on each other, picking on each other, trying to one up each other! There was a certain level of animosity, but underneath, there was a heat that neither would admit to! And when it finally exploded, it EXPLODED big!
The story of Ashe and Ford started with taunts and jokes, but under it all, they still had each other’s backs, even when they thought they hated each other. It just goes to show that big emotions always have a reason, regardless of whether it is love or hate, and the two emotions are very similar! There was a lot going on in this story, but it was still a very sweet, fun story!
Friends to lovers with sparks that knock this one out of the park! Ashley @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Lani Lynn Vale is slowing working her way up my top author list! LLV work gets better every story she writes. This series just keeps getting better. Ford and Ashe are two friends who grew up together and would fight because the feeling between the two were not acted on. As these two have become adults could they find that the line is now a little different? The sparks and story of friends to lovers will have you turning the pages and not putting the books down.
I seriously loved Ford & Ashe! These two basically grew up as “best frenemies” (It’s a thing. I promise!) and the chemistry between these two was just so dang hot. I loved watching them try to come to grips with their feelings because they’ve denied it for most of their lives, and when they finally give in…they go all in! As always we get the heat, the drama, and hot men from KPD!
This was another amazing read by LLV. I am so obsessed with this series and I’m counting down the days to the next one in the series! **grabby hands**
I think Ford and Ashe is my favourite couple so far. They way the two of them argue back and forth is sometimes hilarious and this title was exactly correct for these two, lol. But from the start you could see that there was a chemistry between them that both of them was just ignoring. But the more they are together the more you see that they are so meant to be.
Ford I wanted to hit up the head sometimes because its like he on purposely didn’t want to see Ashe. I liked Ashe. She was feisty and stubborn and take no prisoners. Like I said definitely my favourite story so far
Everything about this book was just so good, I finished it in one day. (I tried dragging it out longer, but I couldn’t) I finished the book and I was like Huh, what happened there is still a big question not answered here Lani Lynn Vale…. But the author left a note in the back saying there is lots of unanswered questions but it will be dealt with in the next book. So Hot Damn I need the next book like ASAP!
Smart, Sassy and so many Sparks! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Lani Lynn Vale cannot write a bad story. If you have started this series just keep enjoying all her words. Ford and Ashe light up my kindle with all the Sparks. These two grew up together, getting in trouble and fighting. They say there is a fine line between love and hate… they find out. THIS SERIES IS KNOCKING MY SOCKS OFF!
5 Loving Stars!
Enemies to lovers Lani Lynn Vale style is exactly as magnificent as you think it is. Ford and Ashe have undeniable chemistry that flies off the pages immediately and that chemistry continues to get more and more explosive as they finally begin to admit their real feelings for each other. Every sarcastic remark, every dare, every moment of banter is filled with a sexual tension that will have you fanning yourself.
Just like all their friends and family you can see right away that these two are clearly completely in love with each other and belong together. The only ones oblivious to that fact seem to be them. While they toss barbs at each other they also go out of their way to protect each other and it was honestly so freaking hilarious and sweet at the same time I couldn’t get enough of it.
Maybe Swearing Will Help is loaded with Lani’s signature humor, suspense & romance that will have you needing to cool off and swooning.
I am such a sucker for a good enemies-to-lovers story. Vale knocked it out of the park with Ford and Ashe’s story. I couldn’t get enough of the back and forth between these two. The name calling alone had me laughing out loud and loving them more with every new name.
This one had me laughing out loud, all while falling deep in love with the swoony Ford. I cannot get enough of this series and I can’t wait to see what comes next from this new generation of SWAT!
Another 5 Star Winner
The next book for the SWAT second generation is here and should not be missedFord and Ashe have always had a love/hate relationship…..okay to be fair they leaned more towards hate than love But now that they are older and soon to be working in together, things start progressing to the point neither can deny their relationship has shifted to the other side of the love/hate divide
Loved this story and I can’t wait to read more
Ford and Ashe grew up as frenemies. These two always got into trouble daring each other to do crazy stunts. And neither of them could pass up on a dare especially if the other one accomplished it first. But when push comes to shove they always have each other‘s backs. Now that they are both adults can they stop bickering and picking on each other to see what everyone else sees? That they are perfect for each other. When a dare goes awry and leaves Ashe applying and getting accepted to the police force Ford has his work cut out for him because he is Ashe’s training partner and sparks fly. The mysterious kitten disappearances is a mystery Ashe hold dear to her heart and desperately wants to solve. Working together can Ford and Ashe solve it while their relationship blossoms? I can’t wait for book 4 of this gripping series. We watched the first generation of SWAT people fall in love and get their HEA now it’s on to the kids!!
I received a complimentary ARC – early release copy of this book in Kindle format from the author for review purposes.
So this is my first book by this author and I am impressed. I definitely have a bunch of books to get and read. Its absolute perfection.
This is the story of Ashe and Ford who grew up together and had a love hate thing going on. Now they are all grown up and all they do is bicker. Until one day they let it all go and follow their attraction.
This book was So much fun, I loved watching these two together as they follow their dreams and challenge each other. Ashe is one tough cookie and I loved how Ford absolutely loved that about her He stood by her and he helped her when she needed it. I loved how excited and happy he was about a life with her.
This was an awesome story and I cannot wait to read more in this series. It easily stands alone though I want to read more stories in this series and the authors other series.
Ford and Ashe’s story is a great example of frenemies to lovers.
They grew up together but grew apart during high school. Everyone but them know their real feelings.
As adults they live to rub each other the wrong way, just to get a reaction.
When they rub each other, the right way, they struggle to understand what comes next.
Their journey to HEA is laugh out loud funny and amazingly endearing when you see the lengths Ford will go to, to ensure that Ashe is looked after and safe.
Another great addition to Lani Lynn Vale’s ‘The SWAT 2.0 Series’
Ford and Ashe have known each for years and years. They’ve always been there for each other when the other needed them. They may have always been frenemies since they can remember but it’s all about to change for these two.
I loved that Ashe was a strong h. She wasn’t a whiner or a complainer. Ford was definitely an alpha and FINALLY saw the light when it came to Ashe. Once he did, everybody step back because he wasn’t letting anything or anyone stand in his way.
I absolutely laughed out loud in so many places in this book. The nicknames that Ashe had for Ford were hilarious!!! I couldn’t wait to see how this was going to end. Would Ashe and Ford get their HEA without Ashe’s dad killing Ford before it was all said and done?
Quick read with humor and suspense. All questions not answered, but with a promise they will be.
This series is quick, quirky, and I’ve enjoyed some characters more than others. I definitely enjoyed Ford aka Chevy, Mazda, Kia…and Ashe aka Soot or Ember – their witty banter and hilarious nicknames will keep you chuckling. It’s really no surprise that their disdain and hate for each other is really just covering up some intense chemistry.
This one has less to do with the photoshoot than the others, but otherwise, the story is pretty true to the blurb. This one will have some intrigue, but the true heart of the book is the frenemy friendship of these two that grows into something so much more.
I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

This is the story of Ashe and Ford who have grown up together and she threw him under the bus during that time more times than he can count. They had to outdo each other or die. Now however that they are older he makes her sick with the revolving door of women he has coming and going. She is a cat lover and will do anything to save them including asking Ford to do a calendar that will raise money for all the cats. However Ford is not interested in the least in helping but he will use this opportunity to make a bet with her. However she chooses to up the bet and swear that she will make the SWAT team. However her family has pull in the PD and that causes her to receive special treatment. I loved this story. These two kept me guessing and I loved the relationship that they formed. As always the headers on the chapters are amazing and always keep me giggling and loving secret thoughts and sayings.
Hello Mr March <3
This one feature Ford Spurlock and Ashe Trammel's story. These two have been friends all their lives but have seriously enjoying winding each other up, with sometimes not good outcomes. I loved their relationship, the banter, the wit, the pranks, the arguments, all serious foreplay as their connection was undeniably hot!
Again LLV has done a phenomenal job with her Kilgore world. Each book draws you in even further and builds on your addiction. Yet again a captivating page turner I devoured in one sitting.
Can't wait to read the next one in this series As If I Care and is Hayes's book which I am seriously intrigued about.
This is the 3rd book in this brilliant 2nd generation series and is Ford and Ashe’s story. These two have been enemies since childhood and the sparks fly between them, but will they recognise what the hate/love relationship between them means and see what everybody around then already knows before it is to late? No spoilers: this is a definite must read you will not be disappointed. This is a well written story which is humorous and entertaining and with crazy shenanigans which all had me totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner. I highly recommend for all readers.
