Ford Spurlock has known Ashe Trammel since they were babies. He’s also done his level best to stay away from her because every time he gets to within five feet of her, they’re fighting like cats and dogs.Ashe is the apple of her father’s eye. The motorcycle club princess that was never to be harmed in any way—or touched for that matter. And he’s always resented the fact that she could get away … could get away with things that he couldn’t. Things that she then blames on him and he always gets punished for.
Fast forward to adulthood, and Ashe is still off limits. Still driving him insane. Still…beautiful.
She never misses an opportunity to give him hell, either.
That has to be why he agrees to do a photoshoot for KPD SWAT that’ll benefit her charity even when he’d rather shoot himself in the foot with his duty weapon.
***
Ashe never thought he’d agree.
Honestly, she thought she’d ask him, he’d say no, and that’d be the end of it.
She never realized that she’d leave his photo up in her cubicle, and it’d be the last thing that she saw every night as she locked her office door.
When they were kids, Ford used to be that boy that threw dirt at her and pulled her hair.
Now, he’s the same Ford Spurlock, only a whole lot sexier. And a lot harder to say no to.
When he challenges her to one date, she has no other recourse but to agree.
What she didn’t agree to was falling in love with Mr. March. Or wanting to give him everything she had to give.

What a cliffhanger! While the book resolves itself, there is a little breadcrumb of a storyline that I thought we would find out what happened only to not and I am dying to know! Ford and Ashe have been best friends since childhood, but are friends that can’t stand each other and are extremely competitive towards each other. As adults, they still act the same, competitive and pushing each others buttons as much as they can. Their latest bet involves Ashe making it into the police and SWAT team. While Ashe isn’t completely interested, she ends up taking on the challenge and continues to prove people wrong while winning the best against Ford. While this book wasn’t as suspenseful as others, it did allude to a serial killer, and I for one am so excited to see where it ends up! These two finally hit a wall where the hate and love towards each other ride the fine line and love trumps the hate. Love these books and this author and can’t wait for the next one!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
4 Stars!!
Having read the first two books in the SWAT Generation 2.0 Series I couldn’t wait for the third book! With every book this series continues to steal my heart! I was so happy to be back in this world and how absolutely addictive this installment was. I really enjoyed Maybe Swearing Will Help!
Ashe and Ford’s journey was entertaining from beginning to end! I adored these two characters, their love/hate relationship, their determination, and their banter. I loved how their story kept me on my toes throughout as well.
Lani Lynn Vale has created another awesome addition to this series with Maybe Swearing Will Help! I’m still grinning just thinking about it. (:
After finishing this one, I’m already counting down the days until Ask Me If I Care releases! This series is becoming one of my all time favorites!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Wildfire Marketing Solutions / the author*
I loved Chevy and Soot, sorry I mean Ford and Ashe! These two had me laughing out loud with their bickering and stupid bets! This series is something I look forward to every month, bring on Mr. April!
Ford and Ashe. These two were a couple that I was excited for. One reason being one of the two is a Spurlock kid, and well when it comes to those Spurlock’s I can’t get enough. That and from when you first meet these when they were children they were funny. So when I saw that they were going to be the next couple in the SWAT 2.0 series I couldn’t wait to get my hands on their book.
This book was one that had me laughing with all the back and forth between theses two. The nicknames that Ashe comes up with for Ford are some of the best moments. And then there was some serious moments slipped in there to help balance the moments. There wan’t a moment that I didn’t enjoy while I was reading. I loved seeing some of my old favorites, and getting a few more glimpses of some of the characters still to come. I loved that there was also parts to the store that is going to be continued into future books, this just makes me wanting them to hurry up and be released.
This was another hit for LLV for me. There was moments of laughing and some that have you asking questions. In all it was the perfect combination, that kept me reading till I got the end in one sitting. Now the wait for the next book in
I wasn’t sure about this one when I first started; the constant arguing and name calling was making me crazy.
Ashe was an absolutely amazing heroine and I want to be her BFF. Ford was a Spurlock through and through.
Funny and steamy with a fast paced storyline, amazing characters and an HEA.
Absolutely amazing. I love this series so hard. Couldn’t put it down. I love these two for each other and the banter is hilarious. Can’t wait for more of this series.
I SO loved Maybe Swearing Will Help! Ford & Ashe bickering back and forth as if they hated each other was hilarious. And I absolutely adored all the nicknames she had for him. I love the all the series that Lani Lynn Vale writes and how she weaves them together, truly amazing.
I keep saying this, but best book of the series so far!! I loved them so much, it was the perfect combination of funny, sweet and spicy! I can’t wait for the next book!
Heartfelt, adorable and sexy as all get out! With book 3 in her ever delectable KPD SWAT Generation 2.0 series, Lani Lynn Vale brings us Ford’s story in MAYBE SWEARING WILL HELP. This is turning out to be my favorite in the series … so far. There’s just something about all those nicknames.
Ford and Ashe are like oil and water … ask anyone. If one says blue, the other says green just to have something to fight about. When a bet brings about major changes in their life, things start to change more than they ever expected.
Ford is self-assured and delightful and Ashe makes us proud when she proves she can do anything she sets her mind to, so watching them fall for each other at the same time as they still constantly poke fun at the other is a really fun experience. I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone who enjoys a fast paced love story between two highly independent characters who simply are better together. There’s laughter, there’s friendship and there’s a large cast of friends and family smiling through it all. Looking forward to more to come in the series!
These two were such a fun to read!! One of the best frenemies to lovers romance I’ve read in a long time. The chemistry & banter will keep you intrigued, not realizing the book is getting ready to end. At least that’s what happened to me. I have enjoyed seeing the romance bloom for these kids of some amazing characters that LLV has created in this book world. This book shows more than just the best frenemies, but the best thin line between love & hate. I not exactly sure there is true hate in this book, but is there ever when love is involved! By far my favorite book from this 2.0 generation series!
I highly recommend this book. Told in dual POV.
I really liked Ford & Ashe. I liked the nicknames they had for each other. Even when they thought they were insulting each other, you could hear the teasing & affection. Lots of interesting things going on in the story, but some parts felt a little … off. I think it’s because things are being set up for future books in the series, which is cool. This is going to be one of those series I enjoy reading all together once it’s finished, I think!
Ford & Ashe have chemistry, banter, steam & an overall enjoyable story! And I loved how their families & other characters interact. Looking forward to Hayes & his story!!!! : )
*4.5 stars*
Laugh out loud read with all the feels…
I probably say that about all of this author’s stories but they have never failed to make me laugh. To make me misty umpteen times. And always, always leave me craving more. Unique characters with relationships that spark emotion across the spectrum, Ford and Ashe are the latest example of why I am such a devoted fan…
“I’ve loved you for forever… You were just too busy arguing with me to see it.”
Oh my heart… These two were just plain hilarious. From frenemy friction to straight up mushy love their transition from childhood tomfoolery to serious relationship was a no holds barred walk on the almost wild side. Dares used to be (and still are) the norm even as broken bones may have been left behind years ago (we hope). In close quarters again, they seized the opportunity for more shenanigans and a whole lotta love…
If I was left with questions I ignored them (for now) as I know there will answers to come… And more of this fun and loving duo and a family that just gets (delightfully) bigger and bigger.

I am so digging this series and can’t wait for the next one. I loved Ford and Ashe together. I loved their shenanigans when they were kids, along with the prologue. I love the fact that LLV gives us a look into the future. I usually read books that have prologues because I WANT to know what happens. This is another five-star book in the new Swat 2.0 series.

I’m just going to say it straight: read the previous books and I mean ALL, start at Boomtown and work your way down, that will make this second gen series even better. First we watched their parents, Ashe’s Torren and Tru and Ford’s Trance and Viddy, fall in love and get their HEA’s, now we get to see their children and what a story this was. Mortal enemies since childhood, Ashe and Ford are also the best of friends. The two always in trouble in some form or fashion, normally a dare gone wrong. The newest bet is whether Ashe can make in on the SWAT team or not; if she loses then she has to go on a date with Ford and if she wins then Ford has to take part in a calendar and donate to a cat charity. When the two share a moment, a moment that had them acting out the need felt, the need they both had been denying, Ford claims it was a one time thing, and Ashe doesn’t know what to think. Can the two only keep it to one and done? Will they wake up and see just what everyone else already sees?
This was such a cute story! Ashe and Ford’s antics had me laughing like a loon. I love how real LLV makes her stories, so relatable; and adding funny moments like the school line scene, cuz we all know that crap is for the birds. Lani Lynn Vale can transport you to this world that she created and have you never wanting to come back to the real one. I give this 5 stars.

Yes! I have wanted to read about Ford and Ashe getting together ever since we read about their shenanigans as little kids in their parents’ books. Now adults, the two still can’t stop riling each other up and constantly bicker. However, there is something more than hatred there. Yes they’ve always had each other’s backs despite their warring, but now there is more to it… could it actually be love?
I loved this. I mean I always do love LLV books but to have “seen” both parts of this pairing as children and now as adults finding their HEA makes it a bit more special. I can’t wait for the next one and give it 5 stars.
Ford & Ashe . . . they’ve known each other since they were babies and have been arguing since they could talk. Constant dares. Always trying to one up each other. But, they always have each other’s backs. They also have a crazy attraction for one another, that when they finally act on it, promising it will be a one time only thing, there is no containing it.
Maybe Swearing Will Help was really all about Ford and Ashe’s relationship transforming from not quite friends to lovers and then soul mates. I loved their banter. The nicknames they toss at one another was crazy entertaining. I love that they could tease and annoy each other, but wouldn’t let anyone else do the same without going to the rescue.
I enjoyed watching Ashe make her way in the police department and stand up for what she wanted without taking favors from her Uncle, who happens to be the police chief. It’s not easy being a woman what many consider to be a man’s world. I loved that Ford and the rest of the SWAT team had her back.
My favorite part of this book was that everyone knew Ashe and Ford were meant to be together, including their parents. It just took them years and a highly entertaining relationship ride to figure it out on their own. I’m loving this series and characters and cannot wait for more. 4 stars.
With each and every book Lani releases I swear it’s my absolute favorite and Maybe Swearing Will Help has joined that club. I fell head over heels in love with Ford and Ashe. Ford is so much like his dad. He’s completely swoon worthy, protective, stubborn, and oh so hot. He’s witty and so funny. Ashe is the exact same way, she’s hilarious. Their connection was felt from the first page.
I love Ashe and Ford together. They have such an easy teasing relationship that you can help but envy. Once again I was swept off my feet by Lani Lynn Vale’s words and Maybe Swearing Will Help will be at the top of my reread list!
Once again we get to see the kids of the original SWAT team and this one we have Ford and Ashe
Ford and Ashe have grown up together and have always been friends who give each other all kinds of crap then they grow up , when they both realize what they want the go after it but have the drama that all couples have . The best part us we get to see some of our favorite couples from previous books
I loved the back and forth banter between Ashe and Ford in this book, it had me laughing the majority of the time. Ashe and Ford have known each other since they were kids and have always taunted each other to the breaking point but also have protected each other. Fast forward to adulthood and one bet changed everything for these two and the no longer see the annoying person they loved to taunt but so much more!
I gobbled this one right up. I’m not gonna lie I was a little worried of where one part of the book was going because for me it’s a hard limit even with one of my favorite authors. I shouldn’t have worried because Lani Lynn Vale didn’t let me down. I loved Ford and Ashe. It’s an enemies to lovers story. You could cut the sexual tension between Ford and Ashe with a knife. They have a ton of chemistry and it was funny to watch them fall. This book has plenty of humor that I’ve come to love about Vale’s writing. Plus Ashe won me right over with her love of cats and her volunteer work at the cat shelter. Ford said some fighting words when it comes to me,but I forgave him. He does many swoon worthy things to make up for it. I LOVED the epilogue! It made my heart happy sigh along with some laughs.
Ford Spurlock and Ashe Trammell have a long and storied history, meaning, they have known and competed with each other for as long as they can remember. Now that they’re grown, nothing much has changed, except, maybe, for the way that they’re coming to see each other. Their wagers, though, they’re just as fierce as ever, and this one’s a doozy.
I’m a big-time fan of enemies, or, rather, frenemies-to-lovers stories, and MAYBE SWEARING WILL HELP has plenty of this and more. I think that the thing that I like most about books by Lani Lynn Vale is the quirkiness. I mean, yes, there’s romance, yes, there’s some suspense, but I can say for sure that Lani’s characters are definitely not boring or run-of-the-mill, and that’s the real draw for me. I am enjoying the books in her KPD SWAT Generation 2.0 series so much, and it’s because I know that I’m going to have the best time while the stories unfold.
This is the third book in a series, so not only builds on past books, but paves the way for future plot and action. I am entirely enthralled with this world, and cannot wait to read more of what LLV has up her sleeve.
