After my love for Maybe #1, I was very excited to see the story had continued that I read this book within a day! Was very easy reading and was lovely to read on about how Ridge and Sydney’s love just kept developing and developing. I loved it so much I want MORE!
Although I must say, I’m not a fan of Maggie. Her story is inspiring however I only lightly read her chapters and was more excited to read more Ridge and Sydney.
Maybe #3 please I WANT MORE RIDGE AND SYDNEY
Love anything by Hoover.
I enjoyed getting more of Ridge and Sydney. The thing that kinda turned me off about this book even though it got cleared up later and everyone who ok with one another was how Sydney and Maggie acted in regards to their relationships with Ridge and just their way of thinking. Maggie acted nothing like the giddy girl I saw in Maybe Someday and did some petty stuff to be spiteful towards Ridge’s relationship with Sydney. I didn’t like how Sydney was getting upset about Ridge still caring about Maggie. I’m very happy they were all so very mature about the situation, I just didn’t like it because despite how Ridge and Sid got together they were both out of line.
I did really like Maggie meeting Jake and seeing her really trying to live her life. I would have liked to just have a book with her and Jake and not have it being shared with Ridge and Sydney. I loved the direction her life was headed and how much she realized that Ridge wasn’t the right person for her and how love came about in an unexpected way.
Overall I thought Maybe Now was just ok even though the last third of the book was really good.
This book picks up right where with left off with Maybe Someday, but it starts with Maggie. It was so nice to get Maggies POV right off the bat; you learn so much more from here in just that first chapter and it really helps to make you understand things that much more. Jake seems like exactly what Maggie needs. Someone to help her embrace her life and live it to the fullest without feeling like he has to hold her back to keep her safe, but still careful enough with the knowledge to take care of her. I could not imagine anyone better than him for her. I’m glad she stopped being so stubborn and embraced him because she so deserved to be loved like Jake will love her.
So not only do we get Maggie and Jake, but we get a continuation of Ridge and Sydney. It was so nice to get to see their relationship without them holding back. They are made for each other. Sydney can love Ridge in the way that Maggie never could and help him step outside his safety net and push him in ways he needs to be pushed. I will say this again Sydney is and extraordinary character. Her empathy and compassion is astounding and she is truly selfless. I love all the characters in these book Ridge and Sydney and Jake and Maggie and Warren and even Bridgette and Brennan (Brennen needs as story like I feel like it is unfinished, I need more Brennan.) Again the audio is vital the narrators really elevate the story and along with Webber and Goethals you have Ross and Ross who really bring Jake and Maggie to life.
DNF. I tried reading (it was free on Amazon) and listening (borrowed from library) and I couldn’t finish this either time. Despite *loving* the first book and the novella and these narrators in particular ~ this was horrible.
I usually appreciate COHO’s style and knowing there’s a reason for it all ~ but this felt off. It didn’t feel like the same author, it didn’t feel like the same people, and it also felt emotionally immature. Maybe it was that it was trying to cover too many different people. Maybe it’s a case where an author never intended a sequel but gave in to demands from publishers or fans and it just shows.
Not only didn’t this work for me but I feel like it’s tainted the other “Maybe” books. I’m going to have to wait until this fades from my memory before I can enjoy them again and that’s the worst part of this debacle.
