I really loved this story and had a lot of fun reading it.
Jackson Spearman and Amy Walker get to know each other through work and communicate virtually through emails/messages. They don’t get along very well and don’t know each other personally, but as time goes by, their relationship also changes as they get to know each other a little more.
When a twist plot that I didn’t really expect happens, things get really interesting.
I loved the story, the characters and the plot is fantastic.
I highly recommend the reading.
Can I just say how much I loved this book? I mean its a little different then I normally read but it so works with Jackson and Em. This is a twist on things. You don’t have the normal meet cute like most books. I did love how they eventually met. Such a great idea. Behind a computer and a different name, she’s a no nonsense get things done kinda girl. She’s also sassy as hell. I absolutely loved how they talked to each other whether it was thru office text or regular text. I his say I fell hard for Jackson. He gave it right back to her. So many times I laughed at how snarky they were to each other. It’s amazing how when the right person comes into our lives, how wuickly things fall into place. This book was great! It was hard to put down, thats for sure!! I want more Jackson and Em!!!
Another great read by the author. With a blend of Snarky, interesting and well meaning characters, this book is one that begs to be read and re-read.
A romance set in the world of virtual help. Will this love find it’s way outside to the real world and if so, will they be able to find the connection that started with a Questionnaire?
I love both Em and Jackson as characters, both who are trying to find something that was once lost to them.
The secondary characters in this novel as the friends of Em and the family of Jack also made this a rich endeavor. I highly recommend this book.
5 unique and startling stars!
This read was something else entirely and positively startling. I loved the whole concept of the story line and how it was delivered. It still held a lot of angst and made me very curious. Especially after the significant twist I couldn’t wait to see how this whole situation will unravel and what consequences main characters would need to face.
Heart wants what it wants and we cannot trick it. I fell in love with main characters and constantly feel connected to their story. Great, funny, entertaining but also with deeper meaning and emotions that kept me wanting to know more about heroine and hero.
Fantastic romantic comedy, fresh, different than any other, sweet, funny and very entertaining.
OMG!!!!!!! This book deserves so many more than 5 stars! If I could give it 500 that would never be enough! I was hooked from the very first page! The way the author made these characters come alive though their emails and chats back and forth had me laughing out loud more than once. Jackson is such a stubborn, demanding, and grouchy character and the way that Amy handles him was perfect.
When I first read the synopsis, I was interested, but still not sure what exactly I was getting into. Boy oh boy did this book deliver. Both Amy and Jackson have become guarded from the world each for different reasons. They have given up on ever letting anyone get close to them and find it hard to open up to even each other at first. As the story progresses they each begin to trust the other more and more and are soon forming a friendship. Because of this friendship they both begin to look at life a little differently and realize that maybe letting others in isn’t such a bad idea.
There are several twists and turns throughout this book and a few moments that made me want to reach in and give Amy and Jackson a shake.
I am definitely going to need to get my hands on more of this author’s books!
ONE CLICK THIS ONE ASAP! You will not be disappointed! – By Alisa
This book was the first rom/com by this author. She takes a risky way of writing (email format) and turns it into a thing of beauty. It has several moments that make you shake with laughter. The characters are strong, sarcastic and flawed, but that’s what makes this story so good. It includes more than your average aspects of romance. I didn’t want this story to end!! The risk in writing this way turned into a masterpiece by Claudia Burgoa. Well done my friend!!
This was a very different type of story. It was a great change from what I normally read. It is written in a very unique way that made me like it even more, with a twist added in. This story is entertaining yet unpredictable and emotional as well. It has great characters and was well-written. I would recommend this story!
Loved this rom-com book! It was outstanding; it was such a great read!! It will have you laughing and you won’t be able to put it down. I am still grinning—can’t help it! The first half had me laughing so hard and the other half, I was too busy swooning over handsome, demanding, and sexy Jackson Spearman. This page-turning story completely encapsulates the madness of the first stirrings of love and lust when you can’t get enough of someone, and all the games between the two characters were hilariously well done. The banter between the two characters and the way they come around to their realization at the end of the story was really well done with so many heart wrenching emotions. This is the first time I read a book by Claudia Burgoa, but I understand this is her first time writing a romantic comedy—I assure you it will not be the last book I read of hers. Claudia Burgoa manages to weave humorous plotlines centered on romantic ideas with artfully developed main characters. The storyline is fluid, and it will pique your interest. Highly recommend this book. You won’t regret reading Maybe Later!
Claudia never ceases to amaze me with her ability to bring fresh ideas into her books! The way this book was written was unlike anything I have ever seen and it will shock some but seriously is genius and it makes the back and forth banter that much more interesting! I couldn’t picture this story told any other way and if you love new and fresh ideas then this book is for you!!
J. Spearman is a pain the butt boss who has no heart and is as cold as ice but is that really who the man is, or is he more but too afraid to show it? Amy is a woman on a mission and pulls out all the stops to make sure her clients are taken care of! Her bubbly personality doesn’t mesh well with the boss but oh well he signed a contract but what neither anticipated was that the world beyond their screens was more then either could’ve anticipated, but if only it could’ve been discovered together!????
Maybe Later is a quirky and fun book that’s completely different from anything Claudia Burgoa has written before. I really enjoyed this romcom about Amy Walker and Jackson Spearman. Their witty banter and slow burn was the perfect combination.
Maybe Later by Claudia Burgoa is a contemporary, slow burn, workplace romantic comedy told in dual POV. It follows the relationship between Jackson, a grumpy CEO, and Amy, his snarky and very capable virtual assistant. They meet for the first time via email after Jackson’s assistant, Carol, hires Amy to fill in for her while she’s out on maternity leave.
The bulk of the story unfolds as Amy and Jackson communicate through emails and text messages. Over time they form a connection and feelings develop even though they haven’t met in person. There are some twists, and even though I figured everything out before the big reveal, I still greatly enjoyed it. So far, this story is one of my favorites by the author. It was witty, endearing, and absolutely delightful.
*** I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC. ***
Wow, wow, wow!! I feel like I’ve been through a whirlwind but in the best way ever!!! I could not put this book down and had to know what happened. I can’t say much as I don’t want to give anything away but you’re going to love this story! It’s different from what Ms. Burgos has written in the past but I loved every single minute of it!!!
This is a cute, unique love story. Amy runs a virtual assistant company, and takes on the “problem children” clients herself. Jackson Is one of those, and they both find themselves drawn to the other person. When Amy meets a man she’s interested in, she is torn between her newfound connection with her client and the new man in her life.
These characters were funny and witty, and I liked Amy’s sass. I’d recommend this book.
A new to me author and a fun read. Jackson and Emmeline were very complex characters, they had a lot of stuff going on. Jackson is the CEO of an up-growing technical company. He’s grouchy and obnoxious, with a reason. He went through a horrible divorce years ago that soured him greatly. Emmeline is the product of old, wealthy parents who only wanted perfection and that she follow their footsteps into their law firm. She rebelled and is now the owner of a successful and growing service company.
They meet online when Jack’s assistant goes on maternity leave and gets him a virtual assistant to help him out for three months. Their initial emails are a hoot, as Jack behaves like a douche and Emmeline, acting as Amy Walker, whips him into shape, conforming him into the client she wants to have. Day by day, she challenges him, sends him motivational quotes, a playlist geared to improve his moods, and changes his preference for lunch into a daily adventure where he never knows what he will get. She changed him from a curmudgeon into a friendlier man with an open mind. In return, Jack/Jackson changed Em/Amy from a loner and recluse into a woman ready to trust and find love.
The big mess starts when Jack meets Emmeline but neither knows that the other is Jackson the CEO and Amy the virtual assistant. We the readers know and are biting our nails waiting for the discovery. It was like reading two different love stories, starred by the same individuals in their different personas, one online and one in person. It was crazy fun to see how each character evolved, both online and in person.
Reading this book required a lot of attention to the dates and hours of each email and text message, then checking which character and in which mode they were communicating. It had dual POV’s, dual personalities, and different modes of communication. It was a mess but the author kept it sorted and logical, never confusing, and a lot of fun. Very riveting!
The book was great! Full of humor, wit and banter, some snarkiness, some sad scenes, and a HEA. Loved it!
Received this ARC and am leaving an honest review.
I loved the chemistry between Jackson and Emmeline! Being able to read their email/text correspondence really made the story feel more like real life. The story flowed well, but I felt like it was part of a series that I hadn’t yet read. Overall, a great read!
I went into this story thinking it’s a work place rom-com but wow did it end up being so much more.
The characters are so complex. They are funny, they are driven, they need each other. I laughed so much but the more I learned about them, the more I felt every ounce of heartbreak they had experienced. I wanted to wrap them up in hugs and make everything all better.
There are twists in this story that I didn’t expect and it added so much more to this story. From the moment I opened this book, I was sucked in and the next thing I knew the day and the book were over. I loved everything about this story!!
*This is my voluntary review of an advanced reader copy*
OMG this book is so much fun. I don’t want to spoil anything for you so I’m going to keep this short and sweet.
The two main characters start out in a business relationship that slowly turns into something a bit more… all through texts/emails. They do not seen each other in person as their arrangement does not require it.
Each has their own reasons to not trust anyone and they have built their life around that reason..but slowly they begin to build a relationship that neither expected….and trust me, one word – actually one name will tip you off to what is actually going on and I DID NOT SEE IT…The synopsis sucked me in and well… yeah, that one name happened! lol You’ll totally understand my gibberish when you read the book!
Its such a beautiful story!! You will love the characters and you will fall in love so hard… !!! Bravo Claudia, bravo!!! (less)
There are just some authors that are an automatic one click and Claudia Burgoa is so one of those authors. She says this isn’t something I typically write and guess what that was a good thing! This book is so damn sweet and refreshing and I wanted to cry at times too. One all of those elements are spoken for you have an amazing read.
Maybe Later was not anything I expected at first I was like what is this. However, the book totally redeemed itself and then some. I absolutely loved Em and Jack.
Kudos for stepping out of your comfort zone and doing something different, it was perfect!
After reading a dark romance, a change of pace was in order, and Maybe Later by Claudia Burgoa was the book I didn’t know I need it.
Filled to the brim with swoony feelings and witty banter, Maybe Later is a total breath of fresh air you won’t be able to keep away from nor tear your eyes off of.
To read a new author is always a risk, but I’m glad I took this one because now I am pretty excited to read more from Claudia Burgoa. Do not miss out on this story that will make you fall in love with Burgoa’s writing one email at a time.
