She may be sin in a bridesmaid dress, but there’s no way he’s falling for her again. They can barely stand each other, but given how many of their friends are … given how many of their friends are getting married, they’ll just have to play nice-at least when they’re in company. Once they’re alone, more than just gloves come off as Jase and Emily discover their chemistry is combustible, and there may be something to this enemies to lovers thing after all…

“It was like all those little broken pieces inside her were falling back into place.”
Enemies to lovers, one of my favorites tropes. And written by Mira Lyn, it was bound to be good. Of course it is not only good, but awesome.
Jase and Emily have known each other for a very long time and there’s a lot of emotional baggage between them, ever since Jase lost her to his best friend back in the day. Even though they don’t get along, they keep being paired up in parties and weddings, meaning they’re forced to tolerate each other’s presence.
Yes, there’s obvious attraction on both sides, but their dislike for each other seems to be even stronger.
And then Jase comes to her rescue and curiosity takes the best of them – what if, just once, if it doesn’t mean anything, maybe they can see what all the fuss is about?
The chemistry between the two of them is off the charts, the sex scenes are hot (what else would you expect from Mira?) and the will they-won’t they kind of made me wonder if there was a HEA to this in the end.
Take a chance on this book. It shows you putting the past behind you and following what makes you happy can totally change your life.
Never say Never
Jase and Emily were friends in high school and she dated his best friend, but it ended badly. Jase blamed her. Now all of their friends were getting married and they seemed to always be put together. He has trust issues, she blames him for not helping her with his friend. Will they figure everything out in time to love.
The two main characters are well developed. They have a love-hate relationship going, and their thoughts are hilarious. Both want to one-up the other, but they can’t. They constantly battle as maid-of-honor and best man at countless weddings for their friends. Since they travel in the same circles, avoidance is futile. The writer did an excellent job of getting into the characters’ head.
Four and a half stars.
Jase Foster and Emily Klein have a lot of history, much of it… not good. They’ve known each other since high school, and mostly can’t stand each other now, but because their friend circles overlap quite a bit, they’ve been thrown together repeatedly as part of the bridal parties.
Really ended up enjoying this a lot–there was a lot more to the story than just an enemies-to-lovers with chemistry (which Ms Kelly does very well!), and Jase especially had a lot in his past to work through. Mira Lyn Kelly does a good job making Jase and Emily’s characters and emotions and thoughts feel real and compelling. I loved their friends, and the chemistry there is also warm and fun and funny. Their conversations make you feel one of the gang.
I definitely look forward to reading the rest of the series!
A very sweet, romantic, enemy turn lovers story. The way they didn’t know they fell in love with each was romantic. I just loved the relationship development. It was so well written that I was emotionally invested all the way to the end.
A fun, smart, and swoon-y page-turner! Everything you want in a contemporary romance.
A long time ago Jase Foster fell for a girl, but his best friend fell for the same girl, so he did the honorary thing and stepped aside, but when the relationship ended, and trouble ensued it put a huge damper on his thoughts about the Emily Klein. From that point on his impression of her changed, and a extreme dislike settled in, the problem is they tend to run in the same circles and continually get thrown together in social settings all the time, so he usually just grins and bares it. But now that their friends have decided to move onto the next step in their lives, they keep calling on both of them to share their special days with them, and because the two share similar heights, they often find themselves walking down the aisle alongside one another. Which makes his plan to just grin and bare it harder and harder with each trip they take, and harder for him to keep his feelings about the past to himself. But every time he decides to voice his opinions he gets blinded by her beauty and mile long legs and it has him wanting to forego his discussion with her, for a little time between the sheets…
Emily Klein fell for a Eddie a long time ago, and when things started to change between them because of his odd behavior she tried to get his family and friends to intervene and help him, but her requests were ignored. So when she couldn’t bare to stay in the relationship any longer she attempted to end things between them, and he took it hard and attempted to take their lives, and since then she has been blamed for his behavior and how things turned out. The brunt of the anger coming from his best friend Jase, and so she has always tried to avoid encounters with him, but they unfortunately run in the same social circles and constantly find themselves having to interact with one another, and Emily can’t stand it! Everything about Jase infuriates her, if he would have just listened to her, things in the past would have never happened, but he didn’t and she has never forgiven him for walking away from her. So, each time their near one another she has to bite her tongue… but before long her resistance to him becomes harder to maintain and soon she finds herself wanting things from him she never thought she want…
As soon as I saw the title for this book my interest was peaked, then I read the synopsis and I knew it was one I just HAD to read, and I am happy to report my initial instincts were spot on… it was a truly spectacular read!! I thoroughly enjoyed every minute I spent with these two, barely a chapter into it and I was hooked, and flying right through the pages on a quest to find what I hoped to be their well deserved happily ever after… and I found that and SO much more!!! This was my first experience with Ms. Kelly’s work, and I have to say that she totally won me over with her endearing characters, and unique story line, and turned me into a fan!! I highly recommend you meet these two wonderful characters, their charming story is destined to touch your heart and leave you with a smile on your face!!
Enjoyed as much as for the fact the love making is PG with emphasis on the petting and the desire. A good story..
Love it
Loved the characters! Book was entertaining funny and took me away for awhile which is always a good thing!
I totally couldn’t put this book down! I loved the snappy dialogue between the main characters. It was highly entertaining and I was sorry to get to the last page.
This book moved really slow and I would catch myself wondering why adults did not question high school choices?
