When Cheryl Anders’ parents left Plymouth Falls, she stayed behind, determined to prove to them that the town wasn’t dying. Over a decade later, she finally has her chance to show she was right. The Drakon family has committed to investing in the town with a massive project, and she’s going to oversee it all. The only problem? The distractingly attractive new liaison from the Drakon family has … decided to dramatically downsize everything.
Awoken from his sleep by accident, Victor Drakon is already in a foul mood. Told to take over from his brother, he forms a plan of revenge for a century-old wrong. His House and the people of Plymouth Falls will pay for the way they treated him. Things only get sweeter when he realizes the project manager for the town is a descendant of the woman who hurt him. This time, he’s going to see past her beauty, and get what he deserves!
It’s going to take a lot more than Cheryl’s good looks for him to change his mindset, and the determined town employee isn’t backing down anytime soon. The more they butt heads, the more sparks begin to fly, complicating the situation beyond what either of them is prepared for. It all comes to a head when Victor’s plan is exposed, and he must choose between his money and the woman who might be his mate—because the vampires have returned, and they don’t make a distinction between humans and dragons.

This spirited romance heats up the pages and leaves readers with dragon sized scorch marks. The chemistry between Victor and Cheryl burns hot and heavy throughout the story but the clashes between these two are even hotter, in fact the sparks flying between them approach volcanic and they threaten to erupt in heated passion at any given moment. The relationship is fiery and downright energetic and quite amusing at times.
The plot is fast paced, full of suspense and excitement as Victor and Cheryl try to out maneuver the other which really keeps readers glued to the pages but with some surprising, stomach flipping twists has Victor and Cheryl fighting a new enemy that could be bad news for the Drakon family. This High House story is a thoroughly entertaining and thrilling read with a bit of fun to liven it up even more.

Mated to the Water Dragon by Riley Storm is the second book in the High House of Drakon series. In this book, newly awakened water dragon shifter Victor Drakon is asked to work on a construction project with project manager Cheryl Anders. As soon as these two meet sparks fly and Victor is unable to put his nefarious plans into action because Cheryl is there to stop him. This book is a fast paced adventure filled with a spicy romance between two hard headed people. I couldn’t put it down. If your looking for a special shifter romance, then this book is for you. Mated to the Water Dragon is a spicy shifter romance.
Victor is accidentally woken up by Airic and Olivia and he is one unhappy dragon! He still feels all the shame, guilt, stubbornness and anger that was there a century ago and decides he will take back what is his, no matter the consequences. When Victor is put in charge of the Outreach Center and the funds that go along with that he decides to change the plans and take the remaining money and leave Plymouth Falls for good. His grand plan begins to go awry when he lays eyes on his contact at city hall. Cheryl doesn’t realize she looks exactly like her great grandmother, the witch who stole everything from Victor. Through the sizzling chemistry and open hostility they have to work together. Victor is holding onto a 1006 year old grudge and has an equally large chip on his shoulder, but when Cheryl’s life is put in danger and Airic’s warnings come true he realizes what she really means to him. I love the continuing story line and how this book sets up the next one so well! Loved it!!!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Well, the Vampires are back, that much Victor now has realized after he and his mate have been attacked at the construction site.
I’ve to admit I’m a little disturbed about his name – I would have guessed his name started with an “A”. Anyway, the end of the story seems a little rushed – so you never get to know how the meeting with Cheryl’s parents went and more important – how the next Dragon is to be awoken… Nevertheless it’s a amazing story and the improvent of Victors character itself – from hating Cheryl to loving her and overcoming his mistrust against humanity and everything beyond.
great read
