Oh my, this is the best! Janus is known as a journalist that is a bit out there, maybe with a screw or two loose. After she is fired for an article about vampires being real, she finds herself with no options. At the comic book store she is selling her collectibles at, she comes face to face with Bane Bloods. Garrus is following the Bane Bloods from the forest into the city hoping to prevent more human deaths. Janus is amazed, but not terrified. In fact, she’s the one that notices the mate mark on Garrus. This girl is hilarious! The whole story of the Silverbloods, Bane Bloods and The Prophecy are her favorite comic books. She is unafraid and not surprised over anything. She has so much interest and excitement in their world. She trains as a warrior and becomes close with everyone. This book kept me laughing my tail off. Janus is such a breath of fresh air. She even captivates Dom Zul. She and Garrus still have their issues and a near death experience is eye opening for them all. She even brings a touch of humanity to Aiden. I love that she is not afraid of him and he respects her enough to listen to her. I requested an advanced reader copy from Booksprout and am under no obligation to leave this review.

Janus is a journalist and when her boss doesn’t like her latest story she loses her job. She goes to take her collectibles to the comic book shop to see what cash she could get for it when she runs into some Bane Bloods. They don’t like her interest or knowledge about them and are just about to deal with her when Garrus shows up. Garrus is Delta of the Silverblood pack and is stunned when he sees the mate mark on Janus. Sparks fly between them but before they can say anything to one another a fight breaks out and they are fighting for their lives. They barely escape the shop and a batch of cops before Garrus collapses. Janus uses his phone to get in touch with his pack and when they arrive she isn’t what they expected. Especially with her knowledge on both packs once Garrus is healed he lets his brother know what Janus is to him. They end up back at his homeland but when Garrus rejects Janus once too much she leaves the safety of his place to go back home. When Garrus’s enemies attack her she is about to die just as Garrus and his brother find her. Will they be able to save her? Can she forgive Garrus for turning away from her?
This is an amazing story and series. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to anyone.

Mated by Garrus by Haley Weir is the second book in the Carnal Creek Shifters Series. In this book, a woman named Janus is fired from her job as a reporter for writing a story about vampires then walked into a comic book store to be confronted by a group of werewolves. This story is an exciting adventure with lots of twists and turns. This story was a fun read with a unique set of characters that I thoroughly enjoyed. I especially liked the fact that the forever mate in this story is a bold nerd who is good at getting her own way. Mated by Garrus is a unusual shifter romance.
Mystery, adventure. This second book is as good as the first in the series. Janus believes in the supernatural and is a journalist. Garrus knows she is his mate, but also the enemy. What will happen? Can they come together or not? Will she do if she finds out she is right?

This is another powerful book in the “Carnal Creek Shifters” series. The storyline is well-developed, emotionally deep, and well written. There are twists, suspense, danger, witty banter, humour, and fighting; I laughed throughout the entire book. This book took me on one nail-biting adventure that kept me captivated until the end. Janus and Garrus are loveable and strong-willed characters with amazingly hot and steamy chemistry between them. Looking forward to the next book in this addictive series.

While growing up Janus read comic books and believed in the paranormal. Never realizing that her job as a journalist and writing an article about vampires being real and getting fired for that article would change her life forever. Garrus is a hunter and is tracking the Bane Bloods in the city when he finds Janus and discovers she is his fated mate. Loved the way the author brought Janus and Garrus together and how he shifted in front of her. Janus and Garrus’s story is filled with mystery, action, suspense, humor, romance and so much more. I look forward to reading the next book in the Carnal Creek Shifters series.

If you want to shadow the truth, hide it in a book? Janus wrote about vampires hiding in plain site among rich and famous. The story got her fired. Garrus of Silverblood pack, followed Bane Bloods, who hunt humans into the city. Garrus recognizes his mate mark on Janus’ wrist. He reacts, the Bane Bloods sense a weakness and attack Janus and the other humans in the comic book store where Janus went to sell her collectible comic books. Anyone think it odd, Janus gets her information from comic books? Anyone think it odd Janus knows more about supernatural than Garrus? What follows is a battle, a good defense, injuries, questions and the beginning of a crucial relationship. What do the Bane Bloods do? Does Garrus escape? Does Janus really believe? Totaly awesome story. Good series addition. Well done. I received an ARC from Booksprout for a review.
