A Contemporary Christian RomanceShe only wanted to survive her coffee date . . .Ellie Parker had a date set up through an online Christian dating site. Shouldn’t be too bad, right? Except Ellie believed she was a walking disaster. After twenty-three set-ups, she’d never been asked out a second time. Meeting the new guy for coffee might be promising—if only she could pronounce his name right. Then … only she could pronounce his name right. Then enters Noah Donovan– devastatingly handsome and completely unattainable. Too bad he wasn’t her date.
When Ellie spills coffee all over Noah’s shirt, she’s mortified to say the least. The guy she was supposed to meet hadn’t even arrived yet, and she’d already created havoc.
Noah had a reputation for being a matchmaker, even though his last relationship was a complete failure. He couldn’t take his eyes off the frantic redhead wearing the ugliest gold shawl he’d ever seen. Not only did she fumble her date, she practically ran the guy off. That’s when Noah stepped in and offered his services as a dating coach.
But what happens when the coach falls for the student? Will he be able to risk love again? And what if the student has insecurities that threaten a wall between them?
Can Noah convince Ellie that love is worth fighting for?

I REALLY liked the message in this story.
I can’t recommend this one enough!
This the second book in a series but can be read a story a stand alone. This was a beautiful clean inspirational story that touched my heart. I loved that Noah saw Ellie’s worth and helped her to see her value. The characters are very like able and realistic. You will not be disappointed.
Another clean, Christian life and romance story by Evangeline. Enjoyed this even more than the first in the series, and am anxiously awaiting a third, as the author has so obviously set us (the readers) up for. A nice, quick read, and the characters are adorable. The men are who so many of us are looking for, dreaming about, and as children of God, know that He has in store for us.
This is a sweet, funny and clean Christian-based romance. Ellie is clumsy, has no self-confidence, and likes crazy, colorful, retro clothing. She meets Noah, a kind and gorgeous hunk of a guy, when she spills iced coffee all over him in a coffee shop. He decides she needs a dating coach (him) and off we go!
This story is about a guy who likes someone and pretends to match her up while denying the feelings that he actually has for her. It’s funny and witty and everyone calls him on his stupidity. Unfortunately, I like men who are self aware of who they are.

Book 2 in the ‘Santa Clarita Love Stories,’ follows book 1: Shaken.
We were introduced to Noah Donovan in book one when his sister Olivia ‘Liv’ Donovan moved into the apartment next to his. He is drop dead gorgeous and women shamelessly ogle him and practically fall at his feet. It is something he has experienced all his life and he hardly notices them anymore. Until, that is… when Ellie Parker turned and spilled her iced coffee on his shirt.
“To find a prince, you gotta kiss some toads.” Foxy Brown
Noah watched as this poor girl was having a disastrous date. Known for his matchmaking skills, Noah decided he would be her dating coach and help her improve her dating skills. The tide quickly turned as the coach suddenly no longer wanted to coach her, but to date her himself. We had the usual misunderstandings and minimal angst as our couple worked out their problems. This was a delightful, clean, quick read that left the reader with a feel good HEA.
“An important part of dating is communicating. We communicate by sharing our thoughts, ideas, and feelings. We enjoy being with someone when we have an easy time communicating or when we have a lot to talk about.” John Bytheway
Since this was a faith-based story… there were Christian principles of faith discussed, scriptures referenced and a testimony with different character’s sharing their conversion story with each other. This was not done in a preachy manner. Nor did the author attempt to make church people perfect. The ‘mean girl’ incident only proved that church people can be just as jealous and vindictive as anyone else. The only difference is… that church people are more accountable and that there is redemption and forgiveness within the body of Christ.
I loved the fellowship between these characters. From book one we had the courtship between Liv and Jax. In this book we have the budding relationship between Noah and Ellie. In the midst of this story we were introduced to characters Ryan and Andrea. I hope there is a book three. I want to see Liv have her wedding. I also want to see what happens with Ellie and Noah and his special project. Most of all… I really want to see if Ryan and Andrea ever meet and/or get together. I really liked them. Come on… you can’t introduce characters and just leave them hanging. I really enjoyed this story.
Problems: there were formatting problems where there was a space betwe en words. Also, the use of blindsighted vs blindsided. No one was blind in this story and blindsighted is when a blind person is able to sense a light source.
This book was a free offer from the author when I signed up for her newsletter with no expectations of a review. This is my honest opinion.
Faith Filled Romance
This is a nice, faith filled romance. The main story is how faith, family and friends help us get through and past bullying. This looks at a different aspect of bullying – a side that I think affects more people. This is the bullying that is also called ‘Peer Pressure’ – look and act like me or I’ll make fun of you until you do. It is a good and entertaining story. This book is part of a 2-part series and stands alone quite well! I have read other works by this author and all are quality pieces. I will be reading everything that I come across by this author! I received this book at no cost and voluntarily chose to post my review.
