Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander’s face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows with complete certainty that he is her ideal mate . . . until she sees Ky Markham’s face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black. The Society tells her it’s a glitch, a rare malfunction, … malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she’s destined to lead with Xander. But Cassia can’t stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society’s infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she’s known and a path that no one else has dared to follow.
Look for CROSSED, the sequel to MATCHED, in Fall 2011!

The first book in a series, this is also the best written of the lot. A dystopian YA novel, the characters can be a little wooden at times, but an entertaining book regardless.
I am a hopeless romantic and this one really pulled at my heart strings!
I loved this book. I couldn’t put it down!!!
I am very picky with Young Adult dystopian fantasies but I was very impressed by this book. It was engaging albeit a bit predictable but without the cliche of “who do I choose” as with the Twilight saga for example. The world created by Ally Condie is fascinating regarding the unwavering need to stay young and how technology forever impacts the choices or lack there of that one makes.
What’s the difference between fate/coincidence and how much free will do we really have? I highly recommend this book as a stand alone novel. Although there are 2 others following this one, I wasn’t as impressed as with first. Hope you give it a chance because it is worth the read, enjoy!
easy to read, but nowhere near as well written as Hunger Games, and certainly not as good as the hype
This is a great series. Loved the characters. Author did a great job of making us care about them. One caveat, reader will need to read the whole series. That’s fine.
One of the best series I’ve ever read.
Loved it. Don’t read the rest of the trilogy just leave it at this book.
I enjoyed this book. One of my friends recommended it to me, and I fell in love. I do have other friends who say it is not a good book, too boring, but I enjoyed and would recommend.
At first I didn’t know what to think. The future as we know it today could turn out as thus book is written. Though not the typical books I usually read this one was defiantly different. Once I got into the book the reality this book built I could imagine the hole setup. My imagination just took over and allowed me a better view of the characters.
Having two matches in your life and one not allow to be a part of the society that you live in? You have to read this book.
In the end I couldn’t put the book down I needed to know how it ended for them.
This is a truly great book. I have read it, as well as the other two, and I love them all. The way that Ally Condie builds onto the fictional world is great, and I recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a good read with a romantic twist.
The writing was good, the genre is not my favorite so after reading a few other trilogies in this genre this one just seemed repetitive which I don’t mind in other genres.
It’s a really great book. The book taught me that things aren’t as they seem to be. Once you read it you want more of it and want read the sequels.
Good dystopian
I’m still not completely sure how I feel about this book. I can understand why I never felt tempted to pick this book up. Don’t get me wrong I did enjoy it.
I found this world to be interesting. The matching system and how everyone picked jobs and did everything the society said. The part that fell flat for me was the very small rebellious part of Cassia. I felt it wasn’t enough for me. She wanted to follow the rules so bad and she most often did than didn’t and passed judgments on others who didn’t. At the same time she was falling in love with someone she shouldn’t.
I loved the relationship forming between Cassia and Ky. At the same time that I loved the relationship I didn’t realize that was most of the story, them falling in love.
I’m not sure if I will continue this series. Maybe at a later time I’ll pick up the second book just to be what will happen.
i really liked it and every thing about it
i love this book so much i want to read the next one and the next one please dont make them stop
Romantic
The characters were awful and the world was poorly created.
The backstory was a bit weak. Story itself was great
