Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander’s face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows with complete certainty that he is her ideal mate . . . until she sees Ky Markham’s face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black. The Society tells her it’s a glitch, a rare malfunction, … malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she’s destined to lead with Xander. But Cassia can’t stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society’s infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she’s known and a path that no one else has dared to follow.
Look for CROSSED, the sequel to MATCHED, in Fall 2011!

It’s a slow start but it’s really good toward the ending!
When I first read the reviews, I was expecting something along the lines of Divergent. However, the book was very slow. I realize it’s a trilogy, and the author needs to provide background, but I kept waiting for the action to start, and it never really did. I guess there was enough of a cliff hanger to have me reaching for the 2nd book, which I’m half way through with, but am not really interested in finishing the series. Cassia seems a bit slow to piece together what is happening around her, which is frustrating, especially when other characters, Ky and Xander, for example, seem to have it figured out already.
Too similar to other futuristic books, like The Giver.
Meh.
This series was boring. The characters were flat and there was not very much world building.
i liked that the world in utopian and that this could never happen in real life. but the fact that i thought what if our world was sorted like this. i usaully dont like romance but i honestly love this book.
A good series
One of my favorite books (series). Hard to put down!
The story itself was interesting but I just couldn’t connect with the characters.
I loved this book. First of all, I like how it doesn’t start out being so blatantly “evil” or “wrong” as other dystopian societies. At first you’re thinking, oh that’s not so bad. And the more you read the more you realize just how messed up this society is! That made the reading a lot different from other dystopian novels I’ve read so far. The amount of control enforced upon the people is portrayed to be helping them and you almost believe it. The “love triangle” in this book is way different from what I’ve read as well, especially in other dystopian books. We’ve seen societies meddle in relationships in other stories, but not to this degree. I’m anxious to move on to book two and see what awaits Cassia, Ky and even Xander!
Wonderful word use and language that just pulled you into the story.
This is slow paced so if you like fast paced books this isn’t for you. A great dystopian.
Entertaining.
I really enjoyed the Match series. I felt like it was a cross between Hunger Games and the Divergent series. Really easy reads. You can’t wait to get the next book to find out what happens.
A very good book I couldn’t put it down!!!
Connie writes prose like a poet. This is a beautiful series that gets better with each book. Very complex and layered.
Matched is a great book for all readers. It is an interesting spin on forbidden love and creates a love triangle that leaves readers on the edge of their seats for the whole book.
My favorite of the series.
Interesting concept for a dystopian novel.
