They captured her. They punished her. Now they will master her.First the Vakarrans took my home. Then they took my sister. Now, they have taken me.As a prisoner of four of their fiercest warriors, I know what fate awaits me. Humans who dare to fight back the way I did are not just punished, they are taught their place in ways so shameful I shudder to think about them. The four huge, intimidating … them.
The four huge, intimidating alien brutes who took me captive are going to claim me in every way possible, using me more thoroughly than I can imagine. I despise them, yet as they force one savage, shattering climax after another from my naked, quivering body, I cannot help but wonder if soon I will beg for them to master me completely.
Publisher’s Note: Mastered is a stand-alone novel which is the second book in the Vakarran Captives series. It includes spankings, sexual scenes, intense and humiliating punishments, and strong D/s themes. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

Taking the lead
With each book I fall more in love with these sisters! I love how they are so strong and supportive of each other, and how it takes an equally strong group of males to tame them. This book really threw me for a loop because it seemed like a HEA was not meant to be. But then the author added a thrilling rescue and ending to the story that I had to read it again to make sure I didn’t miss anything important. This book is a fantastic weekend read, and I am looking forward to reading about the rest of the sisters.
Fun and Hot! I am loving the alien/human vibe that this series gives and all the characters we are introduced to. Such a fun series!
Vakarran Captives Book Two.
Now that her sister has been missing for two weeks, Aliana Stryke knows she must venture out to Kira’s lookout station to see what happened. Aliana is dismayed to find that Kira was taken by the Vakarrans. When the alarms begin to go off, showing that a lone Vakarran is wandering towards a pit trap, Aliana decides to capture him and force him to tell her where Kira is. After Davon is trapped in the pit, Aliana threatens him with her gun, only to find herself the captive of Davon’s three compatriots, Ryder, Morgn and Aarom. She is offered a hope at escape when a woman sneaks onto the Vakarran ship to give her a message, but can Aliana trust her any more than she can trust these aliens?
If you’ve been waiting for Aliana’s story, this is the book you’ve been hoping for.

This is the second book in the Vakarran Captives Series. You should read the Publisher’s Note before listening to this Sci-Fi Aliens Dark Romance. The story includes dark scenes, and D/s scenes. Mastered is a great addition to the Series. The story can be listened as a standalone, but for a better understanding you should listen to the first book in the Series before. This Sci-Fi/Aliens Dark Romance, and Reverse Harem is captivating, suspenseful, and really hot! Alaina’s Story is as great as Kira’s Story. Her Alien captors, Ryder, Morgan, Aarom and Davon, are strong, dominant, and handsome! Heather Firth did an amazing and an outstanding job with the narration! She has a beautiful voice, and a great male voice! This Series is definitely out of my comfort zone for the dark scenes, but I like it! Now, I can’t wait for the next books in the Series.
They invaded her homeland, then they invaded her bed. She fought, resisted the four men who she said she despised, but soon her resistance began to crumble and then it shattered, and she was putty in their hands, they all stole her heart.
Heather Firth was amazing in her telling of Alayna and her four Vakarrans.

Audiobook version:
This series was my first by Sara Fields. I absolutely loved it!! She has a great blend of Dark and Steamy. It takes you to the edge, pushes your boundaries and leaves you feeling very satisfied. I personally love PNR and was hoping I would enjoy the alien aspect- rest assured, I did! I would LOVE to read more by Sara! I plan to explore her other works. I enjoyed the characters, the chemistry, and the story found in these pages. It was a great read!
Narration- Heather Firth’s voice was perfect for this! I love the quality! She has a wonderful talent for giving you a deep, masculine male voice and still providing a wonderful female voice as well. Most are great at one but not the other. I thought both voices were great and matched the characters well. Highly enjoyable, clean editing and clear narration.

Mastered
A Dark Sci-Fi Reverse Harem Romance (Vakarran Captives)
By: Sara Fields
Narrated by: Heather Firth
Sara Fields creates this imaginative universe she where the Earth has been invaded by the Vakarrans, aliens from outer space. The Vakarrans are a male only species and they’ve come to Earth to capture and enslave females to mate & breed with. In book one, Conquered, Kira was captured when she was out by herself. The second book, Mastered, Alaina, Kira sister, sets out to find out what happened to Kira by traveling to her last known location where she had surveillance equipment set up. Alaina checks the video feed and finds out Kira was indeed captured. She also sees one of the Vakarrans fall in to one of their traps, since he is not on his own it leads to her own capture by the Vakarrans. Another team of four Alpha Vakarrans, Ryder, Morgn, Aarom and Davon. I enjoyed the storylines, they were past paced and action packed. There was also drama, twists and some steamy hot RH BDSM. While this can be read & enjoyed on its own, I recommend reading or listening to Conquered first. Doing so will give you more insight and a deeper understanding the world dynamics Sara Fields masterfully created. Thank you for another enjoyable & entertaining story.
I listened to the Audible edition, Heather Firth is a fabulous narrator & storyteller. She performs the voices of all the characters, switches vocals effortlessly and tells the story in a perfect flow with he right amount of dramatic flair. Thank you for another great & entertaining listen!
Thank you AudiobookObsession
Oh, boy, I love reverse harem books, but when they’re steeped in paranormal plots with alien hunks? Well, it doesn’t get any better, Mastered was a joy to read and I have plans to read many more of this author’s books. Wowsers…

A Dark Sci-Fi Reverse Harem Romance (Vakarran Captives)
By: Sara Fields Romance
Narrated by: Heather Firth, Audiobook Narrator
Sara Fields takes me completely out of my comfort zone and I think that is why I enjoy these dark, reverse harems! Alaina is setting out to find her sister who has been kidnapped by the Vakarran. Now she too is captured by 4 Vakarran, and finds out they are nothing like what she expects. These 4 men start her training right away, and the 5 of them fall in love. Protecting Alaina at all costs, these 4 men are willing to give their lives, but will they have to? Does Alaina find her sister? This is a hot, passionate story, full of stereotypes, they all have to get past what they perceive to be true and find their reality. I loved the chemistry, and especially the different personalities of each Vakarran. With the different traits, it’s easy to see how Alaina falls for them and can understand what happened to her sister. The question now is what will happen next? Looking forward to book 3!
Heather Firth does a fabulous job with the narration of this erotic sci fi story! I love that she has a different male voice for each Vakarran and it’s easy to tell which on it is. With so many POV’s that could be difficult, but she flows through the performance with ease. It’s rich, emotional, hot and an all around great listen! Can’t ask for a better portrayal!

Alaina Stryke feels lost and alone since her big sister Kira’s disappearance. Continuing to keep their small band of humans, as well as thier younger sisters, safe from the Vaakarians, she is surprised when a band of Vaakarian warriors claim her for their own. When her existence forces them to go rogue to keep her safe from their commander, it’s a band of cruel human rebels that threaten her well being. I wanted to kill people myself. And I’m still waiting for my own band of warriors!
First let me state, I received an Advance Reader Copy, (ARC), but this in no way influences my review. I always leave an honest review. Also, this is a new author to me, and it won’t be my last.
Wow this read is like 50 shades of aliens. I really enjoyed this story. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up.
A great story that will hook you with its attention to detail. This story will hold your interest to the end! Alaina takes over the leadership role when her older sister gets caught by the alien invaders. There are a lot of emotional and expositional components at the beginning and it drags a little, but then it totally picks up. The story moves steadily, you think Alaina will catch a break, but then, no, not so much. There are some really heavy, dark parts during her training, the thing with Morgn and the hook thingy was mind boggling to my imagination, like, what was that thing anyway? Then the story twists again and she screws things up and puts herself in danger. The story is intense and full of hot sexual scenes but also emotional bonding. I didn’t like how the ending had a few loose ends. Like, what happened to Nina and the girls? and the ending was kind of abrupt, but all in all, it was a really good component in this series and I hope there will be more to follow!
This intense second installment will sail your mind to the furtherest galaxy!! Alaina despised the Vakkarrans and all they stood for. She was determined not to fall prey to them and be captured until she met four virile Vakkarrans that left her full of fear and breathlessness. She had no intent of surrendering. Nor being mastered! These strong intense aliens proved to be daunting and persausively seductive. The four strong Vakkarrans were sent on a mission to dominate and take over Earth. Claiming the female populus but they didn’t expect Alaina Stryke. Strong. Beautiful. Defaint. Unbreakable. The five were swept away by each other and the fight over mind and will began. During the tumultuous journey they never expected hearts to race and emotions to spill free. A hot decadent must read story of beautiful dark matters of desirous seductions and strong rule. A true soul and body shattering tale.
Vakarran Captives, Book 2. Deliciously dark and decadent, Sara Fields is at the top of her game!
The war between the Vakarrans and Earth ended almost before it began. For ten long years, Kira Stryke, her sisters, and their little band of rebels subsisted on the edge of what’s left of Earth’s civilization. But now Kira’s gone. Where? Why? How? As her sister, Alaina, struggles to fill Kira’s shoes, her brain whirls with questions. Could the Vakarrans have captured Kira? The days creep into weeks. Suddenly Alaina remembers Kira’s security base. Armed with cameras, tech, and all types of devious traps, something there’s bound to point her in Kira’s direction, right? But what she finds isn’t what she expects. She may have gotten the drop on young Davon. But the tables are soon turned when Ryder, Morgn, and Aarom, three more Vakarrans, show up. Soon Alaina’s naked, bound, and on her way to…where exactly? Her captors are definitely Vakarran but even they don’t seem quite sure what to do with her. And, despite everything she’s seen and heard, Alaina’s knowledge of the Vakarrans is somehow…lacking. The Vakarrans are, yet aren’t, what she’s been told. She’s so confused! And she’s not alone! As events twist and turn, a fledgling trust emerges. But unknown players and hidden agendas lurk around every corner. Just as Alaina thinks she has it all figured out, she realizes she knows absolutely nothing. Ryder, Aarom, Morgn, and Davon are the enemy, right? Or is this all a bizarre nightmare world she’s been flung into? As Alaina’s body and heart are virtually torn apart by conflicting desires, treachery and cruelty cause her world to come crashing down around her. Will she survive? Is it even worth it to try? In the end, can anyone, Vakarran or human, ever be trusted again?
This book was nothing like what I expected. I thought I had everything figured out before I got through the first chapter. I should know by now never to do that with any book, especially one written by Sara Fields! This book blew me away! These characters are superb, so multi-faceted and complex. Their roles are constantly changing. Alaina initially appears as a carbon copy of her sister, Kira. But it’s soon evident that Alaina is light years from Kira (and not in distance). She’s her own woman with deep wells of strength, and resolve. She won’t go quietly or willingly. Yet there’s something deeply hidden inside that even Alaina doesn’t understand. The Vakarrans are a unit so unique they defy description. Ryder is the leader, clever, wily. So is he a protector or Alaina’s worst enemy…or both? Aarom seems kind, understanding. Is he? Davon could be the team’s biggest weakness, or is that their hidden strength? And Morgn? Does anyone, even Morgn, know who or what drives him? These characters alone make reading this book a must. But it’s the story, Ms. Fields’ beautiful words, her captivating twists, turns, somersaults, and roller coaster of emotions, intricately woven with these wonderful characters, that puts Mastered head and shoulders above the rest. I’m obviously not a writer. If I was, I could tell you exactly how this book made me feel. Instead, all I can say is you HAVE to read this book. In my opinion, Sara Fields is, quite simply, a genius. This is her best work yet! Congratulations, Ms. Fields! Mastered deserves every star in the universe!
A final note. This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language, intense punishment, and dominant/submissive sexual scenes. If you don’t enjoy this genre, this may not be the book for you. There are book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads and Amazon. Use these resources. DON’T LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WON’T ENJOY THE BOOK. It’s not fair to the author. She works hard to provide a quality work product. If you know you’ll object to a book’s subject matter before you buy it, you’re doing yourself and the author an extreme disservice.
Thanks for reading my review and happy reading!
Awesome read I love the connection between the couple’s the love scene are smoking hot. I really love the story plot flowed well easy read.
“I’d found love in the place I’d never expected it.”
I love this quote by Alaina Stryke. Davon, Ryder, Morgn, and Aarom are the perfect Vakarran mates for our herione. Alaina is tough and strong. Her only weakness is her men.
I couldn’t get enough of this enemies to lovers story. Alaina, in her own time and way, submitted to the men she loved. The men came to care, want, and possess the woman they loved. This book was hot with lots of action, but what I truly loved was the emotional entanglements. The “whys” and “hows” of Alaina falling for her men and them for her. Ultimately, that is what I really liked about Mastered. Sara Fields did a beautiful job riding the line between developing feelings and sexual attraction.
Off I go and back to a world that I don’t want to live in, but maybe I can visit some Vakarrans for a little while? Just a day or two? Sara Fields writes this kind of alien scifi RH stuff so well. I’m pretty sure that we should just give her a crown for it. I always look forward to what she’s come up with next.
So, Alaina Stryke is currently leading the free band of humans that she and all her sisters have formed. After her older sister went missing, Alaina knew that something had happened, and she decided to go find out. She left her younger sisters in charge of their brave little band and snuck off to the command center. There she was able to set a trap for a Vakarran so that she could question him as to where her sister was. The only problem is that Davon, the youngest member on the second battalion team, managed to turn the tables on her and get his teammates Ryder, Morgn, and Aarom to capture her and let him free.
I like Alaina. She keeps trying to measure herself up to her sister, but she is really impressive in her own right. She’s a fierce warrior and has had to be. I am just so impressed with her and her guts. I also liked her men, especially how each of them were so different and handled her differently.
A feisty human female, Alaina, heads out to find her sister, who disappeared while protecting their family from Vakarran Aliens. While on her solo mission, Alaina first captures her own Alien, and then is herself captured and claimed by four Vakarran Warriors. On their planet, human females are used as slaves and breeders. Alaina is not prepared to become either.
In order to force her obedience and submission, Ryder, Morgn, Aarom and Davon, punish her sternly in a very intimate manner. Alaina responds with defiance, humiliation and burgeoning excitement. Her body and her mind are at war. Her intellect says fight, but her body does not! Alaina has been taught to hate Aliens, but must she? She finds it challenging to hate these four handsome, muscular, exciting, dominant alpha males who actually punish in order to protect. Alaina described one of the intense punishments, administered by Morgn as “painful, pleasurable, and so wrong” yet, she loved it and so did I.
I found this story to be full of love and hate, conflict and resolution, capture and rescue, sex and then more hot, steamy, alien sex. It is absolutely, unequivocally, beautifully filthy.
An overall theme of this series is the colonizer and the colonized. The colonizers (Vakaraans) see themselves as superior – superior in strength, intellect, technology – to those they are colonizing (humans). As with real-life colonization, the Vakaraans use this as justification for their atrocities. (And the sass in me just wants to go up to one and say “if you’re so superior, why doesn’t your species have any ladies? Superior my foot!”) They demand women be submissive and used for their reproductive purposes, and men used to make booze.
Again, this echoes the theme of colonialism with the colonizer exploiting labor and resources of the colonized, and sexually objectifying the women. But there is also the spark of hope within the varying factions that always arise during colonization: resistance fighters who do good, resistance fighters who take advantage of their own people, and the colonizer and the colonized becoming equals.
Alaina Stryker, the up until now unknown sister of the infamous Kyra Stryker has filled in as the leadership of their band of hidden rebels after Kyra’s absence. She’s clever and sassy, and has done all she can to help their band survive and maintain their culture and humanity. When she’s cornered by three Vakaraans, the only way to protect her people and her life is to go with them. Oddly enough, she’s strangely attracted to them, despite her fighting her feelings.
This book is not for everyone, in fact, it’s probably not for most, due to the violent scenes (some sexual, others not). I’m able to find fun in a story like this with all the sassy comebacks I would have for these guys. When one of the Vakaraans muses that he’s never seen a human risk themselves to help another, I can’t help but think “well, look what you’ve done to them, assface!” The sass and the banter between the characters is wonderfully engrossing.
Though there is harsh treatment of Alaina by the three Vakaraans, we see their internal thoughts are caring. They even verbally express to her that she has to put on the act of being submissive so they can protect her from the higher ups who will likely torture her and leave her for dead. They further endear themselves to her when she witnesses the brutal mistreatment of another human, and they intervene on her behalf, and in a way that protects her and does not look suspicious. Personally though, I did have a hard time liking Morgn. Practically drowning someone is not a good way to make a point. Definitely a character you love being angry with.
This ending is wonderful, and shows even more promise than the previous book. While Kyra’s Vakaraan crew is subtly subversive to the cruel Vakaraans, Alaina’s three show and even greater subversiveness – giving the reader the idea that there is hope for a mutual partnership.
I absolutely love this book and this series!! Hot and steamy, once the training start, and Alaina is almost captured immediately versus having her trained. She goes out to trace her sisters footsteps knowing it can be a real possibility of getting captured by the Vakarran. She is captured also and she just wants to protect her two remaining “free” sisters and all of the people that have banded together to be “free”. Along the way Alaina falls in love with her 4 Vakarran. Will she get her happy ending like her sister Kira? Will the other two sisters and their band of rebels be captured?
