Meet the Devil of Blackthorne Manor …
When I was a little girl, I dreamed a handsome knight would come and rescue me from my wretched mother. He’d ride up on his white steed and break the curse I’ve been fated to carry since the day I was born.
Funny how things changed over time. How the fairy tale twisted into something far more crooked, darker than I ever imagined.
In reality, my knight is … imagined.
In reality, my knight is scarred and broken, living alone in a castle of bones that overlooks the sea. He isn’t searching for me. He never was.
Lucian Blackthorne is as cursed as I am, and equally shunned by the locals, the fishers of men, who believe him to be the devil in the flesh.
Perhaps he is, with the way his amber eyes draw me in, ignite me like an infernal blaze. And the sins he whispers in my ear are as wickedly intoxicating as the man himself.
Yet, his touch is heaven and his will is my weakness.
He calls us forbidden, an unsalvageable tragedy, with no happy end. Maybe we are. But in this story, he’s the one who needs saving.
Master of Salt & Bones is a dark modern gothic contemporary standalone romance.

Isadora Quinn is traveling to Blackstone Manor or as the locals named it, Bonesalt, to care for the owners mother. To bad no one told her the true horrors that lie within the walls. Lucian Blackstone is a dark and devious man & heir to Blackstone Manor. Told between the past and the present, what secrets are held within the Blackstone name. A twisted and dark romantic suspense you won’t soon forget! Such atrocities have happened my heart breaks for Lucian and Isadora. I can’t say much more as I do not want to spoil this book but if you love very dark, depraved, romances with twists you won’t see coming then you’ll enjoy this book. Can this beauty awaken the beast of Blackstone Manor? There are some scenes with difficult topics and triggers for some so be warned. This is a long book and I felt in spots it did drag for me until I got more into the storyline around 30% then I really enjoyed this tragic and dark journey. I also loved the connection between Isadora and Lucian. Told in dual POV
FanFreakingTastic!!!
An absolutely incredible book!
From the originality of it,it’s characters and all the way through to the plot. OMG
Ms. Lake brings to life one beautifully twisted story.
The details described and given are vivid enough to have my mind seeing what I’m reading.
Everything came to life for me.
The castle, those living in it,the inhabitants of the village and most especially Lucian and Isa.
Not everything is as it seems in this little fishing village.
Where gossip runs rapid and rumors spread like wild fire.
Where being different gets you branded and being treated as an outcast.
Having had enough of the horribleness of the villagers Isa decides to leave.
She needs a good paying job to save enough and start fresh somewhere else.
The only place that can do that for her is accepting a job at the castle.
Lucian may be master of the castle but he mostly keeps to himself.
He also never ventures into the village.
He’s a recluse and only ventures out when absolutely necessary.
When he and his new employee literally run into each other in the castle he is immediately intrigued by her.
She is the first woman not to flinch when she lays eyes on him and that takes him by surprise.
After bumping into Lucian Isa finds him fascinating abet somewhat intimidating.
But she doesn’t let that stop her from being herself with him.
She shows no fear and gives as good as she gets verbally.
Her sassiness and feistiness is something Lucian has never experienced.
These two try to unravel and uncover what’s hidden in the depth of each other.
Because sometimes pretty things have ugly thorns.
And sometimes among the unwanted weeds there is something pretty waiting to shine.
I loved Lucian and Isa.
I loved her for her inner strength and her courage.
I admired how she didn’t let unsubstantiated stories effect her.
But she judged people on what she actually witnessed of their actions.
And Lucian wow what a complex man he is.
There is no way to decipher him unless he wants you too.
I promise you you will never figure out or predict the mystery that is Lucian.
Ms. Lake slowly and methodically takes the reader on a spellbinding wild ride.
Where the secrets that will be unveiled will have you screeching.
And when all the pieces of the puzzle come together will leave you breathless.
I found this book very original and unique for me that in it of itself deserves five stars.
The characters are utterly fascinating another five stars.
And the plot and storyline are shocking so another five stars for that.
Yeah for me this book is so much more than a measly five stars.
The story had me on the edge of my seat.
It had my heart pounding so hard.
And by the end left me stunned!
One of the best most unforgettable books I’ve read!
What I loved about this story was the haunting dark the setting of book, a remote castle on the cliffs and the music which accompanied the setting. It gives you a Phantom of the Opera type feel. Keri always comes through with the troubled, alpha, dark hero.
Ok now let’s get into what I didn’t like about this book. I didn’t feel the connection/ chemistry between Lucian and Isadora (I love that name btw). Honestly, I disliked Isa from the very beginning and no matter what she did or what her background was I could not bring myself to like this character. The past/present chapters didn’t flow well for me either and the book was way too lengthy and at times too descriptive.
There were a few lines from the book that stuck with me like this one:
“Together, we are madness. And there is music in madness, and madness in love.”
Although I didn’t enjoy MoS&B as much I thought I would, it just didn’t work for me. This will definitely not discourage me from reading more by this author because I do enjoy her work immensely.
10 BLAZING MINDBLOWING STARS!!! This book has wrecked me for all others. Not only was it my first book by this very talented Author, but it was my first time being so consumed with a story, that everything else ceased to exist. The depths of this story, the underground darkness that seeps into you as you read it, turning white hot with desire…OUTSTANDING. By far, one amazingly epic story.
