Disavowed by those he swore to protect…Tennessee Smith is a wanted man. Betrayed by his government and hunted by his former employer, he’s been stripped of everything he holds dear. If the CIA finds him, they’re sure to take his life as well. His only shot at getting it all back is taking down the man who burned him. He knows just how to get to Senator Hank McDonald and that’s through his … daughter, Faith. In order to seduce her, he must become something he never thought he’d be–a Dom. Overcome by isolation and duty…All her life, Dr. Faith “Mac” McDonald has felt alone, even among her family. Dedicating herself to helping others and making a difference in the world has brought her some peace, but a year spent fighting the Ebola virus in West Africa has taken a toll. She’s come home for two months of relaxation before she goes back into the field. After holding so many lives in her hands, nothing restores her like the act of submission. Returning to her favorite club, Mac is drawn to the mysterious new Dom all the subs are talking about, Master No. In the safety of his arms, she finds herself falling head over heels in love. Forced to choose between love and revenge…On an exclusive Caribbean island, Ten and Mac explore their mutual attraction, but her father’s plots run deeper than Ten could possibly have imagined. With McKay-Taggart by his side, Ten searches for a way to stop the senator, even as his feelings for Mac become too strong to deny. In the end, he must choose between love and revenge–a choice that will change his life forever.

Absolutely loved reading this story and seeing how Lexi brought this hero full circle.
This book is something else… Okay Tennessee Smith is not so different from his brothers at Sanctum, he just didn’t know it until he meet Faith McDonald… Faith McDonald didn’t know what she wanted out of life until she meet Ten… Ten thought that he would be able to use Faith and let her go after he got the evidence that he need against her father… But something changed inside of Ten and Faith both.. It came more and Ten couldn’t see his life without Faith in it… Faith had to make a harder choice than Ten did because her father is evil and he wanted nothing more than to kill Ten… Once Faith figured out the truth of who was lying to her, she can to the right decision… That her father would lie and cheat just to get his own way, even to protect her evil sister who is doing bad things to people with experimenting drugs on them to make them forget who they are and their moral compass… Hope McDonald is Faith’s sister and she is trying to make soldiers or what ever you to call them to do her’s and her father’s dirty work for them.. Sadly in this story there is any couple who didn’t get their happy ever after because one of them dies.. But Faith wanted to know more about Ten Smith so, she had someone find out who his birth parents where turns out that his mom was died but his father is still alive and didn’t even know that he existed.. But once Ten’s birth father found out that he had another son in this world he and his other son came to Dallas to meet Ten..
I thought the narration of Ten and Faith’s story was excellent. I also really enjoyed this book, but maybe not for the reasons I expected. A definite 3.5 stars read.
The OP was intriguing. It took me down paths I didn’t necessarily expect. From the beginning of Ten and Faith’s relationship, I knew something was up but didn’t expect the level of craziness. The description of Ten’s torture was intense.
I love the camaraderie between the McCay-Taggert Bunch and all of the operatives and significant others that get pulled into their circle.
There was a decent amount of action and suspense in this story, along with a couple of “hold your breath” moments. There was one couple I was surprised about. Then I thought they were just part of the op. Then I was surprised that they were more than the Op.
The further I go into this series, it seems like there is more and more inner dialogue, and less between characters. With the number of characters in each book, you would think the inner dialogue would be toned down a bit. Although, I do love the humor in these books.
I have to say that the Ten/Faith relationship really took a back seat in this book; at least for me it did. I know they communicated for at least 3 months before they actually meet, so their relationship was not instalove. I didn’t feel any real heat, connection, chemistry, romance, or buildup of sexual tension. I felt that Ten wanted to keep her safe, but I felt the safety factor more than the romantic factor.
The scene with Erin was heart wrenching. I didn’t think she had it in her. If I could have experienced that same level of emotion with Ten and Faith, I would not hesitate to up this review to 5 stars.
I have to move on, because this particular Op, didn’t exactly end on a cliffhanger, but it did leave a couple of loose ends.
Love this author and this series.
Master No said Yes
Master No is nail biting suspense and heartbreaking love and loss.
The characters descriptions is good and realistic. I felt for Ten and his childhood experiences. Faith faces some realities that can brake her or make her stronger. Together they find love, but the road is bumpy.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Lots of good dialogues between all the characters.
So emotional at the end….,
5 stars again for this series
Lexi Blake is now up there with Cherise Sinclair in my book (I will buy all their books)
I have to admit southern accents aren’t really my thing, but for Ten Smith I think I can go for it. I really didn’t think I would like Ten as much as I did. He was never really a character that I wanted to know more about. I can admit when I’m wrong, because I was wrong.
Faith was perfect for Ten. She was strong and smart.
I also loved the storyline in Master No. It wrapped up a story arc from the past few books, and started a new one.
Overall a great read!
I am attempting to read all the books in this series. I am up to volume 11. I have enjoyed each book on its own merit as each could be a stand alone sensation. However, by tying the foundation characters through the series the author has created a playground for all her adventures to take place. Definitely a very good read with lots of action, brotherhood, sisterhood and living, lasting relationships.
The master’s series keep getting Better and better. Great series..have some ice cold beverages handy….
Lexi Blake is an auto buy for me–steamy but also funny with great characters.
This book has left me with a hangover something awful! I knew I was into it, because I can’t say I enjoyed it, while reading it. It just always had a dark cloud over the story, and that made it a compelling story that has lingered with me
Needless to say, a book that stays with you is a good book to read!
Lexi Blake has penned an emotionally hard hitting romantic suspense in Master No. It’s gut wrenching and action packed yet the vulnerability she’s given her characters gives creedence to all this series…family is everything. Tennesse Smith despite his protestations, is part of the McKay-Taggart family and so by extension is Faith MacDonald. What starts out as an op for Ten and a few weeks of mindless vacation sex for Faith turns into something far more than they bargained for.
Make no mistake the bad guys abound as Tennesse’s op moves forward. As more and more incriminating evidence is discovered, timing of the revelation of the evidence becomes crucial. Before that happens Ten’s reasons for carrying out the mission change. Now he needs to convince Faith that he wants a lifetime not just a few weeks with her
I loved getting lost in, ‘Master No!’ Tennessee Smith showed another side to himself that had me falling in love… The men and women in this series are just so wonderfully written! Just make sure you have a box of tissues handy while reading this book, because it gives you the feels.
