Have bought this series in print. Absolutely loved it! I hope they turn into a TV series! This one is in my top 3
This is another good installment to the North and South series. I enjoyed the characters and the plot was well put together. It was great that research for this series is done and that really adds to their charm. This was a nice clean romance with a hint of mystery and definitely one I could barely put down.
Loved Milo and Fiona’s story!! I can just imagine everything in this book happening, even in today’s world. Not exactly the same ways, but very close! I love how Fiona’s faith saw her through, and how her faith helped Milo find his again. I had not heard of the battle that Milo is in, and I can see why it’s not really mentioned much in history books, too, in all these years since, as our history books must be politically correct, which just means cover up to me. I’m so glad that Marisa brought this battle out of its hiding place, and shows us that everything isn’t always as it seems. Love the HEA, too!! I’m looking forward to all of the books in this series!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.
The author has penned a story of a time during the Civil War when uncertainty reigned. None more so than for Fiona who travels from Ireland to work with her cousin but things do not go as she had expected. Eventually she will meet Milo, who was wounded in the war and agrees at the invitation of his mother, to become his bride. With the war still raging and the problems caused by Fiona’s interfering relatives, plus prejudices toward the Irish, will the couple ever find a HEA. Be sure to read this story to find out. I really enjoyed this story and highly recommend it.
Fiona is excited to start a new life in America but short after her arrival she almost got kidnapped but got saved by a nice woman. Milo has had a terrible time during the war and the only thing he wants to do is farm. A marriage between them will be good for both but is a marriage of convenience what they both want?
Really entertaining story that will keep you reading till the end.
Fiona is an immigrant from Ireland and has a heavy Irish Brogue. She comes to America to work with her cousin… The ship is horrible on the way over.
Milo is the younger of two Brothers, heading off together to fight in the Civil War on the side of the North.
What will these two have in common? Where and when will they meet?
You will enjoy their journey. This Author is a master at weaving a tale of mystery, drama and love into a book you won’t soon forget!
I received an ARC of this book and am choosing to leave an honest review.

Marisa, has written a wonderful book, that has enlightened so many different aspects of life in 1812, the time of the American civil war.
Fiona was growing up in rural Ireland, in poverty. Fiona had the opportunity to travel to the states, to join her aunt Cara, in a new life.
Not all was as expected. Aunt Cara was not at the wharf, to meet the boat.
Fiona was employed by a family with two sons fighting in the civil war.
Milo saw the worse that a 1812 battlefield had to offer, leaving him fighting for his life.
These two has many hurdles, pain, deception, misunderstanding, twists, fires
bullies, & vandals to overcome on the road to true love and harmony.
Marisa has written a wonderful book, that adds so much to the north and south series.
This was an interesting and moving book, I did shed a tear, over some parts.
Marisa is such a talented author, reading her books is a delight.
