There’s just something about a man who can dance and Mason James has the kind of moves that turn a woman’s thoughts to what that body of his could do off the dance floor. Mason’s been breaking hearts so long it’s part of his nature. There’s not a woman he can’t seduce. When he shows up in Cotton Creek the women perk right up. And take a sudden interest in dance lessons. No one realizes that … that teaching dancing is as far from the truth of who he really is as it gets. In all honesty, he’s not sure what he is anymore. He came back to Cotton Creek because it’s the only real home he’s ever known. He didn’t expect to like it, and sure didn’t expect to have a baby left on his doorstep, or to meet someone who made him wonder if it wasn’t time he stopped letting women chase him and do some chasing of his own.

Couldn’t put this one down! Wow! I read the first book in this series -Heartbreakers and Heroes – and knew I needed to read more. Mason James did not disappoint. You can read the excerpts to see what it’s about. This book is a page turner! I needed to know what was going to happen next. There were a number of twist and turns that took me by surprise as well. Excellent read!
I read this story when it first came out (review above), but I am now listening to the series. It’s been a while and things have slipped my mind about specifics in the story and listening brings all my emotions out again. Mason and Savannah are great together. Wonderful story. Rhett Samuel Price did justice to the various characters. I wasn’t expecting Mr. Price and am still get-ting used to his read.
MasonSavannah! Great Story, Great Audible Listen
Mason James
Heartbreakers & Heroes, Volume 2
By: Ciana Stone
Narrated by: Rhett Samuel Price
I loved this story it is well written and well told. The storylines Ciana Stone created are interesting and captivated me from start to end. Her characters are complex and well developed. Savannah, a successful author and business owner has not had an easy life, from a horrible childhood to a loveless marriage. She relocates to Cotton Creek to work with another author and have a fresh start. She likes what she sees there. especially Mason James, the hot dance instructor and an overall nice guy. But she thinks he is out of her league but Mason James thinks otherwise. I loved the chemistry between the two and how good they were for each other. Their story offers so much, from her heartbreaking history to who he really is. There are surprises, twists, drama, suspense and hot romance! I highly recommend this book! Ciana Stone thank your for the great story. I will be checking out the rest of your Heartbreakers & Heroes series and become a resident at Cotton Creek for a while.
I listened to the Audible edition, Rhett Samuel Price is a wonderful narrator and voice performer. He brings the characters to life, gives each their own voice and personality. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the great listen
I received this book for an honest review. This is about Mason who wants to start over after his stent in the CIA and becomes a dance instructor and runs a leather shop. Savannah goes to Cotton Creek to help write a book with her friend and start over after filing divorce and having multiple miscarriages. Then one day a baby is dropped on Mason’s door step and he’s going to be a father he knew nothing about. Lots of action going on and this is a very good book. Can’t wait to read the next book.
Wow. I have fallen into some really good books lately and this one is definitely in the list as well. The love and passion as well as past pain and turmoil is so gripping that you feel all the emotions right along with the characters. The writing is done absolutely perfect and the narration is fantastic!
I like that the story has depth and was surprised they there was some action packed in here too. Savannah has had a rough past and doesn’t even think she would ever measure up to the type of woman Mason would want. I felt so sorry for her and all she went through but Mason has a mind of his own. Mason is a sexy dancer or is he? I was surprised about his past life when it shockingly came knocking. I would have liked a little more romance for the couple but at the same time the pace of the plot was perfect so that would’ve probably dragged it out. Great couple, just waiting for the right person to add to their lives the love they have been missing. Great story, it’s exciting & emotional. This book was so good. This is one of those books you don’t just read, you kind of absorb it or it absorbs you. You feel like you are in Cotton Creek. You hold your breath, and feel Savannah’s pain and sadness as you read her story.
You also feel Mason and Savannah’s connection, their love for each other, and their love for Tommy. Then there are the moments of suspense when the tension ratchets up and you worry about the outcome. And finally, after a rollercoaster ride of emotions, you get that HEA and read that last page with a deep sigh and sense of satisfaction.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
I loved revisiting the Honky Tonk. This time, Savannah fights her lack of self confidence but finds sanctuary in the arms of Mason. Mason does not want to take a chance on another woman until he is forced to deal with a surprise from his past. The chemistry between these two people kept me turning the pages.
I received this a copy of this story through Candid Book Reviews, and this is my unsolicited review.

Mason James is the 2nd book in the Heartbreakers and Heroes series and as usually Ciana Stone has written another fabulous book! !
Mason is a military man who has kept his country safe and has moved back to the only place that feels like home, Cotton Creek. One of his personas was a dancer so he decides to open a dance studio and a leather shop. Except something shows up on his door step and surprise…a little bundle of joy that he thought didn’t exist because his girlfriend told him she didn’t want the baby…then he gets called back into service and has to decide what to do…with the baby and Savannah???
Savannah owned spas all over the country and is also a writer; she decided to sell her spas after her first book was made into a movie. She has had some devastating things happen to her between the loss of her baby and her divorce she decided to move to Cotton Creek to start fresh and write an anthology with her best friend. After watching Mason dance she decides to interview him as part of her story…well…things certainly take off from there….
This book is a page turner with lots of things happening, past hurts, secret lives, instant attraction, tears and HEA is all rolled into this book! !
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
Oh my HOT, HOT, HOT!!!! Dang I loved this story. I couldn’t put it down. The characters are so very realistic. The plot was so well developed, that it felt like I was watching a movie. There were parts were I cried. The depth of feeling that the author bring to the story and gives to the reader is intense with this book. Ms. Stone is truly gifted. She doesn’t just write books, she tells stories of people that you will fall in love with and don’t want to say good-bye to.
