I recently discovered I am the previously believed dead Fae King. But it isn’t all coronations and revolution like I’d hoped.
Bramble’s Edge Academy was established to train Fae how to control and wield their elemental power. And, I have only completed one of three years. I don’t have the power I need.
I have more power than I bargained for and no idea how to utilize it. Let alone eliminate the … alone eliminate the ones responsible for my parent’s death before they get to me, too.
Word gets out that the king is back, and my friends scramble to mask my identity. Those responsible for the destruction of Fae society turn up the heat on me leaving those that I love in the crossfire. Maurelle and Brokk end up getting burned.
Whether I like it or not, I must take huge risks if I am going to save those closest to me and have a shot at freeing the rest of the realm. The clock is ticking, and time has almost run out.

The second year at Bramble’s Edge Academy starts off with a bang. The narration was amazing the storyline was wonderful and this book kept my attention the entire time.
I loved this book every bit as much as the first one, and it was just too addictive to put down. Ryker continues to attract loyalty and attention as his power builds and it gets increasingly harder to escape detection. As they search for the power tainting the academy, Brock and Morelle are captured and it becomes clearer the council is involved, but not who is pulling the strings. The continuity from the first book was seamless, and the drama increased keeping me on the edge of my seat and begging for more, I’m desperately waiting for book 3!
Another amazing read that I couldn’t put down. Ryker & Maurelle are smoking hot but adding Brokk, Daine and Sol they are scorching hot together. Ryker as Fae King
must go up against the council and make all the wrongs right. I can’t wait too read what will happen next.
This book continues seamlessly from book one. It is well written and the characters and story were both well developed. I love the individual character personalities and watching their relationship dynamics change and evolve. The story was action packed and full of twists and turns. It had suspense, intrigue, emotion, hot chemistry and romance. I look forward to the next book in this series!! I’d highly recommend this book!!

It’s year 2 at Bramble’s Edge Academy. Maurelle & Ryker are back together along with his 3 closest friends. In this book, Ryker uses his king powers & marks his 3 closest friends as his Guard. He doesn’t want to put Maurelle in any more danger so he is putting off telling her how he feels. He has to accept that he has to share her with his 3 friends even if he doesn’t know the reason behind it. When Maurelle & Brokk are taken in the middle of the night because they are linked to the new king, Ryker will stop at nothing to get them back. As his powers continue to grow, he has to find a way to come in to his powers & very quickly or the entire Fae race will suffer further.
I couldn’t put this one down. I love the way these characters all fit together. I’d like to know more about why Ryker has to share Maurelle with his friends, but I don’t think not knowing this takes away from the story. I’m looking forward to book 3 in this series.
I enjoyed this story! It’s wells written and great characters! And that cover is PHENOMENAL i enjoyed the world building and look forward to more!!!

Book two in the Bramble’s Edge Academy series another great story in this series. I want to read the next book in this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a unique fae, academy and reverse harem romance. This is a very interesting read that has great dynamics between characters. Ryker and Maurelle have amazing chemistry but I also likes Maurelle’s interactions and chemistry with Ryker’s guards. I really enjoyed this story.
I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased, honest review.
The story picks up with the group heading back to the Academy. Ryker and Maurelle are still together and he has chosen his friends as his Guard. More of the Fae have felt the power of the new king’s awakening. It’s getting harder to hide each day. While he builds his number of allies, he still can’t escape his enemies. The possessiveness Ryker showed for Maurelle in book one was pretty intense. I did not see him including his friends in their romance. Being told it was necessary without reason, he assumes it is for their safety. I am not a fan of RH. However, the change in dynamic flowed smoothly. In my opinion, it takes a talented author to do that. That said, I’m anxious to see what comes next. Danger is ahead and they will need to be strong together. This is my voluntary review of an advanced copy I received.
What a fun take in a totally different direction than we are used to about the Fae.
This book set up a great premise and though I don’t particularly like harems it wasn’t overly extensive in the book
You must read book one in order to really delve into this story and world built by the author

I am a fan of Harry Potter and the thought of a book set at a fascinating, mysterious, magical school with surprises around every corner and plenty of interesting people to meet along the way. However, none of that describes this book. At the fifty percent mark, I still hadn’t even seen the interior of the school with all of their classes spent wandering around in the forest (usually lost and without any teachers). There is plenty of info dumping along the way, sometimes taking up almost entire chapters. There were points where it skipped time and then dumped us in the middle of scenes, leaving the audience to guess at what was happening in the scene. The only character that has a strong personality in this book is Rykker. He’s everything you could want in a young king trying to learn his way around his powers and his function in the land that he will rule over. Maurelle is really just a bland damsel-in-distress Mary Sue, with the personality traits of being narcissistic, irked that she has to interact with other students while at school (outside of Rykker and his friends), rather uncaring about anyone outside of her tight circle (like the two students whose memory she erased. Did she care one iota about them after the teacher said they might not get their memory back. Nope), and she calls other girls the B-word. And then there are the other guys in the harem. We’ll just refer to them as Shadow 1, 2, & 3, because I really couldn’t tell the difference between them, and their dialogue just sounded like an extension of Rykker, but like the author decided to give the lines to someone else just so the book could jump onto the Reverse Harem bandwagon. Speaking of that, I like the idea of having a book starring one of the guys in a reverse harem, but it does serve to emphasize how awkward and unfair a harem is to the guys who have to share a girl. He’s painted as being alpha and possessive, yet he has to bend to share her with others, while she gets irritated when other girls so much as look in his direction. See the awkwardness and unfairness? Though this is written for a YA audience, I can’t recommend it to that age of audience because of all the swear words. Half the time, I don’t even know why the author put in the swear words. And, there are graphic sex scenes, too, as well as voyeurism. I also didn’t like that whenever the book was discussing someone, it would describe them as being “male” or “female” with really no other descriptors. That doesn’t do anything to paint a picture of whoever they were talking about. I was having trouble distinguishing a plot to the story, other than Rykker searching randomly for the evil at the school without any clear idea of what the evil was. Admittedly, I picked this up from Booksprout because I thought book 1 looked interesting and it’s been sitting on my Amazon wishlist for a while. After reading my way through this one, I cut the first book off my list.
Ryker’s story continues but brings more troubles and challenges. I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
I’m not a huge fan of either the academy or the reverse harem books that seem to be so popular right now, but I read this because I usually like everything that Brenda Trim writes alone or with a partner. I enjoyed this book, but since I didn’t read the first book in the series there were times that I felt like I was missing something. I did enjoy the book, but not anywhere near as much as her other works that I’ve read.
