DIFFERENT, BUT I DID ENJOY READING IT. COULDN’T WAIT TO SEE WHO BETH CHOSE FOR HER HUSBAND. DESPISED HER BROTHER’S CHARACTER – WANTED TO CHOKE HIM!
Fun reading but the ending was left open for a second book.
I liked this book so much, I bought the second one, and now have several more to consider buying to get to the end of the series. It is very well written and kept my interest from start to finish. A talented author. I am always glad to find a new one
who writes such a good story.
It was a fun and interesting read. Worked well as an “airplane book” for in-flight entertainment.
Excellent book Can’t wait to read the whole series!
I was captivated by the description of the era, the interaction the period characters, and the story itself. I bought the rest of the series for my kindle. Thank you.
Am looking forward to the next story.
Realistic message of the the times for women. Beth was strong in the face of a culture she could not change. She knew when to fight and when to live to fight another day. The romance was just enough to create a hope for her future. She was true to her roots and friends. Perfect moment to end this book and make the reader want to read the rest of their story. Well written. Thanks.
Fantastic start to a series recommend to any Outlander fans out there!
Kind of reminds me of the Scarlet Pimpernel. I wasn’t put off by the rape scene,it was of a short duration & necessary to the plot. Like the historical time period & characters
I liked this book.
with a cliff hanger for an ending – I am on for the next book in the series – cant wait to read it!!!!
Very realistic with some fun twists tossed in.
Love the heroine. Feisty little woman with a nasty brother.
This is a great story of intrigue and history. The author shows the marriage plight of women and the collusion of the times. Once you start it you cannot put it down.
This book started out extremely slow, but picked up as the story progressed. This is part of a series, so you need to continue reading additional books to finish the story.
