More than music is made in this rock star reverse harem romance. In order for Vienna Charleston to win back her crown as pop’s princess, all she needs to do is stay out of the tabloids, lose some weight, and rewind some years. However, with her star fading, the executives from her record label burst her pop bubble when they insist she become the lead singer for an all male rock band or face … male rock band or face financial and public ruin by breaking her contract.
After the suicide of their lead singer, the members of the Archangels band have been stuck in purgatory. Broke and trapped in a bad contract that gives the label complete control of their creative endeavors, they’re at the mercy of whatever the executives have in store for them, even if it’s bringing in a spoiled diva as their lead.
Between the charming longhaired drummer who wants to sleep with her, the intellectual keyboardist who wants her to write music, and the brooding lead guitarist who simply hates her, their new band, Fallen Archangels seem doomed. The only way they are able to get any rhythm is when the four of them are in bed, but when their hit turns viral sensation and their fame explodes, they have to hide themselves from their label and the public or risk getting crushed.
Fans who love how authors like EL James brought BDSM to the mainstream with Fifty Shades of Grey will enjoy this contemporary romance take on the exploding Reverse Harem genre.

So this book was HOT and STEAMY!! It contains two of my favorite things, reverse Harem and Rockstars. Vienna is struggling pop princess and needs a new image. She needs to break thru and shine again. She’s thrown into a band that has seen their share of heartbreak. Tensions are high at first but then attraction takes over.. this is when things get good and nasty!! Jamison, Dempsey and Tage are a package deal. They are dealing with heartbreak and being broke. Being thrown in with a pop princess wasn’t the plan and boy the emotions are high. They come up a plan to help bond as a band. It takes a turn that I’m not sure any of them saw coming. They have the attraction and the sexual chemistry to go with it. This is more then just crazy wild sex scenes, it’s about how 4 people who are hurting, heal each other and find love. I’m telling you that the thoughts these guys have during their sexy times are hotter then anything. This book will smoke your kindle, I swear!! I do like they use this to their advantage and make some killer music. They realize they are stronger together not apart in the end.
I have never read Kim Carmichael until this book, and I definitely will be reading more of her work! This book did start out a little slow, but once I got into it a little bit, I did not want to put it down. This book is about a band of 4 guys, that lost their lead singer to suicide, and they have not been able to work or move forward. Enter Vienna Charleston, a pop star that is no longer making it, so the record company decides Vienna will be the new lead singer. Jamison, Tage, and Dempsey are none too thrilled with this – well maybe Dempsey a little bit because he thinks she’s hot. They are told to make it work or be out of contract. Tage comes up with the idea that they need to go on a retreat, and he has some ideas to bring them all together. OMG – the heat factor in this retreat is amazing, and once they team up – they start making all kinds of music, and some steamy hot sex! The band has a hit song on their hands, and truly they are together. I really don’t want to give too much away. The book deals with the pressures of Vienna (and women in general) to live up to perceived notions of how women should look, and what they should weigh. The guys start realizing how much of an emphasis is put on Vienna’s weight by everyone who talks to her, and they don’t agree with it, and they all think she is beautiful as she is. I will say that I wish there had been an epilogue telling me what happens after The Couch Room performance or maybe a follow on book of if they made it as a band and as a reverse harem! If you looking for a steamy read, or like books about rock stars – this is one for you to pick up. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
This is one of the first book’s that I have read by this author. Mash Up was an easy read and hard to put down. This Rockstar story had some very steamy spots, once the band members quit fighting each other and moved past their differences. I enjoyed the story line the book followed and how the author stuck with it.
I’ve read other reverse harem novels by other authors in the past. Mash Up is one of the first books that I’ve read with a great storyline.
My only complaint is that I wish there would have been an epilogue. I want to know if the band took off and what became of our happy quartet. This book is a must read. I hope the next reader enjoys this book as much as I did.
I will read more stories by this author’s in the future.
The beginning was sad and didn’t quite catch my attention to keep reading. But I stuck with it and it was a good story about loss and finding their way back to music. All of them go through a lot and having to work together to get back in touch with music. This book is a good read and it takes you through a lot of emotions and struggle but comes together to tell you a story that needs to be read.
A hot and steamy reverse harem like no other. Rock stars galore in this story. A great story line with lots of chemistry between all the characters. A first from me from this author and it was well worth the read!!
This mash up of a band and a pop star ended up being more than just a band. Their struggles to unite and then finally accept their faith we’re real. They didn’t know how to let the world know. This book also touches on suicide of a past member and how it affected them all and the real like struggle for girls to fit a certain body type. Kind of like fate brought them together and made their lives better and safe them all.
Such a great book absolutely loved it
Although this is my first book by Kim Carmichael, this will not be my last. Jamison, Tage, and Dempsey, are struggling with the suicide of their band Archangel’s lead singer and their friend. Vienna is struggling to continue her “pop princess” career as an adult. When Vienna is forced to join Archangel to replace Cole, the lead singer, no one os happy. This is when things get really interesting. How are all these different people going to resolve their baggage and come together as a cohesive band. Well developed characters, fast paced, and an interesting read. I’m a fan!!
Vienna Charles is a pop princess but lately everything around her seems to be falling apart and she is struggling for a hit. With her mom controlling everything she does Vienna is struggling to find herself with everything else going on around her.
The band Archangel lost it all when lead singer Cole Lars killed himself and left the members of the band struggling to find their own way. Each of them have dealt with the loss in their own way and have tried to figure out how to go on. Jamison Michael blames himself, his cousin Tage Kingston wonders if he missed something and Dempsey Reynolds is trying to find out who he is.
When Vienna is forced to join up with the Archangels nobody is happy. Yet when they understand they have no other choice will they be willing to go along with what is planned for them or decide to do what works best for them?
This was a super good read with some twists to keep you wondering what is going to happen and if they can pull it off.
My heart broke for Vienna as she was being forced to live a life that she didn’t necessarily want for herself. She was treated horribly by her mother and I was shocked at how Vienna believed the stuff her mom said to her and about her. I really wanted Vienna to succeed and get as far away from her mother as she possibly could!
The band was way more complicated and as the story went on you learned about some of the more “secret” dynamics that had a role in the past and the present. Jamison was dark and broody but then he had lost his best friend and someone who meant more to him than just a friend. Tage lost his cousin and had to face Cole’s family and try and be there for them. Dempsey seemed the most lost to me and had no money left and was really struggling with the band on hiatus.
There was so much hate initially between Vienna and most of the group but they all knew that they needed to come together in order to succeed. The chemistry was just sizzling at a certain point and it only got hotter after that!!!
The retreat was just jaw dropping and hot!!! After the retreat it was a whole different book and you really wondered what was going to happen with everything.
At a certain point it became apparent how much of a mess Vienna was in with a certain thing she was doing to herself and I knew it was going to come out but I was worried about how.
After an incident at Tessa’s everything completely fell apart but I knew they could work it all out if they just sat down to discuss everything and what each person’s intentions were instead of letting things completely blow up.
The end was awesome and I loved the way it all came together!
Just the absolute best story. Everything I like to read about and more. Such a great story I will read again and again. A keeper!!
Vienna, a new lead singer and her three male band mates. Will they be able to get it together and keep it together professionally and privately? Fun, steamy, action packed and easy to read!
Man this book was hot. This reverse harem wow. Hands down amazing! Vienna is losing her star shine from her pop princess days and needs a come back. Archangels just lost their lead singer and have no clue how to take it or what they should do next. This group comes together and make wonderful music in front of the crowds and off the stage. The love scenes are scorchers. This has great characters that all work together to make them all better. They make each other whole again. Amazing and so HOT!
This book is a steamy read. Great characters. Page turning action. Total enjoyment to read. Rock stars and reverse harem. Book is extremely sexy
I loved this crazy, intense, hot, sinful book. Every chapter brought you closer to the characters and their love for music and one another. With a past band member tragedy, this new mashed up music group has taken the world by storm. But being accepted for who they are might never happen.
Such an amazing story. I loved every hot and crazy page. 5/5
I wasn’t sure what to expect with this one, the book started a little bit slow for me but picked up really quick. A combination rock star, hate to love, reverse harem story that was good read. If you are looking for a different, steamy book give this a read.
This was my first read of this author. Wasnt what I was expecting but it was a great surprise. Great characters, good story line.
My first read from this author, won’t be the last! I really felt like the emotional journey Vienna took us on was the main attraction here, but those steamy scenes sure were hot! Jaimsons progression as far as losing Cole and all the feelings that brought with it felt really authentic. If I had to pick one, I’d say Tage was my favorite of them all but they all brought crucial things to the story, this one is packed to the gills not a word wasted. I don’t want to spoil anything so I’m hesitant to say anything further but if your into rockstar romance or reverse harems, jump on this one!
