Still trying to recoup from her loses cupcake truck vendor Ruby Holmes and her baking side-kick land a catering gig for a local wedding. How hard could it be creating a cupcake tower bridal cake for a bridezilla?! When Ruby goes to finalize all the details with the bride-to-be and finds her dead, things don’t look so rosy for Ruby. The local police once again target her (an outsider) as the main suspect and her wishes for a successful cupcake truck seem to be going down the drain. Now the question is whether Ruby can find the real murderer before she’s locked up and the key is thrown away.
This is a cozy mystery with a sense of humor (love the snarky side-kick), suspense, madcap misadventure, dimwitted police, and lots of potential suspects.

Marzipan and Murder is the second book in the Bite Sized Bakery series and I’m really enjoying the dynamics between Ruby and Bee, their food truck, and the cute, seaside town of Carmel Springs, Maine. Though business has been dismal since their unfair association with a recent local murder, the ladies have stayed on, charmed by the town and their guesthouse owner Sam. When they agree to cater a wedding for a fussy out-of-towner, they never expected to find the bridezilla murdered. Can they make it though another murder investigation and keep their food truck in business? This was a fun, easy read with a few surprises! I can’t wait for the next book!
I received an advance copy of this book. This review contains my honest thoughts and opinions.
Honey the Bridezilla was apparently disappointed to have her wedding take place in the hometown of her groom. The town, venue, planner and food all did not suit her demands.
Ruby and Bee ran afoul of an awful detective during a previous murderous encounter. Jones seems ready to point fingers and blame and do little actual investigating
Did the marzipan do the deed?
Love works in good and bad ways.

Ruby’s and Bea’s mobile business has been lagging and they decide to take on catering for a wedding. They discover the bride’s body and are accused by surly Detective Jones. The Bite Sized Bakery duo must find answers quickly because they cannot leave town and the bakery is failing. Marzipan and Murder is a humorous mystery with enjoyable characters. I recommend the entire series.

Culinary Cozy Mystery
Ruby Holmes and her baker Bea are still in Carmel Springs with their food truck. Business is down after the murder investigation they were involved in. An offer of a catering job has them both expecting a turn around as more people taste their goods. Unfortunately the bride offering the job has been murdered with their cupcake samples and the ladies again find the body.
The lazy investigator just wants a quick solve and thinks Ruby looks good for it. The ladies must investigate on their own to find out who the killer is.
Ruby makes the error of confronting him. Will she get away? I won’t ruin the ending for you.
I received an ARC to peruse. I offer my opinion freely.
I love this series! Great use of misdirection that kept the reader guessing until the end.
