Was going to give it a 5 until I got to near the end of book 3 and whole new story started with no way to rap it up. I don’t like to be continued.
Loved this 3 book series! It is hard to put down, kept me coming back!!
Mary Mills in book 1 gives the illusion of introducing the reader to a strong female lead. Sadly, as the plots continue that is not the case. Unfortunately, there was a high reliance on stereotypes by book 3. Turns out Mary is just another emotional-binge-eating-helicoptering parent pining for an sorta’ ex-spouse whom is as immature as she is….
The first book is good–after that the plots are just too far-fetched.
I loved all three books but was disappointed that I had to buy the fourth one to finish the story.
Definitely an unpredictable read. Page turning books. Thanks for the scare Willow Rose!
My first time reading this author and I had a hard time getting the characters and story lines connected. I got better at recognizing names after the first book, but still found the stories interesting once I got everyone straight in my mind.
Love this writer!!!
I loved the Mary Mills series. Loved the characters, location and plot twists and turns. Can’t wait for the next book to come out!
Mary Mills writes about taking care of children in a foster care in her characters home and the processes to implement it.
This series was action-packed and unpredictable, and surprised me at the end. I especially liked the “local” characters it was written about, and the “local” setting that I felt like I was reading about. The author has made it feel like I was reading about things happening in my local area and about local people, while I in fact live in the hills of Vermont, about 2000 miles away and no coast for 200 miles. I look forward to reading many of the author’s books, and highly recommend this series.
A dissenting opinion: It ended up turning me off.
I read the first of the three, and don’t want to read more. It certainly was engaging and suspenseful, and I can understand others liking it, but I ended up feeling I’d been unfairly tricked. The plot twists seemed too unrealistic and contrived.
I didn’t like that Ihave to buy the next book to find out the ending
What an excellent series! I couldn’t put it down. I purchased the 4th book immediately so I knew what happened 🙂
Good stories. I didn’t like that it ends with a cliff hanger.
The first book was well written, but I just couldn’t get into it. I found I did not like or particularly care about any of the characters. I was not interested in giving the other books in the set a try.
Terrible book. I’ll never read this author again!
Good story line that kept me reading – loved that it was a continuous story throughout all the books
The book was fast-paced. I read through the first three in the series in less than a week, even though it was Christmas week! Planning on purchasing the next one.
Love all her books!!!
