A nice story. The relationship build is slow in this one. It’s not as intense as the other two. But it was still entertaining and a HEA.
This is the only book in this series that I have read but it didn’t matter that I hadn’t read the others. The characters were very likeable and easy to read about. The storyline kept me interested throughout. I found myself enjoying the way the story unfolded. Very enjoyable.
It is hard to pick a favorite couple in this series, but I loved the chemistry and realization of feelings between Owen and Minnie. They both have pasts to overcome, but the journey is so sweet!
This book was probably my favorite one. I love Minnie and her personality. She was enjoyable to read and her long journey, yet sad, was awesome to read through. The twist and turns had me on edge.
I read this first not realizing it was part of a series. And had to go read the others!
Minnie (short for Minnesota) finds herself having to care for her two young nieces after an accident. She quits her job, ditches her (loser) boyfriend and moves to a new town with the girls.
She finds a new job, cares for her nieces and is too exhausted to worry about her love life.
Some new friends, a hot co-worker and … you just need to read to see what happens.
This is the best Country Road book yet! I loved seeing Owen and Minnie figure out their feelings for each other so organically! It’s almost like watching a tv show or a hallmark movie series, where we get to catch up on the lives of all the people that we have fallen for since book one! It’s so great to see Owen so happy and grounded! This is the third book in a series, but can also be read as a standalone, each book semi-focuses on one couple in a group of friends from a small town called Lexington!
I just love Andrea’s inclusive style of series writing. She has a way of tying things all up together that are just one big mess to start with. I’ve known Owen since book one, when he was kind of just the drunk friend, who was a tad pervy, and never really seemed like the type to settle down. He was the forever bachelor. Then in Tequila, we got to see the more man side of him at work, along with his crush on Minnie as she came in to work for Jameson in the office. I don’t think he ever really saw love coming his way until it slapped him right in the face.
In Martini’s, I think I really fell for Owen, I think I’ve seen all sides of him now and he’s such a well developed character after all I’ve seen him go through! I was really glad to get a lot more of Minnie’s story – she was such a mystery before, although we knew she had a kid in her care. The weight of her story was unknown to me until this book, and It was so hard to read and realize how amazing and caring she is.
This book is definitely going up on the book shelf, I’ve re-read the first two a few times now, and this is one to add to that list! So good, and so heartfelt. It felt like real life, and I can’t ask anymore from a contemporary romance.
