Phoebe and Oliver’s story in Marry You by Joanne Dannon, book two in the Finding Love series, was an emotional, enjoyable and heartwarming tale. Phoebe Dalton felt like Cinderella being chosen to model the wedding dress and shoes for renowned designer Serena Millinova’s launch of her wedding fashion line. Phoebe is hoping this will turn her modeling career around and make her a household name. Oliver Baden is one of London’s sexiest supermodels and is surprised when Serena asks him to star opposite an unknown Australian model in the launch of her new wedding line. Oliver and Serena have an unpleasant history and he believes she actually despises him. Oliver wants nothing to do with Serena but unfortunately, his agent had already signed the paperwork; making it too late to back out. The day of the launch goes off beautifully, especially with Phoebe playing the part of bride to Oliver’s handsome groom. After the celebrations, these two models end up in an elaborate revenge scheme; their clothes are missing and the food and drink are spiked with a drug that takes away their inhibitions. After Phoebe and Oliver share a sexy night together, one that is a vague memory, they learn they are legally married. They can no longer annul the marriage, they did not use protection, hardly know one another, and the press is in hot pursuit wanting the story; whatever will they do.
As Oliver and Phoebe spend time together they discover many common interests and are more compatible than they ever expected. I fell in love with Oliver and how protective he became of Phoebe; especially when they discovered she was pregnant. Phoebe was a little harder to relate to. Maybe it was her age or her immaturity or her narcissism, but she cared more about her career than herself, Oliver, or the baby she was carrying.
Ms. Dannon wrote an emotional and heartwarming romance that should not be missed. This tale abounds with emotions, sexual chemistry, wonderful dialogue, and charming characters giving Phoebe and Oliver a chance at love, a family, and forever. I highly recommend Marry You to other readers.
“Marry You” by Joanne Dannon
I did love this contemporary romance story. It is all over this world and filled with a fun, emotion packed read. Yes, I received an ARC of this story from the author with the request for an honest review. And, honestly, I do hope you enjoy your time with this book as much as I did. Do be prepared there are a couple of spicy scenes, but nothing you cannot handle. This story is well worth the read. Happy Reading ! !
This was an interesting story of a staged marriage to showcase a new line of fashion, except the staged marriage ends up being real on paper. The story line made me not be able to put the book down until I had finished it because I had to know what happened next and how the story ended.
I really liked Phoebe and Oliver who were both models. It was also interesting to find out why a fashion designer would be so vindictive in playing with other people’s lives. I enjoyed the book and the way Phoebe and Oliver dealt with the consequences of someone else’s actions. I also enjoyed that Oliver was able to develop more of a relationship with his mom. The cottage sounded beautiful and I wish I could live there. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Who Will Have the Last Laugh?
A famous designer has been shunned by Oliver, a super model, who’s not interested in her. She decides to trick him with the ultimate modelling job involving Phoebe, a struggling model who is too curvy for the modelling industry. What seemed to be an innocent gig to show off Serena’s new wedding fashion line, ends up as the biggest surprise ever!
Oliver & Phoebe weigh all of their options & decide to follow one path, only to face more obstacles & decisions to be made along the way as each one arises. A good story & I would recommend this novel.
I volunteered to read this ARC & leave an honest review.
Phoebe is on the cusp of making her modeling dreams come true when she is labeled plus sized. When a famous designer makes her an offer, she jumps at the opportunity not knowing that it is a revenge plot. When everything is revealed she and Oliver are wedded for real but in the end who loses! This over the top story will have you cheering for Oliver and Phoebe. They may not have started out on the road to marriage but destiny has a way of striking when you least expect it. I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
4.5 Stars
I liked this story. Oliver and Phoebe are caught up in a web tangled by someone else. I really liked Oliver and how he responded. Phoebe took a little more time for me to warm up to.
This author keeps amazing me with her stories.
This may be one of my favorites.
The plot of this book is wonderful and kept me reading until the very end.
The characters were so real and engaging.
This is definitely a 5-star read!!
Oh, she’s a devious mean girl.
That’s Serena. A designer who plays a cruel trick on Oliver, male model extraordinare and plus size model Phoebe. I mean. Seriously? That’s one elaborate revenge scheme.
On the plus side?
Oliver and Phoebe are for reals married and they share for reals chemistry.
I enjoyed this book and rooted for Phoebe.
Recommend.
Caught up in a revenge plot against supermodel Oliver Braden, Phoebe thinks she has been given a chance in a lifetime, but it turns out to be the worst kind of scam as she becomes part of the fall out of Serena’s scheming. Oliver understands only too well what the outcome will be once the news of their unintentional marriage becomes news fodder, but is unable to squash the reports before they go viral. Doing the best they can with the circumstances handed to them, Oliver and Phoebe actually discover that they make a good team and work well together. Two people thrown together, they find that despite Serena’s evil intentions, there is actually a lot going for them as they learn to accommodate one another’s needs and preferences. The plot is romantic and draws the reader in, but more than that one cannot help but identify with Oliver and Phoebe as they deal with the emotional upheaval that the violation of their rights has caused them. The novel is a standalone and comes to a happy conclusion as that which was meant for evil turns out to be for their good. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
ONE FREAKING FANTASTIC TREAT!!!
Unputdownable! Joanne graces us with one unbelievably spectacular spin, ripping through with such refreshing, chart topping, block busting delight that hooks you from the start and reels you in for the duration, fusing this baby together seamlessly. A multitude of unexpected events, throwing this baby into a tailspin with an astonishing culmination. Shenanigans run amuck, tossing in a bit of chaos and a boatload of trouble, add a heaping of humor and you have one rip roaring, mind-blowing bombshell melding this little fella together seamlessly. Meting out incredible, well rounded scenario’s, ramping up the exuberance and style with such intensity and precision, blasting this gem to life spectacularly. The undeniable attraction and intense chemistry sizzles as each layer is peeled back exposing a deep connection and amplifying affections, binding them together perfectly. The realism and authenticity of the characters as their on point personalities blend and flow along with the colorfully detailed scenes paint one fantastic backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Awesome Joanne, thanks for sharing this little fella with us.
Marry You by Joanne Dannon is even more swoon-worthy than the previous book in this series. While it’s Phoebe’s story, there is mention of her family who we met in the previous book. However, you don’t have to be familiar with the other characters in order to enjoy this book. And further, you aren’t left hanging, waiting for the next book. Phoebe and Oliver’s marriage may have started as a sham, but it’s a fun ride to see what the future will bring for them. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Marry You and highly recommend it as well as other books by Joanne. You’ll soon find her to be a favorite author, as I have!
I was given an ARC by the author and very willingly am reviewing it.
Marry You is amazing from start to finish. I could not turn the pages fast enough. There are turns and twists that will surprise you every few pages. It has an interesting storyline. It is like no other book I have read before. Oliver was an A-list model, traveled all over the world for modeling shoots. Phoebe was also a model but had not gotten her big break. I cannot tell more without giving away the story. I urge you to read Marry You by Joanne Dannon. She is the best.
I suspect many women would love to be trapped in an accidental marriage with a supermodel like Oliver. He’s beyond handsome, but he’s not full of himself. He’s kind, considerate and sexy as hell, but Phoebe’s still waiting for her big break. After struggling for five years, she’s about to get her big chance when an elaborate scheme changes their lives forever. Joanne Dannon pens a fun romp filled with twists, surprises and sizzling chemistry. When Oliver meets Phoebe’s family, the love and warmth shine through and the stage is set for another wonderful book.
This has to be a lawsuit and a nightmare to boot. Especially, since Serena drugged both Phoebe and Oliver. I’m disappointed that Serena never got what was coming to her, and the media didn’t get a hold of the whole scam that Serena played on them. Serena should have been so drowned in lawsuits that she would have needed to fold her designer business. This would have been the justice that Serena deserved. The fact that these two were probably destined for each other should never weigh into the facts. Evil should not be rewarded and Serena was rewarded with no consequences. The only justice that Serena received was that they stayed married. Which is not much justice, because it gives her free reign to play in other peoples lives with evil intent again.
Our main characters are wonderful and their story well written, but it lacks real resolution.
My first Joanne Dannon book and I just LOVED IT! I think Joanne should be crowned the Queen of romance. This books has so much going for it, two good people that are thrown together not only agree to make the best of the situation, they discover love along the way. This book will make you believe in love! Hail the Queen of Romance!!!
